JenJen_MTBest Interviews!Scot is the best interviewer out there…always a must listen!

bunyippMichael DouglasExcellent interview covering his career and tying it all together with the new series, “Franklin.”

*EVIL4LIFE*Live audience episodes unbearableLove this podcast but the live episodes with an audience are really annoying. I don’t mind them clapping for the opening segment and asking questions but their need to clap and hoot every little thing is distracting and makes the episode unlistenable
-
TGAthensSaltburnVery disappointed in that this episode (“Saltburn”) was really an interview with the director and her work, and not a review or discussion of Saltburn. The host devoted the first hour to a general interview beginning with the insightful interview questions “Where were you born? What did your parents do for a living?” The last 25 mins did provide some discussion of Saltburn but after an hour of “chatter”, I was no longer interested.

cujo344308Best Awards PodcastThis podcast is fantastic because of Scott Feinberg. Scott is thoughtful and knowledgeable. He does his research before he interviews his guests, and sometimes even knows the guest’s body of work better than the guests themselves. It is so refreshing for an awards themed podcast to have a sane host who doesn’t make the podcast all about themselves and actually knows what he is talking about. Scott is a gem and I look forward to each new episode of this show!
-
OreocookiedogScottScott is ALWAYS prepared and you can tell his guests appreciate it.
-
Mellie144Paul GiamattiScott’s research is amazing but the best of all is his ability to really listen and convey a genuine interest. One of his very best interviews amongst many great ones.
-
orwellllGood interviewsScott is a good interviewer in that he asks a question and lets the guest fully respond before speaking again. Other entertainment reporters need to take note.

Skyebee KimThe Humanity of the CelebrityScott does a great job at getting to the center of the humanity of the celebrities he interviews. His questions demonstrate his vast knowledge and he gets the celebs to open up and share anecdotes and personal sentiments that you don't typically hear elsewhere. Malala’s episode is one of my favorites so far this year, but so many good ones!
-
gracial00Keep them coming!Scott approaches his interviews with genuine interest, detail, and consideration for the subject’s work, while also managing to get intimate, profound responses and details out of his interviewees by asking thought-provoking questions. Being in the business for a number of years, you can tell that he is obviously well-versed in current film/tv/culture, but unlike other podcasts, he doesn’t come across as a fanboy and lets his journalism experience guide his interviews. His subjects always seem like they’re enjoying themselves. Definitely a must listen for not only people in the industry, but for anyone who wants to sit back and listen to well-researched conversations with celebrities/personalities/auteurs recounting their path to where they are today.
-
Alison Marilyntop notch!Scott is the most prepared interviewer and always manages to get the very best from his subjects! Every episode is truly fascinating. He’s a class act expert.
-
Sheila.MaiScott does all the homework so we don’t have toI have listened to every episode of this podcast! Scott Feinberg is an insightful and diligent interviewer. All the guests (except for one notable one) on this podcast feels engaged with Scott so every conversation is rewarding for the listeners. If I had a nickel every time a guest says “Scott, you really did your homework!” I would be able to afford eggs 😅 if you love movies and movie history, start listening!

rkbrown24This Is Not Journalism. It’s PRYou are a cog in the misogyny wheel in Hollywood. FYI: The Hollywood Reporter was the gossip rag of choice by Harvey Weinstein to dispute the fact that Weinstein was a rapist, and horrific monster to women. Then, listening to the awful statements made by Scott about how Harvey Weinstein treated HIM (during the Renée Zellweger interview). This is not a podcast: this is a public relations piece for every single Hollywood star Scott and his team can get their fingers on. Couple that with the fact that you have multiple pieces still listed with men accused of, and proven to have sexually harassed, assaulted & intimidated women available (Weinstein, Woody Allen, Louis CK) demonstrates the lack of character that this podcast and its entire staff holds.

adeles90Scott asks the questions I don’t even know I haveScott is a great interview partner for the featured guests. He gives their answers room to breathe but drives the conversation forward at a great pace. I am able to better understand the art created by the guests because of his interviews. Highly recommend!

desilu 52Why am I so late to this partyThis has to be the best podcast out there. I’m so happy to have many joyous hours ahead of me. Thanks so much.

Greedy_stanLoved the selena interview!!!The narrator truly went in-depth for the interview and gave Selena the opportunity to speak her truth with talking over her..

amberwegner777Best Podcast EVER!!!I started listening to Awards Chatter a few months ago. I started with episode 1 and I’m now on episode 195. I just can’t get enough! Scott Feinberg is an amazing host and asks the sometimes hard questions with such respect and grace. There is a genuine love and respect for the entertainment industry and all of the players in it that really shines through. As an actor and podcast host myself, I really appreciate the conversations. They inspire me everyday to keep going! Thank you for this podcast. I LOVE IT! Amber Wegner-Actors Inspiration Podcast

