    Slater is OUTSTANDING (10/10!)
Slater’s writing and delivery is completely unmatched. She has the incredibly rare ability to paint a picture with such beautiful language and articulation, you get lost in her magic. You just do not hear other people/podcasts taking the time, or heart, to deliver this type of content with her level of detail, research and passion. I listen to many (MANY) true crime podcasts and absolutely none of them measure up to this woman. Please keep it up - I almost can’t listen to anyone else now! Wishing Tank well, but grateful and excited to have the full focus remain on the absolute force that is Investigator Slater. Her solo episodes are phenomenal. 10/10 recommend!

I listen because I don’t have to listen
Slater needs to update her free grammerly subscription to the paid version. She speaks without knowing the pronunciation. (I’m channeling her now) her superfluous verbosity is indicative of an absence of the true understanding of the information she is delivering. Additionally, her grammatical rearrangements point to a notable misunderstanding of the basic English language. (Back to me) I enjoy Tank, he does not pretend to be smarter than he is. Which I actually believe is quite smart. I appreciate Slater’s attempt but it feels like she is trying too hard. Being impressed with a well worded sentence is not the same as conveying depth and connection to a story. I leave each podcast unaffected, simply happy to have had something to listen to on my 12 hour shift that I don’t have to pay too much attention to because it won’t matter how much of it I zoned out of anyways. Best of luck to y’all. Everyone should check out Redhanded or Crime Junkies. Far superior.

Soooo many ads. “Tank’s” voice is so annoying. They do none of their own research. Awful podcast.

    Love this show so much
I am so glad I found this podcast when I did! It’s inspiring and captivating all in one. I have listened to almost every episode. Your goodbye to Tank was so sweet it made me tear up. You’re both such good people. Slater, can’t wait to continue to eat up your content!

    This ship has Tanked
Tank is leaving psychopedia! My nights have no meaning - my world is a black abyss 🤦🏽‍♀️ how can I wake up in the morning knowing the sun will rise without these two’s quick wit and banter. I’m a ship lost at sea- no direction no way back home- the only home I’ve ever known -Psychopedia Podcast! And I was just going to subscribe with the patreon name “NOT P diddy’s 3rd titty, Tank goodness”… now it will never have its place in the patreon name hall of fame

Okay I love this podcast. I started listening after I found investigator slater’s tik tok, and I’ve been hooked since. The storytelling is impeccable, and there is always a great deal of research and investigation down into the content. I also appreciate that you cover more than just “regular” true crime- I’ve found some of the cult/paranormal episodes the most interesting. I also like that yall are respectful of victims and focus on them more than the offender. I do have to say tho that tank sounds like the trickster voice on tik tok but I’m here for it haha

It’s ok — but there are definitely better (and worse) crime podcasts out there. I sometimes listen to this when I’ve run out of episodes from my go-to podcasts. It can be entertaining, but I don’t understand the need for quizzes scattered throughout. It’s annoying that I have to fast forward through them. Also, Tank is super creepy. He has been a snake as I watched him grow his social media influence (from when he claimed he would never make money off of social media while taking money from advertisers), so I debate whether it’s right to support this podcast, but I find the female partner entertaining.

WAS a fan until they became SUPER tone deaf
I was a super fan of this podcast since day one and even paid for the highest level of pateron until it felt like the episodes were becoming more and more tone deaf. In their recent episodes, cases are discussed in what fells like an inappropriate manner. One episode about a mass shooting included a good 5 minutes of them talking about how much fun it was to shoot guns at a range? In the same episode they repeatedly misgendered someone even after making it a point that they were trans, AND they released it literally a day after trans-visibility day - without mentioning ANYTHING about the extremely high suicide rates among trans youth. It honestly felt like a slap in the face and I haven’t listened to an episode since. Overall, disappointed more than anything :(

    Psychopedia or nothin’
I know it seems ridiculous, but the only reason I listen to any other podcasts is because I’m waiting for more episodes of this one. I find the very real friendship between Slater and Tank to be SO comforting and great to listen to because it reminds me of my own best friend and I when we get together. I like that they have disagreements and differing opinions at times and also give each other positive reinforcement. The cases are interesting and gruesome, personal favorite is Colleen Stan. Thanks for presenting these horrific stories with grace, humility and humor.

    But did she die
Love you guys. Always keeping it entertaining. I love how you guys interact with each other and all the information on the cases are so well explained. Keep it up you psychos.

    AMAZING
I literally have never heard a podcast this good in my entire life!!! Every time I open up a podcast, here or Patreon, I feel truly like I’m hanging out with my best friends. I’ve never been so intrigued and yet laughed so hard at a podcast before. Even when Tank and Slater talk about life and literally anything, I never once have wanted to skip ahead. I binged every single episode here and on Patreon as fast as I could and I wait patiently for more every week!! Couldn’t be a better true crimedy podcast out there. Love, love, LOVE!!!

