Rob TealGreat PodcastI’ve been listening to this podcast for a few months now and can’t seem to turn it off! Each time one comes on I feel like it was created for me. Eddy’s message of Read Slowly, Take Notes and Apply the Ideas, hits home to me. Also his Book Club is extremely valuable and informative. Highly recommend listening to his Podcasts and joining the Book Club.

elegantrumplesWish I had found your podcast before I trued to scale the mountain of The Name of the Rose!I recently found your podcast! I appreciate that it is short and full of good rich content. A year or so ago I embarked upon the mountain of The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco. It took me a year to lumber up that particular mountain and I questioned myself a number of times: “again, why are you reading this?!”…it became a challenge, I finished it, but without the euphoria one feels when one reaches the top of a mountain. I’m still confused by it. Have you read this mysterious tome? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this book. Thank you! Julie Duncan

SummitbrookRead Well!I stumbled across this podcast and must say that it has energized me in ways I didn’t imagine. I’m thankful to Eddy for reminding me of everything I loved about studying literature and philosophy as an undergraduate. Flowers for Algernon? I think I read that in jr. high school. Because of the podcast, I can’t wait to read it once more, through an adult’s eyes. Thanks to Eddy’s passion and recommendations, I have my notepad and pen in hand as I read Crime and Punishment. The notes and questions are coming fast and furious. Thanks for waking up my brain! I’d forgotten how much I enjoyed reading deeply (not just reading).

TurnedacornerGreat castI’ve been listening to these podcasts in a scattershot method. They are all worth it. I’m taking more time with the deeper books on my list and getting more out of them.

JediPastorAaronGoldenThis podcast is golden! For years, I have been one of those people who tries to read hundreds of books each year and it has been a stressor to me I haven’t realized. This podcast has given me the freedom to slow down and know it’s okay if I don’t read a ton as long as I’m reading well!

Portal stoneEh…I’m considering whether to continue listening to this podcast. Recommending Jordan Peterson as one of a top 5 list of recommended readings, especially for philosophy, is questionable at best. I’m interested in learning skills to enhance reading, but the hyperbole presented is a bit much.

Catherine_616Phenomenal Podcast!I absolutely LOVE this podcast! So many wonderful strategies and insights I didn’t know about reading before. Eddy is very good at breaking topics down and giving explanations. The information given will definitely take your reading to the next level.

TheGroomA Book Lovers Podcast! So glad I found this podcast! Very informative and delves deep into the world of reading without being lengthy and drawn out. Each episode is simple and to the point. JerswifeVery helpful and great tips!!This podcast has really helped me to see the benefits of slowing down in my reading. It has me rethinking how I read all my books. He’s personable, knowledgeable and very easy to understand what he means.

FantasiaminnieGlad I found it!I’ve been searching for a book podcast for some time. One that discusses books I’m interested in, recommends books that I might actually read, and throws in some good advice for how to make reading more enjoyable. Sadly, I haven’t been able to find one…UNTIL NOW! The host, Eddy, seems to read my mind in each episode I listen to with respect to the information given. I’ve loved every one so far and they have inspired me to get more out of what I read rather than just trying to read more. Keep it up, Eddy!

Dido1091What a treasureI am a book nerd like Eddy from a very young age. Alas, the past couple of years I went the path of least resistance and read books just for entertainment. Following this podcast for a few month I finally bought a book that makes me to read slowly, take notes and hopefully apply the ideas. Now where can I buy the RWP coffee mugs? 😁

TyfghjhvgvvggThe gift of readingReading, I mean really reading, is a true and wonderful gift. In depth reading, whether you are “good” at it or not, is what this podcast is about. Reading slow, with intention, with a love for learning, is celebrated here. If you love reading, if you hate reading, I truly believe that you will be hooked on the possibility that you can be a better, more thoughtful reader after listening to the first episode.

June221991Rating the Read Well podcastI like the read well podcast a lot. I like Eddy’s personality. He seems like a kind, well thought person. What I like about the podcast is Eddy shares my love of reading. He has different topics such as “why read poetry”, “reading Russian literature”. I’m mildly interested in reading these two genres but Eddy’s podcasts gave me some tips and inspiration to try them.

phuzzer1Read MoreJust what I was looking for! I wanted guidance in reading, appreciating, and understanding some of the deeper classics. Eddie Hood comes to the podcast well prepared and enthusiastic, making me want to read everything he mentions! Of course I will be reading them slowly!

Granjojo892Muscle testingThe information about minerals in the body was great information. However… Muscle testing is called Applied Kinesiology. You might as well be practicing voodoo. By placing something in someone’s hand and then testing the muscle to see if it can resist the pressure put on it is basically just putting a suggestion in someone’s mind that it is good or bad for them. The person has already predetermined if it’s good or bad as soon as the object is placed in their hand. If you think it’s bad, you won’t be able to resist but if you think it’s good for you, then you will be able to resist. Basically, muscle testing is mind control.

Crimson20Slow DownI recently discovered this podcast, and I’m working my way through the previous episodes. It is easy to listen to, and I enjoy that it tells us to slow down. Our world is all about fast pace and big numbers, but slowing down to enjoy something is like opening a gift.

JiminDCandSTXRuminateI just listened to my first episode today on Nietzsche and ruminating. It resonated so much with me, and I am now a follower of this brilliant podcast. I must confess I did not turn off the podcast to ruminate, as instructed - I had to continue and listen to the next episode. I look forward to applying these principles to my reading. Thank you!

gschryerLoving this …While this podcast and related community has a motto to read slow, take notes, and apply the ideas… I have to say I consumed the entire set of podcasts in my first week … have joined the community, with weekly book club gatherings of people of like mind - a passion for reading well and making sense out of what we read. While some of the podcast episodes are a little redundant, it’s nice that they are generally short and concise and easily digested. Time well spent.

Pensia 74An Excellent Podcast For Every Kind Of ReaderWith the plethora of options available on the podcast platform and the finite amount of time I have to be able to listen attentively to them, I am extremely selective on which podcasts I subscribe to. I came across this podcast about 10 episodes after its creation. I knew a few minutes into the first episode I listened to that it was a show I wanted in my library. I spent that first day listening to all the previous episodes. I was hooked! Eddy puts an enormous amount of energy and passion into discussing the importance of reading well, and the context of each episode is tailored to bring home that point. This is one of those podcast where I finish listening and I am instantly inspired to apply the suggestions to my daily life. This is definitely a must have for your library if you’re passionate about reading and learning. Keep up the great work, Eddy!

readinginthesouthHooked on this podcastThis is the reading podcast I’ve been looking for. Love the premise of reading well as opposed to being well read. I’ve already learned so much on here! I took your advice and put together a reading kit(complete with yellow highlighter) 😊Thanks Eddy!
-

KittyLikestoReadEnjoyableThis is my new favorite book podcast! I like the recommendations so far and the idea of the bookclub (I have already ordered the books that I did not already have), but I don’t have Facebook and don’t plan to join. I wonder if Patreon members can watch or listen to the bookclub episodes without participating or joining Facebook… hmmm. Please let us know :)
