courtneyinLAGrounded and real conversation about art topicsLast night I listened to the latest episode, of Margo talking to her friend Abby about retired Crayola colors, mindmapping, etc. and it was such a pleasant conversation. It was like hearing two interesting creative friends talk about cool things they’ve stumbled upon. I’m eager to hear an upcoming episode they referenced, about a woman creator who’s been off of social media for 2 years and how that has/hasn’t impacted her business. I like the questions Margo asks guests—it’s all the stuff I’d want to ask—and I like that she actually listens to their responses and digs deeper when something is particularly interesting. Great pod!

napoleonsmomLisa Congdon EpisodeAfter listening to this episode I found nothing pertaining to doing art for arts sake. Lisa ended up making these collages that were to be possibly put in a book, made into a poster, placed in a gallery. Where was the simply making art to make art? I appreciate that she has worked hard to create a wonderful career, has a staff of people ect, but what of just making art and enjoying the satisfaction of that? Maybe even making ugly stuff just for the sake of it. This episode left me feeling more agitated than inspired.

Ali MoncrieffReal TalkWow, I'm not sure how I missed this podcast up to this point, but the ONE episode I have listened to is so very refreshing and real and wonderful on so many different levels for creatives and the people who love them. 🌝 I'm totally excited that I have so many episodes to catch up on. Thanks for your offering.

LovingSweaterWeatherImaginationFirst, Margo, let me say how wonderful your podcast is. The variety of creatives you interview is always so inspiring, and your skill as an interviewer is quite impressive. This latest episode with Duncan Wardle is exceptional—it's now in my “saved” file, and I know I’ll be listening to it over and over again. I don’t often pass along podcasts, as they feel quite personal and subjective—much like books. However, this one was an exception, and I’ve already shared it with others. Thank you for taking the time to seek out such brilliant creative minds and bringing their stories and insights into our lives. Keep up the amazing work!

WonderAndMullSo inspiringI recently found Windowsill Chats through a post by her guest Mary Jo Hoffman. That was a fantastic episode…as have been every other one to which I have listened. I have been prompted with ideas, encouraged when I felt in a rut, and given tips and reminders of next steps. Already this has had a positive effect on how I do what I do, and perspective. Listen to it!

Funny FrancineA Window of JOY!Thank you Margo for sharing such a wonderful glimpse into creativity and the many paths it can take. I am not a visual artist, but hearing all the twists and turns each artist’s path takes fuels me to continue on my own unique and wild path, even when it doesn’t look like every one else’s. I never want the episodes to end! Thank you so much❤️

turnofthecenturiesKeep Going, Creative! If you’re feeling a bit jaded on your own creative life, take a listen to Windowsill Chats. mmhaslamInspiring and calmingI love Margo’s voice. It’s so calming. I’m a digital artist and gain a lot from the insightful conversations she has with the other artists. I hope she gets more digital or concept artists on the podcast but most of the topics are applicable for any creative person.

Taylor_MilanArtBeautiful Conversations 🌸As someone who's dedicated her life to the arts, it’s always a delightful surprise to discover gems like "Windowsill Chats." Margo Tantau doesn’t just create episodes; she paints vivid, soulful narratives for every creative spirit. Listening to her is like finding that favorite sunlit corner in your studio, where inspiration flows effortlessly. Listening to "Windowsill Chats" feels akin to those cherished moments when, as artists, we share our raw, unfiltered stories over coffee, reveling in our shared struggles and triumphs. It's more than advice; it's a tapestry of experiences that reminds us why we chose this path.

c.ozTrue To My HeartI stumbled onto the podcast by happy accident really, in search for an artist podcast that I could really relate to as an artist. I had a few podcasts that I would listen to already, but upon listening to the first episode, this podcast really sang true to my heart! It is now my favorite one of all! I usually just skip all around in the episodes list. I’m enjoying it so very much. Most of the time I listen on my morning dog walk and I also listen while I work in my studio. Sometimes I listen twice to my favorites, since there’s so much juicy information to digest. I also shared with my artist friend, Jenni and she loves it as well. We chat about the episodes we love and connect with the most too. Thank you, Margo! Cheryl Oz

r3746Thank youThank you Margo. I love this podcast! I look forward to it every week. I’ve made art my whole life and have always been told I can’t do it as a career. But now I feel like I discovered this parallel universe where all these people are making a career out of art making. It’s so inspiring to me. So much gratitude to have found this!
-
b_artistic1023Thank you.Listening to 8/10/22 podcast. I am currently transitioning from a 33 year career in education to making art. Of course, I have doubts about myself, my abilities and if anyone cares. But thank you for saying well into the podcast “tell your story because we care”. I need that.
-

BranchDesignIt’s Such a Joy to Listen to this Podcast!“Windowsill Chats” is one of my favorite podcasts. Margo and her guests make me not only feel connected with art, but connected with people whom I have never met. I appreciate the conversations about where each artist came from, how they got where they are, and what they are doing now—and plan to do in the future. It’s both fascinating and inspiring. There’s insight about creativity, but also about life and how to live a happy and joyful existence. I wish I had this podcast when I was in art school 20 years ago. Thank you for sharing this for all of us to absorb.
-

jules ArizonaWindowsill ChatsI have listened to every episode of Margo’s chats. She engages with each interviewee in a relaxed conversation, where I’m either learning something new, or nodding in agreement that I, too, have had a similar experience. I also have to add that an interviewer’s voice can either make, or break, whether I listen, and Margo’s voice is always so welcoming!
-
Patricia ZapataSo inspiring!I’ve been meaning to leave a review for a long time and it always slips my mind - embarrassing to admit that. The episode I listened to today (92) was extra special and really got to me. I just knew I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to thank Margo and her guest Beth for their generous info and inspiring chat. Guess who’s going to be writing some emails and beefing up their bio? ;) Margo - your podcast has kept me company during many hours of handiwork. I truly appreciate what you do to bring illuminating conversations and guests to those of us that soak it all in. Thank you!

Queen Anne's LaceMay 27th episodeMay 27 th episode was very inspiring. Thank you! I needed it.

fingerlakes artisanFabulous!!I save my windowsill chat podcasts for a time when I will not be interrupted, my commute to work or a long walk. As a health professional working with the elderly, I hear the wonderful personal stories they share, and the dreams they wish they had acted upon. It is inspiring to listen to creatives who believe in themselves and their talent. I am creative, a music therapist and a dabbler in many art forms. Water color class led to mixed media, which led to rug punch and now needle felting. And you know what- it is OK. I have heard your guests share similar creative journey’s. Thank you for the investment you are making to share their stories.

Such sunny, interesting conversations peeling back the curtain so we're able to learn more about the life of these renowned creatives. CjburchettFinding an agentGreat podcast! Question you may want to address, when should an artist look for an agent? Should you be done with masters first? Is there common age to start or number of exhibition?
-

queen_of_sonomaMy absolute FAVORITEMargot’s podcast brings all the best things together. First, Margot herself: her speaking voice is so smooth & winsome—I listen in the afternoon out in my studio. And then there is Margot’s personality: kind, curious, funny, encouraging, smart—she listens so well & so bonds with her guests. Her artist friend group is quite LARGE and she generously shares her connections and industry stories with all of us. As she asks each of her guests: “Who’s inspiring you?” I would answer, “You are, Margot— and your fabulous podcast. Thank you.