Doing my part and leaving a heart!
I love this podcast! I started about a month ago and I love how well researched every episode is! Investigator Slater is a gifted orator and delivers an eloquent story every. Single. Time!

Take my eyes but not my jolly rancher!
This podcast is, without a doubt, the best in every category of existence! The storytelling by Slater is absolutely captivating; she has a remarkable ability to draw listeners in and keep them engaged. Her narrative style is not just informative but also deeply immersive, making you feel as if you’re right there in the story. A genius! The chemistry between Slater and Tank is a standout feature. Their banter is charming and hilarious, providing a perfect balance to the serious subject matter. They skillfully navigate the line of dark humor, bringing levity to heavy topics without veering into political territory nor shying away from witty jokes. This unique approach makes each episode enjoyable and thought-provoking. Hands down, the one and only true crime podcast that is so deserving of every true crime lovers time and subscriptions. I said what I said.

I’ve really been struggling with finding another podcast I can stand to listen to everyday. But yall make it so I can laugh and listen to my favorite category. I’m a dog groomer so I have my head phones on all day and just burst into laughter randomly and everyone thinks I’m crazy because they know I listen to true crime lol! Good work yall keep it up!

    Non Traditional Awesome Sauce
I have never seen a comedy true crime podcast but really enjoyed this! I love the dynamic of Slater and Tank but also love them individually such as when Slater did some episodes without Tank. This podcast isn’t traditional and that’s ok!! I don’t understand why people are upset with a lot of commentary, I love it because it’s different and this podcast is different. You don’t have to agree with everything said either not even Slater and Tank agree sometimes. It’s a great example of human psychology both in true crime and daily life. I love what the two hosts bring to the table and I would love to see them on tour one day.
  • JmeLynnG
    The best!
Update: I still love this show, but there are so many commercials now I feel like it’s most of the episode. I just found this podcast and I am a true crime fan! I love how they dissect crimes, give thoughts, and you feel like you’re hanging out with friends while talking about crazy crimes! I am hooked. Love them both!!
  • LMFT in KY
Hilarious!!! Who knew true crime could be so funny!
I stumbled onto your podcast from an advertisement in another true crime podcast. I’m a therapist and I truly appreciate all the time and effort that is put into looking at the mental health issues that lead to these types of crimes. But holy smokes, the comedy and on air chemistry you guys have is great! I never thought I would laugh and giggle so much during a podcast about such awful situations. And you’re so respectful in how you present the cases and to the victims. I really enjoy this podcast! I binge listen when I’m cleaning house or walking the dogs. So thank you both for keeping me entertained while I do the daily chores as a mother to both humans and dogs! ❤️

    Love !💥🎉
Love both of these hosts. Slater is a thorough investigator and a fantastic writer. Tank is a great counterpart to Slater gives great feedback and little bits of wisdom. And is randomly really good at speaking other languages. One of the only podcasts I DONT fast forward through the chit chat at the beginning and the end. Not to mention neither of them have a face for radio. Both of them are just beautiful outside but most importantly on the inside as well.💙

    Looooove
I found out about you guys when you were guests on heart starts pounding podcast. I immediately started following you guys. I just finished binging all your episodes. Investigator slater, you are absolutely good at researching and writing up the cases. Your unwavering cheerleading of Tank is the cutest, sweetest thing EVER. Tank you’re funny, lol. My favorite parts are when investigator slater laughs so hard, it goes quiet for a few and I’m thinking something happened to my phone 😂 also, your patience with tank is admirable. Also, as a California girl i looove you guys accent!
  • GinaBena22
Investigator Slater = “Killing It” :)
Love this murder podcast!! This has easily become my favorite true crime podcast, love this pair. The perfect pairing of super detailed and eloquent true crime detailed stories, and the levity from tank to not let you get wrapped in morbidity! Love love love

