NYC ErinTrue, Motivational, Educational. Like listening to a good friendI have been listening to Hurdle and following Emily for a few years now. My friends introduced me to the show when I was training for my first big race: the 2019 NYC Half Marathon. I’d been a D1 lacrosse player and played various sports all my life, but navigating fitness and nutrition on my own post-grad was harder than I’d expected. I connected with Emily’s sentiments, approaches to fitness, nutrition, overall wellness and her natural mix of professionalism, poise, and relatability. I took her advice in training and later went on to run the NYC Marathon, Chicago Marathon, and Berlin Marathon - listening to Emily and following her tips every step of the way. In the last few months as a fellow 30-something living in the city, I’ve started listening to Hurdle every morning as I prepare to take on the day. It’s amazing how much I look forward to Emily’s interviews, guests, insights, and five-minute-Friday’s. I was also fortunate enough to go to Emily’s goal-setting workshop in January which was more powerful than I could’ve imagined. She’s hardworking, smart, elegant, fun to listen to, and feels like a very good (motivated & motivating) friend. She always seems to know just what to say/post/inquire right when you need to hear it. I also highly recommend her as your new favorite style icon. Keep up the great work!

Britany A.Inspiring, uplifting, relatableI started with episode 101 featuring Natalie Kuhn of “The Class.” I had not heard of Emily before but wanted to learn more about Natalie. I was immediately drawn in by the honest exchange and fun tone Emily set. I’ve especially enjoyed the interviews with Kerri Walsh Jennings (episode 117) and Coach Bennett (episode 120). I also like the personal reflections in 5-minute Friday. Thanks Emily for keeping it real, handing out some motivation, and creating connection.

SheplusthreeeGave me the confidence to runI recently found Emily through a client of mine who ran in the LA marathon. She inspired me to start my own running journey and suggested the Hurdle Podcast. Emily is such a delight to listen to and has taught me SO much in a short span of time. I’m grateful for her knowledge and expertise, making it easier for me to navigate my way through this journey with a lot more confidence! Excited to continue learning and growing in this community ❤️ 🏃🏻♀️➡️

Em.hillREALLY helped meMy name is also Emily, so that’s what first caught my eye when I stumbled across this podcast. Her story is amazing and was relatable for me. I was going through a big change when I first started listening on my morning/evening commute. Emily and her guests motivated me to keep going when I had some really tough days. I stopped being scared of my job and started realizing that I am capable of the work set out for me. I am actually a better person now because of this podcast.
-
Bfo16Listen!My favorite podcast. I started listening a few years ago and continue to be impressed with the lineup of guests. Emily is a great interviewer. Regardless of my fitness goals at the time, Hurdle makes me feel motivated and inspired to get after them!
-

ERoseFTWA new go to pod for meEmily is insightful, funny, raw, helpful, interesting and honest. Her lineup of guests is so dope and she has a unique way of pulling such great nuggets of information out of people. Every runner and athlete should give this a listen.

