    Weird & Outdated World History
RE: Gazpacho podcast. Instead of using outdated terms, say geographical terms. Instead of saying New World say the Americas! Wow! Here’s another: say Asia, Western Europe, etc instead of Old World. When you explained New & Old Worldas a a way to continue to use the terms, I thought this guy should not be doing this. And, maybe this is new for you, but the Americas had rich culinary traditions using tomatoes, potatoes, etc. before contact. It was not just Italy that thought of yummy uses of the tomato; the Aztecs did it too. So let us please get a little modern in our thinking!

    Excellent
I’m not even into cooking so much but this is very enjoyable. The audio quality is superb and the host has a great, soothing voice and he’s very articulate, and obviously highly knowledgeable. Love the mushroom podcast the best!

    Great podcast, great host
One of my favorite podcasts to listen to and learn from! Roger’s passion, talent, and insights seamlessly translate through each episode in meaningful discussions and relieved to all levels. As a not particularly highly skilled cook, Roger makes each episode accessible and entertaining and provide nuggets of creativity to expand from in our own cooking routines. Thank you!

    Very Special Podcast
I am responding to the person who complained about Roger interviewing cookbook authors. That is typical of many cooking podcasts l subscribe to, and Roger still continues to include a nice mix of cooking information and recipes. lnstead of criticism, we should thank Roger for all he contributes. He has a busy life, a job and family, and we are fortunate he is also passionate about this podcast. l enjoy each and every well conceived episode.

    A Great Home Cooking Podcast
A very enjoyable, friendly, no frills and educational podcast for anyone wanting to get into or better at cooking at home.
  • HHICAC
    The best home cooking podcast
I’m not sure why I like this podcast so much. I think it’s because Roger isn’t trying to do anything other than talk about cooking and share recipes. I avoid podcasts that have a lot on f banter and silly conversations. Roger is a genuine, no frills, interesting home cook. He’s generous with his time and always answers when I send questions through email. Thanks Roger!

    Best cooking podcast
All-around best cooking podcast I’ve ever came across. From the recipes to stories and guests on the show, it has a little bit of everything and each show is worth the time to listen.

    I love this podcast.
I found this delightful podcast by mistake and am so happy I did. I'm 76 years old and cook every night but I'm learning new techniques every time I listen. Roger is calm and level headed and sincerely loves what he does. He shares a little about his wife and son and his life which I find charming. Thank you Roger

    One of my Favorites!
I listen to a few cooking podcasts, including Bon Appetit, and this is definitely one of my favorites! As a self taught, but seasoned, home cook...I still get a lot of great ideas and learn new ideas and techniques from this podcast. Roger keeps it engaging and fun. An every man's cooking show that so many of us can relate to! Always looking forward to a new episode.

    Nice work!
I really enjoy the Podcast, Roger does a great job of teaching the art of cooking, very knowledgeable on his subject matter!

    Wonderful podcast
Thoroughly enjoying Roger's podcasts. I am generally not able to do do video podcasts so the audio format is perfect for me. Roger takes the time to make a long enough podcast to cover lots of interesting and full of useful information. And I am grateful for his quite calm presentation, as I find podcasts that are "hyper" in their format leave me rattled feeling and I end up usually abandoning them.
  • Jaybirdvt
    Informative
I stumbled upon this podcast and can't stop listening! It provides a wide range of useful information that I didn't know I needed until I heard it. The host is knowlegdeable and I am enjoying the subjects covered.

    Spot on
I’m always surprised by how much Roger knows. Even though the episodes are long at around 30 minutes, every second is filled with practical advice. He offers insight that I just don’t hear anywhere else. His supportive manner encourages people of all levels to just enjoy cooking and eating!

    Superb so far!
I’m new to cooking and this is the podcast I’ve been looking for. Roger is very informed and pleasant to listen to and his choice of topics is right in line with my needs and getting me up to speed I am currently on episode 16 Working My Way through the backlog but my expectations are high based on what I’ve heard so far.

    Excellent informational podcast about cooking!
I just love this podcast! I have already learned so much about fundamentals of cooking and more detailed information about cooking, whether it be specific dishes, types of dishes, needs, etc. you name it! The host Roger just seems like a good guy and I love to listen to him talk about food!

Helpful hints for cooks or non-cooks
I found this podcast in late 2017. I am not very interested in cooking but need ideas because I have to cook for elderly parents. I enjoy listening to this podcast on my drive to work and get some inspiration from it.