    Definitely a freak…
I was told about this podcast in June of 2024 while on a bachelorette party trip. I started listening to Psychopedia from the beginning on my way home from said trip. I have been binge listening ever since and finally caught up to the new episodes. I’m not going to lie, I hate having to wait for new episodes. I LOVE THIS PODCAST! Thank you for the all the work you put into this show!
  • Taderrrr
    Tank gets annoying
Great podcast overall, but my god Tank gets annoying sometimes with his dumb interruptions and childish behavior. For example the episode with the femicide PQ, and tank kept saying the answer was wrong or a trick question just because of the language it's in. Just grow up and stop being so stupid, are you 5 years old? And his statement about everyone doing their best, yeah, just giving excuses to every lazy, unproductive, unhelpful person. Someone not bothering to help another person in need, oh doing their best I guess. A parent neglecting their child resulting in endangerment, etc, ah well doing their best I guess.
  • CaitlinBi
    The crimedy we all needed!
Slater and Tank have the best banter as they detail and laugh through some of the most heinous true crime cases we all want to know more about, or hear about for the first time!! I feel like I’m in the room with good friends as we chat and learn everything true crime. Tank is -so- muscular and strong, probably the most muscly and powerful man I’ve ever heard of. I mean have you taken a gander at those guns!? Slater is the tiniest and strongest woman on the east coast. And her shoes are only a 4.5!? SO adorable. She is so dedicated and hard working, and honestly she has the sensitivity to tactfully address some of the most difficult cases. I would so be honored to meet them! I feel like I’ve gotten to know Slater and Tank as I’ve binged my way through their episode library, and they are truly the kindest and funniest duo. I would love to meet them one day! I hope you’ll listen to this podcast and give it a shot - you’ll surely get hooked as quickly as I did 🙂

    You’re Losing Me
Taking 2 stars off after the Randy Stair episode. To air this episode within days of Trans Day of Visibility and not even mention the insanely high suicide rate of trans people is just negligent. Yes, Randy was clearly a psychopath, but people are complicated and Randy’s gender dysmorphia and his family’s disregard of it clearly played a large role in these crimes. I find it strange that this was completely ignored. Not to mention Tank’s apparent disgust with our country’s inaction regarding gun violence and then minutes later for both Tank and Slater to chat easily about firing guns for funzies was off-putting. The pseudo-psychiatry and therapy speak is getting old and religion is sneaking its way into episodes more and more. This went from one of my favs to the last pod I listen to after I’m caught up in everything else.

    Can’t stop, won’t stop listening
This is a great take on true crime cases. I’ve never been one for true crime but my friend showed me this pod (shout out to Dottie) and I can’t get enough. The hosts have a great balance and rapport. Like Tank said, Slater “is enthusiastic, passionate, well-researched.” She dives in hard and her writing/insight is amazing, even on cases that you know. Tank gives the real world take and asks the questions that we have. He gives a balance to the macabre with well timed humor to keep the stories level headed. Great work you guys.

    Found on HSP
So I could tell your story telling was going to be something I would like from the join up with HSP. I am like 10/11 episodes in and I honestly love it. I find myself taking those pop quizzes with Tank every time. The little bit of humor makes it easier to stomach some of the rougher cases. Overall great job!

    Addicted!!!!!
At first...I thought the fact that Tanks voice sounds like the gym teacher from Scary Movie would stray me away from the podcast. But BOIIIIIII was I wrong! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I've completely fallen in love with this podcast and honestly LOVE what Tank brings to it! He has so many good inputs to add to the podcast and Slater is always an angel. They kill it everytime and I'm always looking forward to the next episode!!

    Welcome Home Freak
If you are on the hunt for a captivating, moving, thought provoking, and top tier level of respect for true crime victim storytelling. This is it. Investigator Slater paints each case in carefully researched detail, and Tank adds insightful tidbits to human nature. (Let’s also be honest, the BFF chemistry adds a whole other level, and Tank is downright hilarious) As they have said before, Slater brings the gravity and Tank brings the levity. They truly are an amazing duo, who excel at what they do and bringing awareness to the victims they cover and their cases. If true crime is what intrigues you, then you will feel well at home here.

    Psycho for psychopedia
When I hear a friend is also into murder, I freak about telling them about Psychopedia, and to say I’m completely obsessed with Psychopedia is downplaying it! If you love murder (in a totally normal, true-crime way, of course), this podcast is a must-listen. The stories are wild, the storytelling is gripping, the research is detailed, the psychology behind the crimes is fascinating, and there’s just the right amount of dark humor to keep it entertaining while honoring the victims and their families. Every episode pulls me in, and I always end up texting my friends, “You NEED to hear this one!” Whether I’m driving or gardening (because balance),or just in the mood for some murdery goodness, Psychopedia never disappoints. If you’re a true crime junkie, trust me—this is your next favorite podcast!

    New Kind of True Crime!
I recently stumbled upon this podcast looking for a specific case. I cannot tell you how many true crime podcasts, channels, docs, etc I’ve consumed over the years. I feel like I was way more into true crime before it became mainstream. I grew up with my mother watching Nancy Grace and 20/20. Anyway, it’s RARE that I find a new true crime podcast that actually excites me. This one hit the mark in a different way I didn’t know I needed. I’ve been binging ever since. Tank is really enjoyable, keeps it light hearted and funny. Slater does a great job story telling. I really enjoy the cases covered and detail. I want all the gory, messy details. I HATE when it’s skimmed over. Their chemistry flows very well. I’m not a huge fan of banter but enjoy theirs. They keep it short but also sprinkled throughout the episode. It helps connect with them and makes the podcast more personable. I actually would love to learn more about them as people. I’m super excited to check out Unhinged when I’m done binging!
  • internetbridget
    Lose Tank
Dude is full of ignorant neo liberal diatribes. Total cornball who shares trite “wisdom.” The embarrassment transfer is real. Slater is the heart (and brains) of the podcast and deserves better than this doofus. Send dad out to pasture. Until then, hard pass.

