    Love the perspective
I love hearing from Lori’s perspective first as a Bible-believing, Jesus-loving Christian, but also as a former hospital nurse who now operates as a natural, physiological-birth midwife!!

Good Info, Impeded by Fearful Delivery
I found this podcast hoping to soon become pregnant, valuing God’s design for natural birth and a woman’s capabilities, and seeking more education on natural birth. I was disappointed that I couldn’t continue listening. After 7 episodes I had to stop because Lori injects such good information with such potent negativity and fear that it was difficult to continue. There are myriad ways to educate and empower her audience without subsequently telling them (explicitly or implicitly) how to think or feel about the information. It was not empowering as a listener to feel like I was being told how to think/feel about the information. (And her information is actually very good!) It would have been empowering if she simply presented the information, both good and bad, in an objective manner, and with a spirit of encouragement. It would have been empowering to hear her articulate a boundary between where her opinion and experiences end, and where her expertise and professional recommendations begin. It is indeed possible to be a passionate educator, without instilling fear or her own biases into her listeners. It was not empowering for me to hear her demonize and slander the opposing viewpoint (i.e. the medicalization of birth). Doing so actually did not bolster her message, but rather damaged her credibility. It frustrates me that she does this, because I actually agree with her message. However, it is not helpful to tear down the opposing viewpoint. Instead, it would have been empowering for me to hear her explain information in an objective way that still convey her message of the opposing viewpoint, such as: possible risks of hospital births, the factors that contribute to negative outcomes, the prevalence of dissatisfaction among mothers who give birth in a hospital, the likelihood of a medical professional engaging in medical coercion, the gaps in care at the hospital, the limitations of a medically moderated birth, the systemic flaws of the hospital, etc. It was not Lori’s information that turned me away, it was her cynical and fear-laden delivery. I think it is particularly frustrating to hear Lori’s podcast because as someone who agrees with her message and beliefs, her cynical delivery and subliminal tone of fear impedes her very message, and disempowers the very listeners she is trying to empower. Which is an injustice to her listeners. It would be a justice to objectively educate about the expertise she possesses. My favorite episodes from Lori’s podcast were episodes 23-25, with guest Sue Becker, who does an excellent job at sharing her own message with compelling data that is scientifically and Biblically sound, historical accounts and secondary sources that support Sue’s research, and listener testimonies. All of which are shared in the spirit of encouragement to her (Sue’s) listeners.

    The Best Natural Birthing Podcast
First of all, I love listening to Lori because it always feels like sitting with a friend. Sometimes I listen just to have that sweet company!l and Christian fellowship while I drive or clean up the house. But most of all I love her faith combined with her knowledge/experience. She is exhaustive in her topics on natural birthing from nutrition, to breastfeeding, and so much more. If there is something you want some info about, it’s probably here somewhere. And, if you want a humble and super informed podcaster to listen to regarding natural birth this is it!! Ugh love it!

    Great podcast
Lori has a great way to express the best way that God designs us. She also helped me look into better forms of insurance (or well, it’s not called insurance), better ways to birth naturally, and many more things. She also helped me see that it is okay to have a hospital birth. I am pregnant with my first child and am preparing for a natural birth at the hospital. The hospital is known to be a good hospital and I know someone that works in the maternity department. I will also explore the hospital details and my husband it able to help me advocate for myself. I hope in the future I can home birth, but right now my house is too small and I’d be more confortable with my first child to have hospital access. Anyways, I will say that Lori has a lot of commercials which does both me a bit. Great informative podcast, though.

Such a blessing during this pregnancy
Thank you Lori! I’ve been so encouraged and have learned so much as we prepare to welcome baby boy #3 here in just a couple of weeks. I have chosen homebirth this time around and hearing your perspective and God’s design for birth has been so helpful as I’ve tried to keep my mind focused on Him and seeking to obey Him and follow His best through this pregnancy and impending birth. For other listeners- I will say Lori is very committed to homebirth as the best option in most circumstances, and understandably, chooses to present her audience with information from that perspective. If you want a natural hospital birth, there is still so much to glean from this podcast, but not all the episodes will be for you. She is passionate about assisted home birth because she has seen both sides of the coin and clearly expresses how much better things can be when we get out of the way and surrender to God’s design and plan for pregnancy and birth. As much as I’ve learned about birth and pregnancy, I’m most grateful for the episodes Lori has that are full of biblical wisdom and encouragement, that focus solely on remembering and trusting our good and gracious God in all of life and choosing to do the best we can for our families and our babies for His glory!

