Your show. Liking it. Please have on Paul and Sasha from "Community News with Paul and Sasha" or whatever their real names are. They are the funniest show within a show in podcasting. All original. Would love to hear about their process with you. Keep up the good work.

    Insightful and Essential
Easily the best podcast about the creative process. This show and its archive are gifts to current/future comedians but even if you’re not a comedian (and not that into comedy) ((who is this hypothetical person?)) hearing smart, funny people talk about how they think is a joy. Stu Goldsmith - smart and funny in his own right - always encourages his guests to discuss aspects of their work they haven’t shared elsewhere. Truly special.

    Well-researched, interesting, and funny
So many podcasts are just someone talking off of the top of their head. Stu actually does the research before talking to comedians—watches their stuff, reads other interviews—so you get a more thorough and interesting conversation than the ones you are used to hearing. He’s funny and self-deprecating, he’s well-practiced, he’s well-traveled, and he cares about the CRAFT of comedy as well as just the jokes. With ten years of archives, there’s a good chance he’s talked to someone you’d like to learn more about.

    A Perfect Accompaniment
I am relatively new to this podcast but have been hovering up the episodes. I love listening to the episodes that correspond to a comedian’s special, e.g. James Acaster and Cold Lasagne Hate Myself. A particular highlight is the Brett Goldstein episode. Can’t wait to keep discovering new insights and comedians!

The best podcast for comedy fans and comedians
Stuart Goldsmith does a phenomenal job on this podcast as he interviews comics from the U.K. and abroad. He has a natural ability to get into the details of how comedians think about their work and what makes them tick. As a case study for up-and-coming comedians and a way to discover your new favorite acts, this podcast doesn’t disappoint.

    Love this podcast
Every time I listen I feel like I’m learning something new, or having the validity of my performance style reinforced. 💗💗💗

Excellent show. Very insightful and fun.

    Fantastic!
Whether you know the comedian in the episode or not, learning about their path to now, their process, influences... everything... it’s all really good stuff. Stu is a very good interviewer as well as a great comedian in his own right. He does his research and doesn’t shy away from difficult subjects, much to the benefit of the interviews themselves. If you’re new to this, maybe start with a comedian you know, then pick one at random and listen to their story. Can’t recommend highly enough!

    Just brilliant
It’s wonderful to hear old and new favourites in the raw. And Stuart’s generously free standup download is just spot on.

    So much goodness
Pretty sure I am not in the demographic for this show as a middle-aged US mom...but maybe that's the testmonial take-away. It feels inclusive. All sorts of comedy, all sorts creativity, all sorts of hopes and fears. Stuart makes it warm and human and relatable.

    Phenomenal
Such an inspiration to hear some of my favorite comedians discuss both raw technique and emotional obstacles. Never artificial or forced. A genuine joy to listen. Thanks Stu.

    Absorbing
This podcast is becoming my absolute favorite thing to listen to. Not only has it been a joy to hear genuinely interesting conversations with my favorite comedians, this podcast has introduced me to comedians I don't know I would have heard of otherwise. Also, the advice and insights have been invaluable to me. I'm not a stand up, or have any interest in being a stand up, but I do like to write. Those parts of the interviews are the most fascinating to me, when guests talk about their writing process and styles. Seriously a great podcast!

    I appreciate Comedian’s Comedian
About 2 years ago, I decided to try stand-up comedy. I have enjoyed the journey so far but of course there are times I wonder if it even makes sense, if I am doing it “right” and many other thoughts. This podcast lets me hear veterans and successful comedians voice some of the same thoughts and feelings I have. Thanks Stuart for doing what you do!!

    Always fresh and inspiring
Stuart Goldsmith is knowledgeable, intelligent and articulate and manages to get some great stuff out of his interview subjects. His enthusiasm is infectious and it's well worth taking a punt on episodes with people you've never heard of.

    Big fan in America
My favorite podcast hosted by a Comedian. Stuart is insightful, bold, charismatic, and knows what his audience wants before they know it. Thanks for never wasting our time with fluff material . Your podcast is one of the few podcasts that is entertaining and meaningful every second of the podcast. If you haven't already, please interview Marc Maron! I hear a lot of your guests mention him and would love to hear what happens when your inquisitive brilliance meets his.

Fantastic interviews! Just gets better and better.

    Not Just for Comedy Geeks
Whether you are a comedy geek looking for insight into the creative comedy process, have an interest in the philosophy of writing/performing or just want to play the "street performer" drinking game, this is the podcast for you. Guaranteed to come away with a gem or two in every episode. As an ex-pat, I don't get to follow the UK comedy scene as much these days, so this podcast also allows me to keep my finger on the pulse of the vibrant British circuit.

    Insightful Comedy Interviews
Wonderful podcast with interviews of the comedians from around the world. Goldsmith sits down with a spectrum of the top comedians in the business to lessor known comedians. Goldsmith's interviews facilitate an environment where the comedians lower their persona and give a peak behind the curtain into their process and the industry.

I look forward to this so much
Even though I'm not a comedian (no where near), I sooo look forward to listening to this podcast. Not only do I get to discover new comedians, but the interviews are so interesting and enjoyable. I would suggest taking a listen (even if you don't recognize the person being interviewed!) Its very entertaining, and I always take something away from each episode. Thanks so much for making this show!

