Erin HylandsI Love This Show!I started listening to this show when I discovered it in September. I had been planning to do nano for almost year at this point, and finding a podcast dedicated to nano was incredibly encouraging! I binge listened to all the episodes (minus like three that were restricted due to parental restrictions). I love the conversation aspect of the podcast. The only problem I have is this: I’m ready for the next episode! I even went and found Liz and Kristina on the nano website just to see your projects—wow! I can’t believe you’ve won so many times. I lost when I was fourteen and didn’t participate for years. I won this year, and it was the most fun writing project I’ve ever done. Thank you! You can rest assured I’ll be rewriting my nano project. While I have indie published several novels, this is a book I am going to one day have traditionally published. Thank you again!

GJSNYA Five Star Podcast on NaNoWriMoIf there was ever a segment on a morning show regarding NaNoWriMo there are certain people that should be interviewed. Chris Baty…yes. Grant Faulkner…yes. After Grant…it would be negligent not to interview Liz and Kristina. How to Win Nano is a great podcast that discusses NaNoWriMo in an encouraging way. Their knowledge about NaNoWriMo is so valuable. Liz and Kristian are generous with their time in creating this podcast. It is so nice to have How to Win Nano available for the writing journey. Thank you so much.

leilajjordanThe encouragement and info I needed!!Hi!! It’s my very first NaNoWriMo and I’ve been frantically looking for information to help me be successful. Your episode detailing the hero’s journey totally unlocked the details of my plot and I’m using the diagram you created!! Can’t wait to keep listening ❤️📕

LilyACG❤️I have won my second Nano this year and I couldn’t have done it without Liz and Kristina. Every Wednesday I check my Spotify to see if they released another episode. They supported me all throughout November. For the good days and the bad. (Definitely for the bad!) Thank you guys!❤️

LevanatPractical, fun, and encouraging!Listening to this podcast as I begin NaNoWriMo for the first time is so helpful and very enjoyable!

KindoratoCame for the tips, stayed for the encouragement (and tips)This will be my first NaNoWriMo (November 1st is about a week away, aah!!) and I’ve been binging all kinds of writing podcasts. But I love how Liz and Kristina tailor their show specifically for NaNoWriMo participants. There is no other show like How To Win NaNoWriMo. And from their advice, vulnerability, and wonderful humor (that opening and closing song make me grin every time), I just can’t get enough! Listening to their episodes feels like hanging out with writer friends. The last episode I listened to included, “Hey, remember that what you’re doing is amazing, and we’re so proud of you.” I got teary-eyed!! They’re the best, and I highly recommend this podcast.

sarahdoxJust what I needed! Not sure when I ran a across the podcast, but L love it! The great energy/synergy, practical focus and tips, tricks, and suggestions are just what I needed. Just binge-listened to both seasons. As soon as I can drop one of my other subscriptions I will join the Patreon. Hope you can get us all going this year! I was not prepared far enough ahead to jump into previous Nano year. This year will be the year. I've been making notes, dreaming, and thinking scenarios for over a decade - all aimed at creating a science fiction trilogy. I am a prolific reader and a periodic writer. I have recently chosen to start with writing key characters into their own short stories before weaving them into the first book's draft during NanoWrimo 2021. Fingers crossed. ⌨️🖋🤞🏼

alicht929Fun NaNo Tips!I think the first time I ever heard of NaNoWriMo was from Kristina Horner’s YouTube channel, many years ago. I was recently made aware of this podcast from a NaNoWriMo group and did a little bit of a double take when I saw that she was the host! Anyway, I haven’t gone back and listened to old episodes yet, but from what I’ve heard I can confidently say this a great podcast for anyone looking for tips and motivation for getting through the month!

FascinomaeGenuine and GenerousThank you for the actionable advice and inspiration. I’ve binged the first season of your podcast and took copious notes on the tips you shared. I appreciate your generosity greatly.

summerinwiIt’s like spending time with close friends!I recently finished binge listening to this podcast, and I absolutely loved it! This will be my 6th year trying NaNo, and as I have never crossed the finished line, I am determined to hit 50,000 words. Listening to all of the tips and stories and just... listening to what other writers have to say makes me feel so motivated, and wishing it was already November! I am still hoping there will be future episodes, but if not, I look forward to revisiting my favorite episodes on the tough days in November!

novamoon42Great Writing Inspo!Discovered this podcast last week and have already listened to all but two episodes. LOVE. I’m not actually participating in NaNo in the traditional write-50,000-words-in-30-days way but I am trying to get back into writing fiction by writing 500 words per day and this podcast has been immensely helpful. The tips and tricks they share are useful for all fiction writers so even if you’re not doing NaNo this year still listen to this podcast. It’s fantastic. 👌

celiacprincessBest thing everI started doing NaNo in 08 and only managed to win a few (does the time I wrote well over 50k in college papers mostly in November count? Because it should) but I’m at the BEST life spot now for winning and this podcast took me from doing NaNo for the sake of not skipping a year to being SUPER excited to get these words written. Love love love these ladies, love the topic, love the advice... let’s win NaNo! (Also if this sounds crazy, it’s because I’ve written almost 3k words today to catch up on a late start and I don’t have any brain power left. Such is life.)