    Pregnancy after loss
Hello Lori, thank you so much for creating this podcast. It has been such a blessing! I was hoping that we would be able to do an episode on the topic of having pregnancy and going through that after having a miscarriage and just trusting God and your body. My first pregnancy resulted in a miscarriage then I had a successful pregnancy that resulted in a perfect baby boy. I also used your birth course during that pregnancy and it was so helpful and amazing! I am now currently 7 weeks pregnant and still struggling with the fear of losing this baby due to the first miscarriage. Thank you so much for all your help and wisdom!

    Stay Away
I was looking for a Christian podcast to learn from throughout my pregnancy and am horrified that a podcast like this exists. It pushes the idea that if you don’t have an all-natural pregnancy and birth then you aren’t following God’s will for this season of your life, which is an incredibly harmful ideology to spread. Lori’s messages shame women who trust the medical field in any sense- whether she means them to or not. The Biblical references she pulls are misunderstood and cherry-picked at best; and deceitful and malicious at worst. It seems like Lori was hurt by her past job in the medical field, and this podcast is her way of projecting her bad experiences on others. I am ESPECIALLY horrified that these messages are being pushed with Christian “backing”. Please, Lori, if you continue this podcast I BEG you to drop the “Christian” perspective you think you’re teaching. Shaming and scaring people is one awful thing, but shaming and scaring people under the guise that “Christ agrees with me” (he doesn’t!) is absolutely wicked. I will actively make sure that no woman in any of my communities listens to this podcast.

Do yourself a favor and follow Lori, TODAY
I am HOOKED. I have searched and searched for a platform that unapologetically and boldly addresses truth in all aspects. Lori encourages you to critically think about the subjects she presents in order for you to make the most informed decision. Keep doing what you’re doing. You are the beacon of light and hope so many people need. Blessings to you and your family.

Great Resource for Preconception, Pregnancy, Postpartum and Beyond!
Thank you for the podcast. I recently found it after two empowering unmedicated births and a growing interest in becoming a doula. My youngest is 12 months and I wanted to share that episode 125 has been very eye opening about metabolic health. I have since purchased a pedometer, cleaned up my diet and have added more movement into my day. While I haven’t consistently gotten to 7,000 steps-10,000 steps a day, I have been challenging myself to simply get more than my usual in. I have found it difficult with a baby and toddler to get out the door for a 15 minute walk after meals. Instead we have been doing family dance parties usually with worship music. It has been such a great way to get my heart pumping, add more steps into my day and worship our Lord at the same time. Thank you for the podcast, I have been able to share it with my husband who also loves birth as well as a friend. Blessings!

    From fear to faith
This is my second pregnancy. My last pregnancy, we lost our baby in the second trimester. I used to put so much faith and trust into the medical system. Until they failed me in many ways. This podcast has reminded me that the Creator has a plan for the little one he’s creating in my womb. He has made a way! I love the fact that Lori backs up everything she says with scripture. She also gives you the information and facts, and allows you to come up with your own conclusions. I find comfort in listening to her podcasts, and being more informed. Thank you for doing this line of work Lori! The Lord is using you in so many big ways.

    Cast Fear Aside
I have been scavenging through podcasts relating to pregnancy/postpartum/breastfeeding as this is my first pregnancy and I want to be informed. First off, I love that it’s a Christ centered podcast. Her background from being on both sides (medical field and midwife field) really gives her great insight and unique perspectives. I have learned a LOT from this podcast and have been binging this show for the last few weeks now. It is wonderful to be reassured that you are in control of your birth, even in a hospital setting you can still have a birth plan. I will be recommending this show to allllll the pregnant mamma’s I know. Thank you Lori for stepping up and out to help support other women (and their husbands!) during a journey that changes so fast, but is so precious. Keep going! 🥳

    NOT fearmongering
Heyo! Thank you so much Lori for sharing your knowledge and perspective. Your unique experiences from inside the hospital and out help everyone understand Gods true design for women in pregnancy and birth. Keep sharing the truth!!

