CraftyRobinA touch of home and quilting paradiseFrances had a charming accent and soothing voice. I could listen to her all day! She shares her life, family, and her knowledge and love of quilts in a friendly realistic way, not a perfect quilter but someone who makes mistakes and then makes it work. Love her podcast!
-
Marsha.sewhappyI can relateLove that we share the hobby of quilting but Frances has made me look at quilting as more than the hobby that saves my sanity. Now I think more about the historical aspect of quilting. I can relate to a lot of her takes on life in general. So often I will think “amen, sister” when she shares something with her listeners. Witty & interesting!

14)!9So glad I found you.So glad I found your podcast, with your help. So I am listening to many episodes as I finish my latest quilt. And I have your FB quilt fiction page that I am following. But must say I love the podcast best of all. I get to hear your voice and feel like I am spending the afternoon with an dear friend. I went to your website so I could see your quilts as I listened to you discussing them. Love it all. But I have to look for copies of Margaret hoes Modern and Birds in the Air. Keep up the great work. You are top rated of all the podcast I listen to.

rbishop83Skill building - Quiltcon reviewFrances- I love the idea of skill building. I try to always take those classes and plan to offer these regularly at my new shop. I think it is almost more important than just the let’s make this quilt class. I think every class should have a skill built into it. Just my opinion.

Blue_CrabMy new favI can’t believe I have not found this podcast until now. Listening to Frances is like being with your best girlfriend and sharing her day and your favorite quilty news. Frizzielizzie57Off Kilter - NOTYou can hear Frances’ smile as she shares from her heart. She’s the BFF everyone wants to have. I’ve been listening from nearly the start, and am so thankful she has kept it going for so long. Yes, I’ve left many comments in my head, too, and am glad to be finally sending a real one.

Christa QuiltsOne of my favorite podcasts!I love listening to Frances’ life stories and quilty stories. She’s one of my best friends in my sewing room while I quilt yet she never interrupts. I love that don’t ever have to stop sewing or even talk back while we are “hanging out” at my machine. Keep the great content coming!!

verygerryThe Ocracoke EditionI enjoy her podcasts very much. I especially enjoyed this one. I love hearing about quilts, I loved hearing about the books she was reading. She’s someone I’d love to have for a friend. I am also enjoying her read the book about 1930’s town in Ohio. I look forward to each set of new chapters. I love Feedsack fabrics so I assume the fictional quilts in the story might have contained some of those. I bought one of her children’s books for my grandson. He lives in NC. It’s always fun to find an author who lives somewhat close. Authors are my heroes.

Chosen SummerA Pleasant VisitThis is one of my favorite podcasts. When I’m listening, I feel like Frances and I are having a neighborly chat while she shares what’s happening in her family, Quilting, and writing life. She feels like a friend.

MennoniteMomScrap ExchangeI have tried many quilting podcasts and have deleted them all . . . Except this one. I love how Frances shares her internal conflict and thought process as she explores her quilting progress. I hope to run into her some day at the Scrap Exchange and dig through some fabrics together.

AsfhnlaskdjfnlkjdfnlkjdfnlkjsnLove the birds and bugs and conversational tone.I love these podcasts. I'm a new quilter so there's a lot of topics that are hard to keep up with just because of my ignorance in quilting but it's so nice to hear her talk it's like I'm sitting there in her porch with her. And I don't know about everybody else but I LOVE to hear the birds and bugs. So please for me don't stop recording outside.

L.K. B.H.Enjoyable podcastI really enjoy this podcast. I find Frances's voice soothing and her stories relatable. Listening to her podcast while I sew makes me feel like I'm at a familiar sewing bee, free from the worries of the outside world. I really enjoy listening to the birds singing when she records outside. She talks a bit about her family but not so much that it detracts from the podcast. As the Mom of an only-child 12 year old boy, I've found her comments about her boys reassuring.

TerjeGoldFantastic Quilty PodcastFrances' podcast is one of my absolute favorites. My day becomes brighter the minute I see she has released a new episode. Frances has a delightful mix of talk about her family, her quilting projects, decisions made as she works through the quilting process, some fantastic interviews and a really lovely mix of everything wonderful about quilting. Her soft, slightly Southern accent is an additional bonus as it makes me feel so welcome and at home. This podcast is one not to be missed if you enjoy quilts or quilting.
-
ledamewoodEasy ListeningFrances is so enjoyable to listen to, whether about her family, books, daily activities, knitting or quilting. Her relaxed style, pleasant voice make you want to tune in. You'll always learn something, even if you are more experienced in quilting. Highly recommend tuning in and listening to all back podcasts too.

KaylaC6500One Happy CamperI have been listening to you for some time and was all caught up on your podcast. Then something happened and I was no longer subscribed to you. I felt as though I lost a dear friend! I love listening to you as I work on my quilt, it is very calming to listen to you. I can't tell you how excited I am that I found you once again!! I could write so much more but I must go and get caught up again with your podcast. Thank you for your time and sharing!! One happy camper.

WrightLabLadyOff Kilter is my favorite quilting podcastI have been a listener since the first episode and I really enjoy Francis's style. I feel like she is a friend sitting down to talk to me about her week. Her style is laid back and easy going, I don't get the feeling she is trying to impress me with the volume of quilts she cranks out or her expertise. She is just doing what she enjoys, having a good time with it, and welcoming us into her world along the way. Thank you, Francis!
-
Skippi19CalmingI love listening to Frances. Her voice is so sweet and calming. The podcasts are rich in quilting, knitting, books and life updates. I have been sewing since I was 10 years old, but quilting for about 4 years. I love her artsy influence to quilting. Thanks!!

amypink11A poetic quilter. :)France's is great. Down to earth and informative. She gives her viewpoint on many topics and entertains with each episode. This "Thursday girl" is worth a listen to anyone who wants a conversation with an intelligent friend who's not afraid to call it like she sees it! Thanks for all the great episodes!

NellyKellyHandmadeDelightful from start to finish!I listen to a lot of podcasts, and many of them involve knitting, quiling, or other crafts. I just put a whole slew on my phone and hit shuffle... and I've come to realize that when Frances' voice starts coming through those earbuds I feel like I've hit the jackpot! I just love everything about this podcast. (I adore Frances' voice, for one thing.) I love that she shares about her life and her feelings about her family, her career, and her craft. As I've read in other reviews, it really feels like she's been a friend forever. She is incredibly thoughtful and insightful. And I love hearing about her quilty adventures, of course! I am so inspired when I listen, I can't wait to be able to get home to my stash, my rotary cutter, and my sewing machine! This podcast is just an absolute joy! As I said, I listen to many, but this is the first one I've felt the need to come and review. (I've even started cheating a bit, sometimes I let myself choose The Off Kilter Quilt first, instead of waiting for it to come up in the shuffle!)

CCapshaw0811My First PodcastLove your podcast. Very relaxing. I enjoy listening to you while piecing or just doing the day to day things at the shop where I work. The magazine reviews are very interesting and informative. The only thing that would make it better is having a glass of red. Carol Capshaw

-
joni marieVery pleasant, my new favoriteThis is a purely conversational podcast by an amateur quilter. The audio quality is good. Frances is articulate and has a very appealing, relaxed and natural podcasting style. The program never comes across as forced or scripted and the delivery is brisk. The character and personality of a woman who is warm, goodnatured, genuine, and happy shines through; she cheers and comforts me. Although discussing her quilting adventures is the reason for the podcast, she is a writer and a mother and so, inevitably, we hear a little bit about her work and family life in most episodes. It is not too much. I also appreciate the lack of music. Many other reviewers here have used the word "pleasure", and it is truly apropos.