    Constantly entertaining, insightful and fun
I heard Stu first on Never Not Funny. Since then Comedian's Comedian has quickly become a weekly listen and the back episodes are amazing. I have learned a ton about British comedy and also love all of the insight about emotions, mental health, and being a person living in the world.
  • THElisafer
Very entertaining and a fabulous listen.
I just happened across this podcast and what a great fortune that was. I really enjoy the podcast with the "inside comedy" feel and the earnest, sincere look at the guest comedians. Excellent execution and a joy to listen to each episode. Love it!

    Great listening for creative types
Many thanks to Stu for wrestling with these obviously funny creative types to get them past their game - making with the lols - and into the tougher territory of knowing how they get the lols, and why. Every artist goes through a stage of doing something well, and not knowing the reason why, so hearing Stuart take them to task about their process makes me both proud of him (it's sometimes a fight) and makes the show so valuable to me. Seeing these comedians struggle with making as well as delivering their art gives those of us for whom the creative timeline (from idea to audience interaction) is a little longer a shot of courage to continue, knowing that persistence is key, and that the headaches and heartaches might just be worth it. I've learned a lot about some very fine artists, and about Stu, and even more about myself via this podcast, and that makes it one of the best studio companions I've had.

    Delightfully Nerdy
I'm obsessed with ComComPod. You don't necessarily need to know the comedians to enjoy their commentary whatsoever. Although, I've listenened to podcasts interviewing about 5 different comedians I've seen live which is a unique and fun thing. Offers different perspectives. It's uniquely uplifting for anyone who works in the entertainment business. We all sortof feel alone in trying to foster a sense of togetherness. There are a lot of feelings expressed on this podcast in a raw, real, way that you don't quite get on other platforms or shows. Our favorite entertainers open up and give you the nitty gritty dish on their innermost thoughts. I love it. Can you tell I'm a standup comedy nerd? This podcast has certainly helped foster that.

    Host is overreaching
I really only enjoyed the Jimmy Carr interview because I'm a big fan of Jimmy's. Goldsmith talks too much and sounds too desperate to boost his own career. A good concept for a show but could be funnier and more interesting.

    A different slice of life
Comedians are a strange breed, and have interesting stories. The British host alternates between insightful probing questions and grounded observations in marathon comedy discussions with interesting guests. Great for listening while jogging.

    Comedy Gold"smith"
For Americans this is the Inside Baseball of Comedy. I have not seen Mr. Goldsmith;s set so i cannot say whether he's a good comedian but as an interviewer he is tops. In listening for these interviews for the last six months all I can say is "Dying is easy. Comedy is hard" This is the Actor's Studio of Comedy without the snobbery. The interviews are longer than your average treadmill session but perfect for a long commute.

Interesting, Insightful, informative (and very funny)!
I found these podcasts after listening to Stuart being interviewed by Richard Herring on RHLSTP. All I can say is that I wish I'd found them sooner. I'm digging through the entire back catalogue now and I'd recommend to all listeners that they do the same. Stuart does a wonderful job of interviewing - asking questions that probe enough to really get his subjects to open up, not just about their individual creative process, but oftentimes about their own strengths, weaknesses, fears and goals. The results really are quite enlightening. I think he successfully uncovers just what makes these entertainers tick. Incredibly useful for would-be or existing comedians and extremely entertaining even if you're not a stand-up in training. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Keep up the amazing work Stu!

I've regularly listened to this for ages and always enjoy it. Been some massive names on there too that you see a completely different side of than on usual interviews. Highly recommended.

    My favorite podcast
Out of over 60 podcast, this is one of only two that I have set to download automatically on my phone. It's one of the only podcast that I genuinely look forward to each week.

    Great Idea; Well executed
This a great podcast for anyone interested in the human race. This podcast is what I'd rather know about artists than the polished bullet points on mainstream talk shows. Warning: if you want something to listen to to fall asleep, this podcast is far too interesting to let that happen.
  • CurlyFry07
    Accessible & Interesting
As someone who is decidedly unfunny and will never be a stand-up comedian, I thought this podcast might be too full of shop talk and comedy jargon for me to enjoy, but I needn't have worried; the interviews are both excellent and accessible, on top of being interesting and (as you would expect) funny. Stuart Goldsmith is an unselfish, talented interviewer, and that makes this show work-- he keeps the focus on the interviewee, makes both the guest and the listeners feel comfortable and welcome, and asks insightful and thought-provoking questions (without ever being intrusive). If you've ever wondered how comedy is created or what goes on in performer's heads, then you will love this podcast. I definitely do.

    Inspirational podcast about comedy
This is a perfect podcast for people who like, love or are obsessed with comedy. Stewart Goldsmith is a fantastic and personable interviewer. His guest are always fascinating. He is also a really funny stand up comedian! It is a podcast that examines the process of creating comedy. It is always a delightful part of my week!

    Funny, sincere, interesting
I enjoy listening to conversational radio, particularly interviews. I was looking for some comedy and stumbled on this podcast to find myself quickly addicted. I particularly appreciate the unapologetic naivete and genuine excitement of the host Stuart Goldsmith who comes across as the kind of guy you'd find yourself talking to in a bar or party and feeling enriched as a consequence. The acts interviewed provided entertainment and insight. if you're a comedy fan and interested in the craft of comedy or just a fan of interesting conversations / interviews I highly recommend this podcast. BTW stumbled across this via Stitcher happy to see it's on iTunes for offline podcast listening :)