Incredible Podcast for new mamas and seasoned mamas
As a mom of 4 and expecting #5 this podcast continues to be a godsend. Both prepping for labor and for postpartum. The research and biblical truth is so helpful in continuing my education and prepping adequately for both! I’ve had 3 hospital births and 1 birth center birth (1 medicated birth and 3 unmedicated). I would encourage anyone expecting a baby or supporting a mom having a baby to listen!
  • ChBr23
    First timers, be cautious
I’ve had two beautiful, and medicated, hospital births, and came here to find Christian encouragement for embarking on advocating for myself in a natural birth this round, but in a hospital setting. I listened to episode 96, and that will be my last. While there is truth to the details of a hospital birth’s protocol and objectives, it’s delivered with so much fear mongering and a lack of sharing how you can advocate for yourself to choose otherwise. I’m thankful I didn’t hear this as a first time mom bc I would have been terrified of a hospital birth. The end felt like a sales pitch for a home birthing course, which is maybe why a hospital birth was made to sound terrifying. Tread lightly, mamas!
  • Bre-nurse99
    Lots of Fear Mongering
As a pregnant labor and delivery nurse, I tried to listen to a couple episodes of this podcast but I won’t be able to listen to any more. Specifically the episode about Cytotec had a lot of out of context information and did not explain the medical indications or uses of the drug well at all. If I wasn’t a nurse in this field, I would’ve been terrified after listening to this episode. I feel like there is lots of bias and fear mongering in this podcast. I do love how it’s centered around God’s plan and His sovereignty in the birthing process, so that’s why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. But I’ll definitely be warning my friends to use discernment before listening to this podcast.

    Amazing!
Finally found a podcast that is exactly what ive been looking for. Ive been struggling with fear in my first pregnancy and all the stories people tell you (mostly negative) but this podcast has helped me fix my eyes on Jesus and find peace in Him for this journey.

    Wow. Just wow.
I’m a breastfeeding counselor working with moms in a rural WNC county with 1 year of experience. Previously I was a special educator before following God’s leading to homeschool and better disciple my own 2 children. I have learned so much through my department trainings, but I was looking for more faith-based prenatal and postpartum education. This podcast has been such a blessing and has taught me so many new things to help my clients and their families-I’ve even shared many podcasts with my husband and we’ve learned together too-especially the birth control discussion. This episode was life changing for us. Through God’s mercy and providence we are pregnant with our 3rd and I’m relying even more heavily on Lori’s (spelling?) teachings. Thank you Lori for your work and thank you Heavenly Father for this ministry! (And P.S. I’ve had 2 previous C-sections so I’m hoping to hear more info from you on recommendations for this delivery. From my learning I’m wondering if I should’ve even had my first C-Section 🤯)
  • Kristin Huf.
    So much wisdom!
My first birth was a planned c section. For my second birth, I wanted a natural VBAC but was scared and pressured the minute I walked into the hospital and my VBAC did not go as planned AT ALL. This time around, I am feeling more confident as I prepare with Lori's knowledge and wisdom. I am putting trust in my body and the Lord's good design and am excited for this third birth. Thankful that she shares so much knowledge and truth.

    So Refreshing
This podcast is so refreshing. I love hearing about pregnancy, birth, and nutrition from a Christian perspective. God knows what is best and it’s exciting when other people recognize that too! Lori has such a comforting voice and I always learn something new. Thank you!