    Crime FEIN!
Yall are freaking GREAT! Love the spin you guys put on these cases, and the fact I’ve been listening to crime podcast for years now and you guys are always covering cases I haven’t heard of, is AWESOME!! Keep Killing it, yall just gained another FAN 4 LIFE!!!!

    Really excellent
This is such a good show. Perfectly blends comedy (very funny hosts, I sometimes literally laugh out loud) with true crime. Also has a perfect balance between off-the-cuff banter/quips, with really good pre-written explanation/research on the subject. Found this show from when HSP had them on and now I have two favorites. EDIT: please for the love of god change the horrible RAM truck commercial theme music. Otherwise still love this podcast

I LOVE this podcast. Great research, perfect flow of storylines and delivery, and tasteful jokes and banter. Tank and Slater have an awesome friendship vibe/working relationship. They are also individually relatable and come off as normal down to earth people. Can we be friends? 😂 I love this podcast so much I became a first time ever Patreon member just so I could get more of the podcast. Heck, this is my first podcast review ever. Absolutely worth a listen! Con: I agree with the other reviews, I am not a fan of the guest appearances. Messes with y’all’s natural flow together.

  • Listener Beware
    No More Guests!
I have listened to your show from the inception and I truly love it, but I can’t stand the guests. This one was un-listenable as was the one with Mark Normand. He is so cringe I was embarrassed. Please stick to just the two OGs
  • Ain’t.broke/don’t.fix.it
    Just the two of us
STOP HAVING GUESTS. You guys are my favorite podcast. Outsiders are ruining the flow/banter/vibe. It’s not needed, please stop 💚 ….. Update 3/8/25 Three is a crowd. Guys… it’s a true crime(edy) podcast. Please stop with the guests. Tank interrupts enough (love you Tank), there is never a need for a third. Totally ruins it. I’ve never skipped an episode besides this one, but I will be skipping all episodes with guests moving forward.
  • Court6921
    Absolutely love
I would love to just hang with these two for a day. Slaters investigation and story telling skills are top tier. Tank does great at lightening the mood with his positive Tid bits and humor. This quickly became my number one podcast recently and I am working y way through the list. If you haven’t covered it yet can you please do a deep dive into Kibbi Linga!

    Investigator Slater
Of course this show is fantastic with both hosts, but Investigator Slater and I share a birthday, so she has to be awesome 😂😂

    So Entertaining!
I’m late to the party but was told about this podcast by a coworker - it’s now my favorite! My first episodes were during the WDW Marathon and while it seemed like the most un-Disney thing to listen to while running through Magic Kingdom, it kept me so entertained! The crimes are so interesting and the narration is superb. The story-telling is so well written and the banter brings up things we, as the listener, are probably already thinking. I just used two episodes to get me through the WDW Princess Half Marathon (again very un-Disney but what can I do?). The crimes are not for the faint of heart but if you like true crime, I couldn’t recommend this podcast more! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    First time reviewing a podcast
I’ve been listening to this podcast for a long time - and love the weekly cases - Tank adds just enough humor to make the cases easier to take and I love the obvious friendship you share. My real 5 star review is for Investigator Slater, her research, writing and delivery is fantastic. The cases are interesting but the writing keeps me coming back- thanks so much for all of your hard work!
  • mtranchfarmerwife
    Good show!
Sorry, Tank, you aren’t the only comedic true crime podcast (LPOTL fan too) but your reactions are still good! Would go to Patreon but being called a “Semen Demon”…I just can’t do it! You guys are doing a great job! I really enjoy the quizzes too!
  • Lunaa1720
I’ve listened to this show so much I’ve started dreaming about it
This show pulled me in so fast that I didn’t even see it coming. The cases are always interesting, the banter is something out of a screwball comedy, and the pop quizzes are delightfully disturbing. I’ve been listening to as many as 4 or 5 episodes a day to catch up, and apparently, I still need more because my brain has started to manufacture Investigator Slater’s voice in my dreams. So far it’s been replays of past episodes but I’ve enjoyed them nonetheless. The presentation is always eloquent and respectful, without seeking to censor the facts of the case. I’m always surprised by Tank and Slater’s ability to bring humanity amidst these dark stories. 5 stars!
