Episodes abruptly end halfway thru - lazy editing of recycled content
I understand that they are recycling webinar content, and that is OK with me. But very often, the content just ends halfway through. On episode 282 for instance, the speaker is doing a helpful review of weekly planning sessions. It’s an 11 step process, and I was enjoying this beneficial refresher. But then it literally ends halfway through the steps. Almost comically, the last line of the episode is: “All right. After projects, what next? Checklists.” The end. Again, I understand that the content they are sharing on the free podcast is from sessions with paid coaching clients, but this is just lazy and annoying.

    Interviews
Anna Marie’s voice and tone is so grating. She sounds like a scolding know it all and half the time her advice doesn’t make sense. Keep John Forrester, please replace Anna Marie!! Too much!

    Unbearable audio quality
Fix the poor audio quality and I’ll listen to every episode. Love the content but the only medium through which I’m consuming this is audio. The irony is not lost on me that this is a podcast that talks about the competent way to do things

    Very inspirational
I’ve been listening to GTD since covid hit, I accidentally discovered it once I found my appreciation for podcasts. I’m not a business owner, or a company leader, but I relate SO much to everything on this podcast. I’m only a senior in university and I feel like this podcast and the book has really changed my life!! It’s a very happy accident that I found my way to GTD!!

Helpful info but audio needs work
Helpful and insightful info, but please get Mr. Allen a better microphone. There’s an echo and also a lot of excess background noise that makes the podcast unpleasant to listen to. Could also try to edit the sound from the guests as well.

    Great insight into GTD
I am relatively new to GTD and this podcast gave me lot of valuable tips My favorite episode is the one about integrating horizons which really helped me bring it all together illustrating how ground level can take you towards higher levels! Thank you David and Anna Maria!

    Good content, unbearable audio
I stopped listening to the podcast because of the poor sound mixing. Please, fix the volume discrepancy between the dialogue and the intro/outro music! The conversations sound like they are recorded over the phone with very poor audio quality. I have to turn the volume up way too much to catch everything. Then the outro music blows out my eardrums. I’m done with the podcast until they fix their audio. Save your eardrums; read the books.

Where is episode one and two?
It’s kind a hard to start the thing if the beginning is not there.

    Endearing
What a lovey, practical, and generous gift right now. The wacky little bursts of clicky keyboard typing make me smile!!! Thanks David— you’re a balm.
  • TonyRoseNC
    Stop that keyboard typing!
Love the tips Dave but that keyboard typing is driving my misophonia off the charts!

    Short and On Point
These are just about the right length to tackle on the office commute or just a walk or while working out. The hour or hour and a half long podcasts that abound out there are too much to get your head around in a reasonable time or one sitting. The beauty of the GTD podcasts is that they are essentially random slices of the various GTD topics and you can dip in anywhere. Just pick up a little new info or approach here and there. The complaints about just being a vehicle to sell are absurd. Can you name one, just one, podcast that doesn’t try to sell you something? Get real people. If you don’t like the GTD podcast because of the low key sales pitch then I have to assume you don’t like any podcasts in general.

    I've followed GTD for Years
Thank you, David Allen for spending the time to release this podcast. I've benefited greatly from using the GTD system in my daily work and life.

    Incredible show
I love the tactical, honest and real rawness David delivers in this podcast. I hit subscribe and definitely can’t wait for the next show!!! For that listener that is ADDICTED to creating their future. For the listener who KNOWS they are destined for greatness but didn’t believe they could actually make money in it.

    Won't keep you coming back!
I started with the first few episodes and I was bored to death. No real engaging stuff that makes me want to listen further.I came here after I saw a Google search suggestion of the top productivity podcasts and according to me Jimkwik podcasts are amazing..It felt boring to listen to why their system would benefit someone rather than actually getting a tip we can put into practice and see results and come back for more..

Great insight, bu wish he'd stop with the stand-up
Really informative guidance for organizing your life. Very insightful with a lot of 'aha' moments. The non-lecture episodes are very good. My only criticism involves those seminars of David lecturing in front of an audience. Understandably, there are things about the system that bear repeating in order to reinforce the ideas (ie. "Your brain is for having ideas, not for holding them," "Write it down"). But in the lectures, he brings up the same examples we just heard multiple times in previous episodes (ie."notice the color red around you," "don't just write 'mom' on your to-do list, "I spent 16 hours with a ceo once"). To someone who listens to every episode, it gets tired. It also feels like we're listening to different open-mike nights of a beginner comedian trying out the same material. It's not just the periodic Jerry Seinfeld "Have you ever noticed...," it's the constant "Come on...!" he keeps repeating over and over, the silly voices, his laughing uproariously at his own jokes. It might be the impulse to 'perfrom 'in front of an audience since he doesn't do it in conversations, but whatever the reason, it's a little much. Side note: they smartly changed the sound to separate segments on each episode. It's now the theme song, but originally, for some reason, they used the sound of a bullet being fired! They might go back and edit that out of the early episodes.

    Productivity
Really enjoyed the GTD podcast and I’ve been following David’s GTD system for over 20 years. Always leads to more productivity.