    Love your podcast so much!
Hi Lori! Your podcast is such a blessing! It is wonderful to hear someone talk about this from a Christian perspective. God created birth and there is such a huge missing piece when people try to take Him out of the equation. I am still very young, not married and not pregnant, but I love learning about midwifery, as I hope to start a family and become a mama someday. I’ve recently begun to consider becoming a midwife and was wondering if you would consider doing an episode sharing your take on the best way to go about that and/or ways to know you’re a good fit for the job? Specifically without getting a nursing degree. From what I’ve seen I would much rather do an apprenticeship to become a CPM, but I still have a lot more research to do! I would also love to hear your take on what life is like as a midwife. I haven’t found a whole lot of podcasts that talk about this, so I would love to hear about it from you! Thank you so much, you’re a huge blessing, Lori!❤️ And I have several friends/family members who love your podcast as well☺️

    Beautiful God centered podcast
I am planning a homebirth with my first due in January and found your show recently and it has blessed me very much. With every episode I feel more prepared and excited about giving birth. I’m not scared I’m actually looking forward to it because I know God made my body for this! God bless you and your family and thank you for your show 💓😊
  • Great app and News channel!
THANK YOU- Lori has transformed my pregnancy
These topics are so incredible! She has talked on so many things that are hard to find credible information on. She’s helped me be fully prepared for birth and life after. Having so much information in one place is incredible! I no longer have to search for hours trying to find a biblical and scientific explanation for things. Her experience is evident and every topic is well thought out and crucial for us to fully understand and make educated decisions in a country where big pharma has taken over the birth experience.

    Lori is a Godsend!
I am 32 weeks pregnant with my first child and I had no idea where to even begin looking for information about what to expect. I started listening to her podcast and I purchase her birthing course. I have learned so much! With all of her extensive experience and knowledge, I feel confident and prepared to have my baby! Through her birth course (which is more thorough than any other), and her live Q&A sessions, I have felt like Lori has become my own personal midwife, and I feel incredibly blessed to have her as a resource and support. Thank you, Lori, so appreciate you and your ministry!!!
  • Meryllia
Wish I discovered this podcast sooner!
I’m 38 weeks and on my fourth episode with this channel! so much great knowledge being shared, I feel like i’m learning a lot, thank you Lori! I’ve been listening to different birthing channels throughout my pregnancy but felt like I really needed a strong Christian voice/perspecrove as some of the info out there sounds new age-ish. So thankful to stumble across this page, my regret is not discovering it sooner 😩 but thankful for this info. Thankful for her heart for Christ and sharing info! I sadly won’t be able to have a home birth as we can’t afford it, it just makes more sense to have at the hospital with our insurance but thankful to be able to go in knowledgeable. Please keep me in prayer as it isn’t always easy to advocate for myself and i’m pursuing a VBAC being GBS+. Planning to listen to more episodes for the remainder of my pregnancy.
  • dancingbears33
Just what I needed to hear!
I’m about 6 weeks out from baby #5-first home birth, last birth was at a birth center. I like to say, “I’m great at giving birth.” Yet I’ve been so anxious about having this one and listening to this last episode about contractions was such a good reminder of what I already knew and have already experienced that my body knows how to do this and it does it well! Thank you for the timely wisdom from the Lord!

    So thankful for this podcast!
I am so thankful for Lori and this podcast! When I found out I was pregnant with our 5th child and that child actually was twins haha I started listening to as many podcasts as I could. I found Lori and was so grateful for her encouragement in trusting God and our bodies. Previous this pregnancy I had had 3 homebirths and one hospital birth and of course with twins you’re “high risk” and require an OB. But I knew God gave me twins for a reason and that He made my body able to deliver them. Lori’s podcasts were always so encouraging to me I looked forward to the next one every week… I went on to have a beautiful homebirth and am forever grateful to God to be able to have that experience with my twins. Thank you Lori for always pointing us to Jesus and His ways. You’re truly a gift. ♥️

Good podcast but use discernment each episode!
I had really enjoyed this podcast up until episode 96. As a medical professional myself and a pregnant woman who was educated and able to refuse interventions and use discernment for myself, I felt this episode was full of fear mongering. It only lists the absolute negatives of hospital births and does not give someone an unbiased view. Hospital births can be without interventions or with minimal, but this episode does not convey any of that. Being educated, having a doula, taking classes, advocating for yourself, preparing your body, having a good relationship with your medical team, and ultimately giving it all to GOD can all lead to a successful hospital birth. Don’t let this episode make you feel like it did me - that if you don’t have a home birth your birth was just a medical controlled catastrophe.

