kschmid89-07Re-starting to read at 35I absolutely love love this podcast. I just started to get back into reading after many, many years of not. I love all the books Jenna suggests to her book club so thought I’ll check out her podcast. Almost all these interviews keep my attention the entire time I don’t get bored and some of them I’ve never heard of which makes me go look up their books. Slam dunk of a podcast!! Check it out.

ReaderGal1234Great podcastI really enjoy this podcast! One minor complaint is that Jenna repeatedly says “yea” throughout every episode. It’s so distracting and hard to ignore. Otherwise, I think she’s a great interviewer with interesting guests.

Larry5026JoyI have always enjoyed your uplifting personality. Your Grandmother was such a wonderful person. I am a democrat but I vote for the person that I believe is best for our country. I honestly believe we would be better served without party and more about the qualities of the candidates. Be it television or podcast your words always bring a smile to my face. Keep on being you.

1969leftyMust listenHey guys! Listen up, I’m 100% disabled, and books are my lifeline.. seriously. I know it sounds weak, because I was once earning a living, now I sit and watch every one else living.. and I find such a great escape in books. It’s another life, one that isn’t mine, that has some fantastic adventures!! I’m usually into murders, doesn’t sound good, so this is a fun way to hear about other books.

NotHappyx36Well doneI love that you did a follow up with Tara Westover. One always has questions about how a person is doing after they’ve revealed to the world disturbing events that happened to them. I’m happy to learn that she is striving and is working to be okay.

I haven’t always been a big reader but this helps me select books that I feel more confident about enjoying once I take the time to check them out from the millions of choices on the shelves at my public library.

grandma252Reading with Jenna!I just listened to your two first podcasts! They were fantastic. I never had heard of these authors and will definitely look them up and read their books. Like yourself, I was an elementary teacher who taught first, 3td and 4th grade. Before I retired I taught ESL students and all of these students were in my home state of Connecticut. I did quite a bit with promoting books and their authors with my classes. I had my students dress up as favorite characters in their stories; had my older students do author studies where they read several books by a particular author and then compared and contrasted these books; and had students write to authors telling them how much they enjoyed their books. My students loved getting letters back from many of the authors. We also invited authors to come to our school and several did. After I read “Island of the Skog” to my first graders, Steven Kellogg not only wrote a class letter but drew pictures of the characters from this story and mailed these to us. Boy, did my students like that. They wanted to read more books by this author. I love that you are doing this podcast and can’t wait to listen to Judy Blume and other authors of children ‘s books as well. Some of the authors I shared with my students were Maurice Sendack, Eric Carle, Leo Lionnie, Patricia Palacco, Jan Brett, Bill Peet, Judy Viorst, Tomie de Paola and Beverly Cleary. My third graders sure enjoyed Ralph’s adventures on his motorcycles. The questions you ask the authors are intriguing and thought provoking. Keep up this excellent work! Sue Lincoln PS I’m a big fan of yours!