Feels so personal, like talking with a close friend
I am so happy that I found this podcast. I tend to be obsessed with reading and researching about food and cooking and techniques and methods etc. What makes this podcast so different is you feel like you’re being talked to directly, like sitting across the table having a cup of coffee with your best friend. Thank you for what is obviously A passion of yours that you’re sharing with everyone.

    Life changing!
I’ve always had an attraction to cooking and this podcast has taken it to the next level! I gain SO MUCH inspiration from these episodes and acquire tips and tricks from a very experienced source without having to search far and wide. After listening I’ve made the best soup hands down I’ve ever produced and a cheese sauce that will knock your socks off, among other great additions to my meals I never would have thought of. Thank you so much for all your hard work and effort into making this WONDERFUL podcast.

    Wonderful
Pleasant, not filled with needless "fluff" but a personable podcast that helps give anyone good cooking tips.
  • Epic Film Guys
    Wonderful show!
I absolutely love to cook, but the idea of a podcast about cooking- something that relies so much on the visual- seemed odd to me. I am so glad I checked this show out. Roger's recipes are amazing (so far, I've made the roasted tomato soup & the shepherd's pie). He's got the perfect voice for this type of content, it is so warm and inviting, like he's pulling out a chair for you at the table. Love the quick fixes as well. So many more great recipes left to try! Keep up the great work Roger.
  • Staufferfree
    Inspiring for a newbie
He's easy to listen to, and gives great tips whether you're an expert or new to the kitchen. He loves cooking and trying new types of food too!
  • Lmwalters
    Great podcast, keeps my attention!
I just recently came across this podcast and have already been downloading past episodes. It's very informative, has good technical qualities, and is an easy listen. No annoying voices or interruptions. Very professionally done. I look forward to this each week while I sit at my work desk. Also I recently won a cookbook from an Amazon contest through the podcast. That really makes it fun to listen each week. Love opportunities to help me cook better food for my family! Thanks for all you do.

    Can't say enough good things...
If you're looking to improve your cooking skills look no further! Roger is a great host, easy to follow, and has some excellent pointers. From essential cooking utencils to cooking the perfect burger, this is a must listen!

    Learning is fun!
I thought I knew quite a bit about cooking until I started listening to this podcast. I learn something new with every episode and have a great time doing it!
  • SMHeasley
    Terrific resource for home cooks!
Roger does a great job breaking down the sometimes complicated art of cooking, giving home cooks great ideas and tools to bust out in their home kitchens.

    Cooking up great podcasts!
Check out Roger's podcast. Super informative, so many great tips for cooking. My girlfriend and I look forward to listen together every week.
  • warmachinehorse
    Entertaining and inspiring.
Echoing some of the other reviews, I am also not a cook. It’s obvious that Roger is and this has been a passion of his for some time, however he imparts his experience and wisdom in the kitchen with grace and humor. As a subscriber he has me ALMOST believing that I could get there one day, but until then my experience will be interesting and fun, just like his podcast.
  • gijairo
    Love This Show
While the host, Roger, clearly has a great deal of knowledge in the kitchen and a great love for many forms of cuisine, this show is not your typical high brow cooking podcast. Roger covers the basics and also gives great tips to get listeners motivated to start cooking. I wrote him an email to give me a few tips in the kitchen and he responded by discussing it on his show. Love this show and I highly recommend it for anyone who might even think about stepping into a kitchen.
  • Timbersfan10
    Something for everyone
I’m not much of a cook so I listened to this with my partner. I was surprised how well the narrative of food is spun into something more personal and unique. It really gives something for everyone. Side Note: It makes me hungry. I’m not sure if that is good or bad.
  • Dave - Pop Culture Case Study
Great for beginners and experienced cooks
So, I’m not a cook. I mean, I can scramble an egg, make a few good dishes if the recipe is simple. I am lucky enough to be married to someone who loves to cook and is good at it (as my waist line can attest). But I do like to try my hand every now and then. So, if you are in that boat, you should absolutely be listening to this podcast. Roger eases you into this world gently and basically teaches you what you need to know. Frankly, I wish I had this information in my teens. I would probably be more self-sufficient. I just listened to his latest Kitchen Essentials episode and he has some great lessons to teach. The biggest one for me was to read the recipe completely before you begin. Oh, the mistakes that could have been avoided had I practiced this! There is also some great encouragement, it’s ok to fail, you don’t have to understand everything. I love this because the world of cooking can be intimidating. Great job Roger!
  • Phepper

Great pod to learn about or improve your cooking
I just love this pod. It’s great for anyone that loves to cook, or wants to love to cook. The host does a great job and is a real pleasure to listen to.
