“God’s Country” with brothers Dan and Reid Isbell is a rollicking weekly podcast that sits at the intersection of country music and the great outdoors. Perfect balance

Perfect blend of music, hunting, and parenting. I hope the show listens to the audiobook “The Comfort Crisis” by Michael Easter. It will really tie together hunting, kids wanting to be outside, and doing things that are uncomfortable are actually really good for you. Great first time hunters story as well. Cheers. 🤙🏼🤙🏼

Everything I want in a podcast, except..

I don’t which one it is, but the constant interruptions is too much. It’s to the point where it’s so annoying I have to turn it off. The topics are my 2 favorite things, country music and hunting, but the one guy needs to relax.

If Steve puts an end to this podcast I might just drop Meateater, Phelps, Firstlite, all of it. The boys here are doing some AEWESOME stuff… I live in a more remote area of northern Utah and going through the pass to “civilization” is when I put on Dan and Reid and just ride to town laughing along. One of the best pods out there already. Keep it goin’ fellas!

A New Weekly Listen

The reason we love country music is because it reminds us of how we grew up, those we loved, and the lessons we learned. These guys do a fantastic job bringing out the stories from legendary and successful song writers that form the foundation of many of the great songs that we listen to today. If you grow up hunting, have fond memories of those who kindled your passion for whitetail and want to know how the sausages is made as it pertains to the creation of great country music, you’ll enjoy this show.

So bad! Making MeatEater look like a kiddo. If they were made to be in front of a microphone they would be singing the songs they wrote. Ton of respect for them and songwriting but this isn’t age well.

I heard the commercial for this show on the Wired to Hunt podcast. Being a drummer and an avid hunter myself, the premise for this show caught my attention immediately. After listening to the first episode, I was hooked! The hosts are hilarious and I enjoy the laidback nature of the show. I’ll be looking forward to the new episodes!