JM_SBFavorite ListenHurdle podcast by Emily is my favorite listen multiple times a week! I look forward to the Monday full length, then the 5-minute Friday episodes! Solo, guests, and listener question feedback are educational and inspirational!
-
Becca NeugsRelatable & inspiring !!Emily is the sweetest human talking about all things that we face daily and goals we look forward to achieving. She gives the best tips and tricks on finding motivation and inspires me to be the best version of myself ! I absolutely love ending my week and starting my weekend (early) with 5 minute Friday. Gives me something to keep me on track while it’s so easy to slip off routine during the weekend. So happy to stumble upon Emily’s account, I love everything she’s doing !!
-
Heike Y.Refreshing!Emily’s podcast is a breath of fresh air. As a former Ultramarathon runner and now Ironman Triathlete I appreciate the insights for training for sports. But what caught my eye was the solo travel episode - which I loved. I used to ravel solo until I got re-married and now my husband loves my travel ideas. Still I travel solo as much as I can and meeting people along the way is incredible.
-
Brandon.KastroAlways Dropping The Gold of WisdomI’ve been listening to this podcast for over a year now, and I can honestly say that there is something new that I learn after every show. There is so much great information that I’ve been able to apply to my life to enhance my quality of living that makes me so grateful for Emily‘s investments into this show. Highly recommend to all of my friends all the time!
-
sadiebellandtuckA must in my podcast libraryI love Hurdle— the podcast, the mindset, and the community. Running (and life) can feel isolating and Hurdle is one way, one part of my weekly routine, that makes me feel like my experiences, challenges, the highs and lows, are not mine alone. Emily has a wealth of knowledge herself and her guests offer expertise on things that I care about that I am certain I wouldn’t come across elsewhere. As someone who isn’t living in a big city or doesn’t have a bunch of running friends, Hurdle was a well appreciated find.
-
AleHinosEmily rocks!Hurdle is one of my favorite podcast! It helped me going through my first half marathon and other hurdles in life. My family is not in the same country as I am and I find hard to build new relationships but as lonely as it sound I found my “community” in the podcasts that I listen to, this one is one of those, I always learn something, find joy, hope and puts an smile on my face, thank you Emily, keep that good work going 🫶🏻
-
JackieSoosHot girl walk fuelI love this podcast so much. Emily is a fantastic interviewer - and the range in wellness-focused or wellness adjacent guests are always teaching me something new or motivating me to be a better version of myself. I listen religiously on my daily hot girl walks.
-
DMB_MBBTHE BESTI’ve been listening to Hurdle for 2+ years and this is hands down my favorite podcast. I love all of the different guests that Emily has from Peloton instructors to athletes to self help gurus. I always finish my weekly listening session feeling empowered & wanting to be a better person—can’t say that about many things these days! Thanks Emily for your amazing content, I hope to cross paths with you at a Hurdle meet up someday!!

A. RunnerRUN to listen to this!Emily has one of those voices you feel like you could listen to, chat with, or run to! The content of each podcast hits the nail in the head every. Single. Time! Looking for motivation ✔️ Looking for marathon prep ✔️ Looking for female empowerment (works for both men & women, hence the feminist movement) ✔️✔️✔️ She’s writing all the articles, recording all the podcast and kill in’ it in the game of LIFE! *edit - it’s so much more than just running! This “wellness” podcast focuses not just on the physical but mental, emotional and growth! I highly recommend her newest with Yung Pablo 💕
-
Amanda T2inspiring, motivating, and comfortingHurdle was the first running/wellness podcast I listened to when I first started running, and even though my playlist has now grown, this podcast remains a constant companion on numerous tough long runs. I’ve learned so much about strength and overcoming hurdles not just from the diverse list of guests on the show, but from Emily herself.
-
amelia1886Great interviewsI always look forward to this show - Emily is a great interviewer and her cadence with questions and conversations is on point. She is compassionate and so dedicated to picking helpful guests week to week… plus her solo episodes are full of wisdom as well! Perfect for a morning commute or long run.
-
CorgiUWUNot just a running podcastYes, it’s a podcast mostly about running but it’s just as much a podcast centered around well being. It would benefit anyone interested in having a overall more positive outlook on life. 10/10 recommend.
-
Runkate.runMust listen!Hurdle is a must listen for me each week! I started listening as a runner, but I stayed listening for the positivity and wellness which helps shape the best me. Give Emily a listen, you won’t be disappointed!

Cb22222222)8The best part of my week!Hurdle is the podcast that I cannot wait to listen to every week. I’m a runner but also love to talk about health and wellness and Emily does such a great job interviewing guests of all disciplines and inspiring the listeners every week! I appreciate her candid 5-minute Fridays and honesty every single week. She inspires me to go out on my runs on days I don’t feel like it, and encourages me to take care of myself when I don’t feel like it too. Highly recommend this light in a sometimes dark world!
-

KikaMerikaA must listen!I have been listening to Hurdle for years now and love the wide array of athletes, CEOs and everyone in between (see what I did there?!?). Emily asks great questions and has a way of guiding the conversation without feeling like there is an agenda. As i runner, I also love all the great running content that’s geared towards your average recreational runner. Big fan!

