ruuningdocLatest podcast with Dr SeagerDr Seager stated that for MD’s, knowledge ceases once we finish medical school. There was no pushback from Matt. I’ve heard ridiculous comments from guests, but that one tops the list. I’ve been a physician for 34 years and like every physician I have ever known, we obviously know that medical school is simply a springboard towards the goal for knowledge. Physicians read scientific, peer-reviewed journals, we have journal club to discuss recent articles, we attend scientific meetings, we are required to maintain certification through continuing medical education credits and we are required to pass board examinations. Many of us are involved in cutting edge scientific research. This guest sounds like he has an ax to bear against physicians. I’m guessing this philosophy will change one day when a physician helps him with his health or saves his life. Herbert Stern MD, FAAP, FACC

blaisemarBrilliant, experienced scientist communicating the science of agingMatt is an extremely well-read and experienced scientist in the field of aging. His work, particularly stemming from his postdoc, has led to deep understandings on how we age and how we may be able to mitigate aging and the diseases of aging. Among a field plagued with bad actors, Matt is a shining star. He provides perspective for those on the outside looking in and inspiration & guidance for those on the inside looking out. I’d recommend anyone that wants to learn more about aging and the state of aging research to listen to what Matt has to say.