CarmellasJewelryLove this PodcastIf you’re a NaNoWriMo participant, you MUST listen to this podcast. It’s so motivational and adds such a delightful sense of community to this crazy and awesome time of year. I have been a NaNo winner 3 times so far and I wish this podcast was around for each previous year. It makes me feel so much less like a crazy person for committing so much of my time each November to getting words down. THANK YOU Liz and Kristina!!

chaeleafThis Show Is So Fun!This show managed to get me so hyped for my first Nanowrimo. I hadn’t written in years and I started trying to find any podcast I could to get me both in the mindset for Nano and to get me last the hold out of nerves. HtWN is my fave!

tealeafbayleafJust What I Needed!I’m so glad I found this podcast a week or so before NaNo. Insightful, fun, and informative. I feel like I have two NaNoWriMo friends on speaker phone when I listen.

7th Year MiracleMagical and magnificentI’m a 6 year NaNoWriMo veteran. Actually, I should say this is my 7th year attempt-to-win-try-not-to-fail-again NaNoWriMo prayer to the Gods. I’ve failed every year since 2013. I desperately need a hand to hold and your podcast quickly became my miracle. Thank you for your energy, inspiration, savvy suggestions, and comforting wisdom. You’ve got a devoted fan. Joanne P.S. I love the whip crack in your jingle.

Darla MarieLove itI’m doing Nanowrimo for the first time this year and found this podcast. I’m glad I did. Great tips and the hosts are so enthusiastic which makes you excited to get started too. I’m going to subscribe!

Joel BassInspiration for NaNo HeadsI’m coming back to NaNoWriMo after 10 years away, and Horner and Leo are full of great ideas and encouragement, making me feel like I can do this. I’m gonna write a freakin’ book!
-
AlexandraKay97This is fantastic!I’ll be participating in NaNoWriMo for the first time this year, and just happened to find this podcast in my search for writing content to fill my time with until then. Imagine my surprise when it was not only still going, but it was new! It’s been entertaining, encouraging, and oh so helpful! You two have been an amazing inspiration as I embark on this adventure, and I can’t wait to sprint with you on Twitter!!

lilacsicalQueens of NaNo? AbsolutelyI’ve been following Kristina in probably 2013 when I was in middle school, and she’s the one who originally introduced me to NaNoWriMo! I’ve been attempting every year since then, but this podcast has really helped get me in the mindset this year (so maybe I’ll finally win lol). Would definitely recommend it to anyone who’s thinking about doing Nano as well as Nano veterans! Kristina and Liz are upbeat, funny, and a joy to listen to as they guide you through the Nano process, so here’s to 50k!!

Hannah the WolfHelpful & InspiringI started NaNoWriMo in 2011 after watching a video by Kristina and it really helped just try to write a novel. Although I did one in 2012 and 2018, I didn't really like any of what I had written because it made no sense and was very inconsistent. I still suffer from very low self-esteem as I experienced a lot of bad and unhelpful critique in my workshop classes. This podcast not only is very informative and helpful in terms of tips and tricks, but also really inspires me to just get up and write. I may not be a strong fiction writer as I mostly write poetry. Yet Kristina and Liz, who sounds so adorable, give me the strength and the encouragement to keep me going and not overthink everything. I highly recommend this podcast not just for NaNoWriMo but for writing in general because they made me feel like I can achieve my dream of being a novel writer. For that I am eternally grateful.

mr geeky gadgetBinged every episodeI love how down to earth these ladies are! Just real humans sharing valuable tips and tricks they have picked up through years of experience. They are funny and informative, what’s not to love?!

Acquired podcast reviewAll the enthusiasm and motivation you need to win nanoKristina and Liz bring an amazing amount of enthusiasm and positive motivation to their podcast. Whether you're a Nanorimo veteran or just a writer thinking of getting into it, this podcast is a great place to start!

BruhLetmeSleepAn Absoutly Remarkable Podcast! My favorite thing about this podcast is that it celebrates all kinds of writing! Liz and Kristina are so warm and welcoming as hosts and are geninuly excited about making a NaNo community no matter what kind of writer you are! I abouslty love listening and hearing their storys and tips, it feels less like they are all knowing professors granting us with their master class (Severus Snape style) and more so cool older seniors wanting to help and celeberate everyone new and old in the NaNo community. So much love for this little part of the internet. <3

EntropycatLovedI’ve loved Kristina Horner since her days on YouTube- it’s great to see her join the podcast world!
