Not a lot is told about djinn in European and western area it seems, so this is great to know about the origin and stories. Love her voice too, very easy on the ears.

So well researched and evocative. Particularly loved the visit to Morocco in ep 2 as I recently travelled there.

I was so excited when I discovered this oodcast! While in college, I went to Morocco. While there, I did a project on the worship practices of rural Muslim women. My advisor there, was an anthropologist who was Moroccan. And he had done a lot of work with the Gnawa. Working with him, I learned so much about djinn. this podcast was fascinating and enlightening. It was a trip down memory lane and I learned so much new information. Wonderful work.

Had a co-worker tell me about this podcast. This one is very interesting and the production is done really well.

Rabia is a wonderful storyteller with a phenomenal voice. I had not heard of djinn before discovering this podcast. I’ve learned so much from Hidden Djinn. At this point, I have heard all of the episodes multiple times and I can’t wait for more! Please please come back with new episodes!

So good! Strongly recommend if you want to learn about the world of YOU KNOW WHAT. Grew up with these stories, but I learned so many new things. Don’t recommend listening to this podcast in the dark!

After subscribing to all things spooky and finding myself still wanting… having only a superficial understanding of Djinn… this hidden gem both sates my supernatural sweet tooth and holds my spiritual beliefs intact. I love the stories. I love the wisdom gained from listening to the beautifully illustrated words from distant cultures… her voice is soothing and spooky… and i haven’t even touched on the creepiness and eerie and ubiquitous Djinn themselves! I love this podcast!

This review is long overdue. Absolutely one of the best researched and presented podcasts I’ve heard in a long time. For a Westerner, hearing the tales of Djinn make one wonder how they fold into tales of the supernatural from around the world. Rabia makes them so accessible, so almost present that you fall face first into the folklore, even if it’s not your own cultural experience. Please tell me there will be more! Simply brilliant. Bravo!

I found this podcast after reading Rabia’s wonderful memoir, Fatty Fatty Boom Boom. This show is equally wonderful, and a fascinating listen.

As someone who has recently gotten back into folklore this podcast has been a marvel of information, beautiful story telling, and my favourite dive into a subject I previously knew little about.

I absolutely love this podcast. I will be checking everyone’s feet now. Update: I’m re-listening to this podcast and it still gives me the best chills. Rabia has a beautiful voice, it makes the story telling all the better.

I love this podcast and the host. I am a history buff but this is far, far more! Being an American Midwesterner of Anglo-European descent, most of Rabia’s stories and history are new to me, and I am fascinated by every word. Her research is daunting, she is a great story-teller, and I admire her sense of humor. I have binged the first season on recent long drives, and time flies. Can’t wait to hear more.

I love this podcast! I’d gotten a copy of Tales of the Arabian Nights for my 8th bday and I read the stories aloud to each of my children. I love your stories! Of course you are sharing more information than my folk tales do. Surely if one can believe in angels, in Satan, then surely one can believe in the djinn. It’s written in the Quran. I would believe it if it were written in the Bible or the Torah. I’m not very familiar with Islam or the Quran but I do know it is one of the three major Abrahamic religions. I’m just pretty ignorant about it. I’m curious for more though. Thank you!!!!

Can’t believe I’ve never heard of this before!! I am relatively new to the whole podcast thing but I’ve been going strong for a little over a year now. I love history, horror stories (only read to me on podcasts bc I’m a big scaredy cat 🙀), and love learning about anything new or from other cultures or perspectives. I binge almost all of season one in one sitting. I never do that. This show is like sitting down with an old friend. The host is very charismatic, and entertaining. I’m looking forward to what’s next from Hidden Djinn. I can’t recommend this podcast enough. I’ve even got my brother who isn’t in to anything supernatural in to it. 👏

I’ve never bothered to write a review before, but I love this podcast. I’ve been fascinated by the Djinn for many years and I’ve never found a better source of info as this. Also the podcast is very professionally done, the host has a beautiful voice and wonderful personality, and the background music is perfect for the subject.

This has become quickly my new favorite podcast. Well researched and the audio used brings the story to life. If I could give more stars than 5 ⭐️I would.