KékcsillagInteresting guests with an annoying hostSure, sure, the guests are acting icons and I’m interested in what they have to say but I find the host, Scott, more often than not annoying. First, the voice. Ugghhh! Second, he does this “mhmm.. mhmm… hmmmm” back to people like Gary Oldman or Robert DeNiro which is rather disrespectful and unprofessional.
-
DebTomaiMy favorite podcast!Scott does a ton of research and asks good questions. It’s interesting to hear about artists’ backgrounds and what has influenced them through the years. I was more interested in the 2022 awards season because I had learned so much about the different films and creative people involved.
-
Gordon1216A+Best industry podcast out there, maybe my favorite podcast ever? Scott continuously outdoes himself with the level of depth, preparation, and specificity with which he approaches each guest. Every time I’m hoping he asks something, he does. Just really top notch stuff.
-
ThomasRFitzGI love it!Thank you for many hours of entertainment!
-
Sbrow777Tone Deaf moment killed my interestI used to absolutely love this podcast but Scott’s handling of bringing up Woody Allen was mortifying. Allen man is widely known and accused as being a rapist. Yet Scott chose to hype him up in his interview with Penelope Cruz and emphatically implied what an honor it is working for him. As a journalist, there is a way to phrase things and these handle things. He could’ve simply acknowledged the movie and Allen without any of the editorialism. Extremely insensitive to his victims. Has Scott and the Hollywood reporter not learned anything? This is very disturbing and disappointing.
-
Marcella's daughterFran Lebowitz et alFantastic interview/discussion. Fran’s insights and commentary to your questions, superb. Scott, great style, a real gift for the conversational interview.
-
NancTeeAlways interesting … one of the bestI have loved every episode. Look forward to every new edition.
-
Sunny WunderTodd HaynesScott, I like to listen to this podcast because it gives me an in-depth view of the creators of our movies. Mr. Haynes should be a therapist as part of his résumé because he really understands the interiority of his characters.
-
RyPa88Great PodcastScott does a great job! I love every podcast. The interviews are well researched. He asks great questions. This is my favorite film podcast.
-
kimm1721Gillian AndersonBest interview I’ve heard in a long time! I’ve been a huge fan of her for years and you asked so many questions I wanted the answers to! Talk shows always are too quick, and usually about 1 topic, but this was so informative and enjoyable. I learned so much about one of my favorites! I’ll definitely check out other interviews.
-
funierSimply the BestAmazing interviewer, interesting subjects, and you should get Tony and Oscar awards for all your good an important work. In fact make that an EGOT!
-
Lovely Library LadyThe BEST!!!Thank you for so many hours of brilliant entertainment, Scott! You deserve a Peabody or a Pulitzer for this show!
-
lll247489Amazing InterviewerWell researched, fun, light, but thorough. Such great insight
-
Rosmry1023The best interviewer ever!Scott is phenomenal. To name just a few reasons: The research he brings, the way he listens, his humor and empathy. From Carson to Larry King, Scott is the smartest, most psychologically minded, polite gentleman I have ever listened to!
-
JayDeeChaseRenee ZGenerally I think people appreciate sincerity. Scott is a well prepared professional. Renee is a treasured cinematic figure. Exploring the depths of her career in a heartfelt style, Scott turned the interview into a conversation that seemed to be of genuine interest to both. I enjoyed hearing Renee turn the tables on Scott a couple of times, asking for his thoughts as well. That is authentic dialog, and it had me wishing the conversation would have continued beyond the hour. Being new to this podcast, I do look forward to exploring the library of interviews I missed over the last 4-5 years.

-
oaklandshyneGreat podcastScott Feinberg is such an excellent interviewer. So prepared, thoughtful and even reflective at times. I especially appreciate how he responds to interview subjects when they push him to reframe his thinking (like in the Kerry Washington interview). Still, I watch/listen to a lot of Hollywood reporter podcasts, interviews and round tables and I do wish they would ask everyone (and not just ppl of color) about racism in Hollywood and ask everyone (and not just women) about sexism in Hollywood, etc. Its subject matter that’s important to all of us and would set a better precedent for interviews moving forward.
-
darthfleurInspiringI’m a filmmaker who hasn’t broken in yet and listening to this helps me believe more in my dreams.
-
MassjenConsistently fantasticScott delves into professional choices, work method, and personal motivations. He is thorough, prepared, and respectful. He might be the single biggest fan of the film industry, writ large, that I know of. His passion and enthusiasm for his subjects, their work, and time in which they work is irresistible. I recommend episodes of this podcast to friends more than any other.
-
Damian Jason WhiteOne of the best podcast...podcast that interviews and gets personal with some of our favorite entertainers today. Scott is so incredibly deep with his research on each guest. Some of my favorites moments each episode, is when he ask a guest a question and they have a very impressed reaction to the amount of research that he did to prep for the interview. He makes the guest and listeners feel incredibly comfortable which makes it even easier for them to open up and be themselves. A must listen podcasts, that always has me excited to see who will be on next.
-
michemidl1One of my favorite podcasts!I absolutely love this podcast. As an Actress, I appreciate hearing these in depth interviews with Actors and filmmakers. Scott is a wonderful Host and always so well researched. I was honored to have him on my podcast and learn about his journey. I've been a fan of Awards Chatter for years! I highly recommend Jennifer Lawrence, Denzel Washington, Lily James, Amanda Seyfried, Meryl Streep, Oprah, and more. Check out his Interview, Episode 20 of Mentors on the Mic. - Michelle
-
spade1jsNever DisappointsScott does his homework on every guest (and there seriously isn’t a single guest that disappoints) and comes with meaningful, deep, and interesting questions that often go against that typical pop culture “who are you wearing” type questions we usually painfully sit through. If you love television and film, the art of acting and filmmaking, and love to hear about the moments that lead to where someone you admire is today this is 100% a podcast you’ll fall in love with. In particular, with 2020 being a dumpster fire year that we’ve all found ourselves locked up at home with little social interaction, this podcast has become more of a lifeline than I could have imagine when I started listening to it two years ago. My hats off to Scott for exceptional journalism, great guests, some good laughs, and his contagious excitement for all things filmmaking.