    Avid GTDer here
A little preview into the GTD corporation archives, it’s a teaser for getting you to join their subscription website community, yet there is some good content for free here.

Don’t let the simplicity fool you - this is powerful
GTD could be described as common sense on steroids but there is so much more to it. If used correctly, it can seriously change your life and overcome the feeling of overwhelm that happens so often in modern adult life. Even if you’ve read the book, these podcasts are worth listening to many times. Depending on your current situation and focus, each one of these podcasts lights up a new perspective, a new approach or reinforces some technique that hasn’t been used in a while. These deserve six stars!
  • WikiGuy
    Bored to death
I listened to the first 11 episodes. Little or no value because it was really boring. Just Read the book and implement the system. This podcast is waste of time. Of course, greed sets in and they want you to upsell you their web products.
  • Bsteineckert
    More like this!
Need more email MGMT tips. Suggestions: 1. Using search instead of folders 2. CC proper use 3. “Rules” to filter out memos/bulk email or listserv emails. 4. BLUF bottom line up front 5. Good subject lines (avoid generic subjects that give no info: “update” “question” “hey”) 6. Turn off new email alerts, or only keep VIP alerts. 7. Use your task list for follow up and actions.

    Offensive Language
In episode 35, the word “Niggervisionary” is used. Offensive, racist language, just FYI for those planning to listen to that episode.

    Great podcast!
Really enjoy the short podcasts focusing on single issues.

    Great productivity podcast
I have become a big proponent of planning, organizing, lists, etc! This podcast has been an incredible find! I thought I was well organized and stress free till the first time I did a brain sweep! I binge listen to the podcast and I can't wait to get the book to fully learn this technique!
  • jarhedhntr
    Hooked already
I knew from the first podcast I heard that's needed this in my life. I bought the book and can't wait to get it started. Empowering isn't strong enough to describe it.
  • None to speak of at all
    No real content here.
I appreciate the positivity of this podcast for the product the are selling. However, SELLING IS WHAT IS BEING DONE HERE. I must agree with another reviewer who pretty much summed it up when they pointed out that the program is really just an informercial disguised as a podcast. Don't bother unless you may be interested in hearing about how to spend your money on their system and it's questionable usefulness. If you're already not an organized sort of person then it may just be a good way to waste your money and make them richer. That's my perspective. Let the buyer beware.

    Straight up GTD

    Great investment of time...
Leonardo da Vinci said, "Learning never exhausts the mind.” This podcast delivers and will leave you energized and equipped to be both efficient and effective.

    Excellent Podcast
Practical, and the right length: long enough to get into some meaningful content and depth, yet short enough to consume relatively quickly. I love to listen to these in my drive into work. It's also a great way to feel connected to the GTD community, hear other stories (and relate to some of them), and "stay on the wagon".

    Diversity Please
I find some of the content useful and enlightening but this podcast is absolutely crying out for more representation of diversity - in terms of gender, ethnicity, age, and the professional areas in which interviewees are involved.

    infomercial disguised as a podcast
the david allen company had a real podcast with real content on itunes from 2009 to 2013 this is an infomercial [for GTD connect] disguised as a podcast. i find this practice appalling to those of us who try to spend our time effectively.
  • Melinkoly
    Definitely worth your time!
    A great encourager! Very refreshing!
  • Jake Macklin
Very insightful and gives you something to think and “chew” on
In such a busy world, we are constantly trying to "Get Things Done”. The GTD podcast is very practical and from what I have heard, I have enjoyed; it seems that persons, no matter their job title or day to day schedule, can benefit from giving this podcast a chance and a listen.
  • Julietjane01
    A bit infomercial like
I took David Allen's course a long time ago in the days of the Palm Pilot when I worked for a financial firm. It was life changing. The podcast on the other hand, of which I listened to two, was a lot of praise for GTD, but no information about GTD. Just promises of a discount code at the end. GTD is an empire, it is time to offer some content to the little people for free, that is NOT what this podcast is.
  • MrTimYork
Practical advice and leaves you wanting more
Practical, relevant and easy to understand. Anyone wanting to here from creatives and business leaders should make this podcast a priority.

    An excellent resource

    Feel More Accomplished Daily
Small changes in the right places have a huge impact on your day and your life. This is GTD. If you need to think through your workflow or develop better habits without getting bludgeoned by a constrictive system that you feel captive to, this podcast is for you. This podcast is focused on helping you through developing systems that work for you and improving your life, rather than glorifying systems for the sake of having a system.

Excited to Be a Part of the GTD Community!
I *love* GTD. I first ran across the book about 10 years ago, but didn’t think anything special of it. Then, three years back, I got the awesome opportunity of speaking to David one-on-one, and it all just clicked. The lightbulb went off. If this is new material for you, consider what it would feel like to have a million things that you *could* be doing, but the confidence and freedom of knowing that reading this is exactly what you *should* be doing, and that’s just a slice of what GTD will give you. This podcast is a great companion, because it helps to keep me “on the wagon” when I forget or fool myself.
