This is the only one I actually wait for and listen to as soon as it comes out. I will admit I miss the longer format (it was great for when I was making dinner!) but I’d rather have shorter episodes than none at all. The information is always up to date, presented in a way that both informs and entertains, and seems well-researched and thought-out. In addition to being an author myself I work in the self-publishing industry and recommend this show regularly to our author clients.

This podcast covers all the latest news in the Indie publishing world. I find it very helpful and I like to hear the analysis of Claire and Brian. It really helps shine light on certain things and I always learn something new.

This is one of the very few shows I continue to listen to over the years. As an indie author, I have so much information to digest (and act upon) on an ongoing basis. I dare say that this show is all you need, just an hour a week, to stay on top of the latest in the indie author and publishing space. Please keep it going, Brian and Claire!

I have been listening to this show for a few weeks now and am probably fifteen or so episodes in, and I am learning so much! I’ve been writing for pleasure my entire life but recently decided to take the plunge and write to publish, and this show makes me feel like I have a connection to the publishing world and an idea of where to start! Thanks for your quirky, in depth, and honest perspectives!

I don’t know when Jim Kukral left, but he’s the reason I stopped listening. Now that he’s gone Bryan’s positivity is matched with so much better with Claire’s upbeat personality. They do a great job of keeping up with the news and giving great tips without all that relentless naysaying that Jim used to provide. Always loved Bryan! Totally love Claire! These Great hosts that make getting all the news fun while be informative without wasting time with excessive chit chat.

I just started listening in January 2021, although I’ve been an indie author since 2014. I wish I would’ve discovered this show sooner. The hosts are honest, funny, entertaining, informational, and perhaps most importantly of all, they serve as a weekly reminder that I’m not alone in what can often feel like a very lonely industry (especially in this past year). There are a lot of podcasts out there for indie authors but this is where I'll be spending my time. I get relevent news quickly, I love the format - lists! Yay! - and I feel connected to what's important in the publishing world. Bryan and Claire are fun to listen to, with just the right amount of humor and get-to-it. I pick up publishing podcasts the same way some people pop tic-tacs, and while I’ve stopped listening to many shows over the years I still come back to this one. Why dig through publishing news my self when two charismatic cohosts and their team can do that for me AND present it with humor and insightful context.

This is one of my favorite podcasts for indie authors! I love the structure of the show: the hosts give a bunch of tips collected from various sources, and then give all the big news in the publishing and indie publishing world. I feel like I'm caught up on everything without having to spend hours sifting through news outlets, blogs, videos, social media posts, etc. Plus, Bryan and Claire provide their own insights, opinions, and experiences, which are always fantastic -- and they do it with a healthy dose of humor! I look forward to this podcast every week.

The new host has a voice like a banshee clawing its way through a slate roof. On the upside, she refuses to allow her ignorance to interfere with her illogical self confidence and enthusiasm. On the downside, the presence of the oddly-named femme has diminished Bryan’s brainpower, too. Taking this one off my subscription list.

This is my favorite podcast about the self-publishing world. The production values are great, the chemistry between the two hosts is good, but best of all, they talk about current events in the industry, weekly tips, questions of the week for you to think about / answer online, etc. There is a lot of value here, and they release consistenly every week. Highly recommended!

This show is both essential and extremely helpful for indie authors in today's market. It can be difficult to keep up with all the indie-publishing related news that floods the internet every day, but by keeping up with this podcast, you're basically letting Bryan and Jim handle that for you. They do a terrific job curating both news items and useful tips in an engaging and entertaining fashion. I've gotten a wide variety of useful pointers from the show which have made a big difference in my sales over the past couple of years. If you want to achieve professional success as an indie author, you should definitely add this one to your listening queue.

I discovered this show a year ago and it’s one of my top favorite podcasts. I listen every week! I love the dynamic between Bryan and Jim. They’re awesome. And it’s great to be able to get current news, tips, and insight in one place. If you’re in the book biz, this is a must-listen!

Every week I find myself yelling at my car radio at something else stupid Jim has said. This week made me actually pull over to write this review. How about going into a Barnes and Noble once and a while before dissing it so vehemently? You want it to succeed but you don’t shop there? How does that work? Also, most of the people that work in B&N (and I am NOT one of them) are NOT 17 years old. They are older, 30-55 year olds who do actually know about books. Go into the children’s section and ask for some recommendations. You will get actual good information. I am a big Amazon customer and publisher, but I also make a point of purchasing from B&N to do a little bit to help keep these resources available. Another week Jim basically said that he doesn’t go into independent bookstores so nobody does and he doesn’t see them lasting much longer. Week after week he says things of this nature, that because he doesn’t think it’s worthwhile then it’s not. How about broadening your view? I gave it two stars rather than one only because Brian Cohen is intelligent, open minded, and offers good summaries of interesting posts from the author community. I wish Brian would go solo or get a different co-host.

Selling your own books is hard! JIm and Bryan cover the waterfront on how self-published authors can sell more of their books. Lots of coverage of current events in the publishing industry (mostly from the self-publishing side). Enjoyable and I always learn something!

I love how each episode gives great tips and fun to listen to. I feel I learn so much especially for free and in the time of a commute.

Found the show as a beginning author, and now I still listen to keep up with new topics and learn new tactics and marketing strategies for my author and coaching business. Plus I realized that Bryan rewrote my blurb for my book free of charge ( it was really bad, I surmise) after I became a patreon, so I’m indebted for life. ;)