runeatcakerunHurdle fanI love Emily’s podcast. My favorite is Five Minute Friday - I look forward to listening to it while I warm up for my Friday run. Added bonus- I’ve been introduced to some of my other favorite podcasters and influencers through Hurdle.
-
embowlden77inspirational and actionableIn an industry far too focused on quick fixes and monological approaches to wellness, Hurdle offers a welcome change of pace by bringing in diverse guests, as well as Emily's open, always-inquisitive, inspiring voice.
-
Kyco22Actionable content, unique but relatable guestsI love seeing which guest pops up next on Hurdle because Emily has a real knack for inviting a diverse pool of people whose stories and perspectives are unique, insightful, but also relatable. There’s always an actionable takeaway,to be found in the episodes. Love Hurdle
-
KeefshootsAn excellent podcast for all ranges of runnersLove Emily’s show & attention to detail. Every episode is a well-rounded insight into many different aspects of the running world from many perspectives. Each guest brings their experience and I find it very entertaining & informative.
-
face_of_kaseA well-rounded & real podcastLong-time listener, first-time reviewer (sorry for that!) and I’m here to say: just listen once. That’s all you need to connect with Emily and her guests. Although running is my sport of choice, I’ve enjoyed each episode (running related or not) and can have taken some pearl of wisdom away from them too. Emily’s passion and smile as a host can be heard through your headphones and, man, if that doesn’t make you smile I don’t know what will.
-
Hladgunnrthe1stPop psych LCDWow. A whole lot of nothing.
-
Baker7689A must listen! This podcast has become a must listen for me. Emily brings so many dimensions to her podcast - authenticity, honesty, honest questions. Her interviews are insightful, relevant and always interesting. She has introduced me to a wide variety of voices in the wellness and fitness field that I wouldn't otherwise know about. Keep up the great work Emily, and I'll be there listening!! Julie B
-
r3dddddddddGreat showGreat variety of topics and guests. I also appreciate Emily sharing her fitness journey.
-
mrsb0417MehHurdle has changed it’s tune as of late. It’s really moving away from its original fitness-oriented content and feels very preachy and life coach-y. If that’s your bag, you’ll probably love it. Also, how many Peloton instructors does one person need to interview?
-
agomezliconEnlightening, inspirationalLoved the episode with Rad Lopez. It was truly something special.
-
Kay62290DNew thought from a long time listenerI have been listening to Hurdle for a long time and love when I see guests that I follow or know of in other ways (like all the Peloton guests :)) but I realized today that no matter whether I knew the guest or not, Emily always sets up the conversation so I can relate to the person or I learn something. Admittedly I know very little about cycling, but there were so many great nuggets in Sarah Strum’s episode about career changes and other aspects of life. Just a reminder that all episodes of Hurdle are amazing! Thanks Emily for connecting your listeners to a wide range of smart, talented and overall cool people in the wellness space and beyond!
-
Shannyn PearceSo encouraging and REAL!I love how real Emily is. It’s so encouraging to not feel alone when I hit a hurdle. Listening to other people share their hurdle moments really helps when things feel tough, thank you Emily!!!
-
Jessica MarkusAmazing show!I have just started listening to this podcast and it is informative, inspirational, and entertaining. Emily does a wonderful job of showcasing athletes that have meaningful messages to share with the athletic community. I especially like the wrap around support/information to the episodes presented in her social media feed. I’ve reached out with questions that have been answered by her personally, which is awesome. She’s also working to build a community of listeners in real life with meet ups and community gatherings. Highly recommend.
-
kerijonesEverything I didn’t know I needed each week!Simply the best: raw, real, fun, vulnerable, inspiring and relatable. A few of my favorite hours each week!
-
nmledesmaForever a HurdlerI stumbled upon this podcast as I became more serious about my running and never looked back. Emily has helped me balance life and running, train smarter, and become a bigger fan of the sport. Can’t thank her enough for that. Be a Hurdler- you won’t regret it.

MF WilliamsNot just for athletes! This podcast isn’t just for athletes, it’s for anyone who has ever faced a challenge. It inspires, makes you laugh, and gets to the heart of difficult moments and decisions that creates a little more empathy and a whole lot of motivation. Emily has incredible journalistic integrity and often shares candidly from her own life and experiences. Listen on a run, in the car, making dinner, anywhere and you’ll leave with more knowledge, heart, and motivation than you came with.
