betabluesThe BestI’ve listened to lots of podcasts related to Parkinson’s- some scientific, some aiming for relevance on a personal level, some focused on possible breakthrough research. This show does it all, while sharing the very real stories/attitudes of 6 intelligent people dealing with the disease. They are often funny, always sincere, and smart enough to ask a great lineup of doctors to share their knowledge about everything from diet to mental health to healthcare systems and what’s missing in the care industry. Given the devastating effect this disease can have, I just want to thank these people for bothering to do it!! It’s a bit lifeline, a bit camaraderie, always a pleasure - and I believe I’ve learned as much or more from this show than I have from neurologists and other healthcare workers.

gordomcdMovers and ShakersLoved the positive attitude of the speakers. I am 10 years into my life with PD and got a great lift hearing the panel talking about their aliments. Keep going. Gordomcd

Lynn KnuteInteresting, honest—and funny!Great first episode! The conversation is free-flowing and sprinkled with wit and grace. I learned a lot about Parkinson’s and I am curious to learn more. But, for me, this is not just about Parkinson’s. It’s about friends exploring and challenging their fears and frustrations from all perspectives.

psych2cI identify with this groupAs a retired consultant psychiatrist who worked for years with people experiencing the very worst that Parkinson’s can do, I diagnosed myself in 2019. I have been helped by levodopa, but since I now live in Los Angeles, have struggled to connect with Americans with PD. This podcast has enabled me to connect with voices, and people I recognized from my previous UK life. Very well done all of you!

bumperdadHappy listening in LaLaLandThank you. Listening to you while walking Bumper, our Chesapeake Bay Retriever, in a dog park in the Hollywood Hills. My husband has Parkinson’s and has been looking for something offering an honest and insightful public discussion of the things he is going through. Sounds like he’s found it. Over here in California, there’s a tad too much prayer and politics around Parkinson’s and not enough piss-taking. Good luck with your new venture and, Rory, please give @sophiefromromania a belly rub from us. Best, Stephen, Stephen (husband’s name too, not a typo) and Bumper.

RamaKRaoMovers and Shakers 1Loved your witty chatter and sense of grace while struggling with this disease. Your positive attitude was infectious. Some additional suggestions if you don’t mind…..Gillian and the woman’s or Mom’s perspective may need a session in itself as they may well have a very different perspective from a male perspective. Secondly a more detailed viewpoint and sharing of the family and caregivers perspective could help. I really liked the point you folks made about the medical advances taking place to cure this disease and your emphasis on discussing the impact on less privileged folks - both in terms of economic circumstances and race/ethnicities Finally if this can be translated to other languages I believe it could be very beneficial to those struggling alone. I look forward to your future podcasts Thank you all for sharing your stories that demonstrates your strength courage and fortitude Rama