I just wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for Lori and her incredible podcast, “Your Birth God's Way.” At 24 weeks into my 2nd pregnancy, I was feeling overwhelmed and uncertain about my OBGYN care and giving birth in the hospital. Your podcast was a beacon of hope and clarity during this crucial time. The way you address birth with such compassion and depth, while firmly rooting everything in Christian values, truly resonated with me. Your discussions about midwifery and home births not only provided the information I needed but also reassured me in a way that felt both uplifting and deeply honest. In today's society, it's rare to find such a genuine and faith-centered perspective on childbirth. Your podcast encouraged me to transfer to a midwife and plan for a home birth, aligning with both my personal values and my desire for a supportive and empowering birth experience. Thank you for your dedication to sharing this vital information and for reinforcing the beauty and sanctity of childbirth through a Christian lens. Your work has made a significant impact on my journey, and I am incredibly grateful.

    WHAT A BLESSING!
I have no doubt about it that God placed this podcast in my lap this week. I’m already so thankful for Lori, her knowledge, & most of all her biblical lense on birth. I love all the tactile takeaways. This was exactly what I was looking for when I did a random podcast search. There is a great balance of meaty info & also constant focus on trusting God with all of it. This is a wonderful tool to start learning about birth before my husband & I embark down this journey - with my hands open versus diving down into a rabbit hole of research like I’d normally do. THANK YOU!

    Tells it like it is
Love Lori’s perspective as a former hospital practicioner whose eyes were opened to how birth was being manipulated in the system. Her podcast shares what she now knows — pregnancy and birth were beautifully designed by our all-knowing, all-loving Creator and we can fully trust in His ways and His plans for our own journeys.

I am currently about to be 21 weeks pregnant and am so thankful I found this podcast! It is so awesome and helpful. I had no idea about the corruption that can come with this topic, pregnancy and birth. If you want to be in Gods will and trust in His plan for your pregnancy, listen to Lori and her education!! She has made me feel way more confident than I was before

    Confidence reignited!
I stumbled upon this podcast by simply searching “natural birth” on apple, gave it a shot, & have now been binging every episode as I get through my daily tasks. Have a notepad & pen ready because every episode is full of tips, wisdom, verses, everything you need to be reminded of that this modern world has convinced us we no longer need. I was struggling with my faith in this pregnancy, worried about my baby, how I would endure birth… and now I have an entire toolbox full of things to help get me through any challenge I may face and wisdom to help keep my focus on God. Thank you, Lori, for getting us refocused and giving us the confidence we need to bring our little blessings into the world!

    Truly Grateful
I am 8 weeks into my pregnancy and I’ve been riddled with fear surrounding nutrition after multiple miscarriages, of what “they” say to eat and mot eat. It’s been crippling. Your podcast shed so much light on truth and security around great sourced nutrition, and it gave me peace that I’ve been praying for since the start of this pregnancy! Thank you SO SO much for being bold and speaking truth. This was the first podcast I’ve heard about faith based pregnancies and I am so excited to hear more!

    Thankful for this podcast!
I just became a Nurse in January and the things that you talk about happening in hospitals are exactly what I see at mine. Since I have learned and seen how things are done in hospitals, it has made me terrified to birth in one. I am currently 23 weeks pregnant with my first child and I am planning on having a home birth with a midwife. Your podcast has given me lots of resources and has helped me be confident in my decision to have a home birth and trust God through the process. Thank you so much for all that you do!

I am so thankful to have found this podcast! I am a birth nerd, and appreciate all the sound information and perspective Lori provides. She is real and gives the truth when it comes to pregnancy and birth. Most of all though, I love how Lori’s focus is on the Lord and His design for us. It is of the upmost importance that we keep our eyes on Him and Lori helps to point her listeners right back to our creator and His Word. Thank you Lori!

A Christian midwife’s knowledge. Exactly what I needed!!!
I’m a mom of 7 soon to be 8. While I'm not new to homebirth after having 6 home births. I did struggle to find a Christian midwife’s tips and knowledge on how to deal with and understand postpartum. Until now that is. I stumbled on this podcast seeking help on postpartum since I struggle so much with it every time I give birth. I found an episode dedicated to answering postpartum questions I had. Ever since listening to that episode I have been binge listening to all the others. I thought I already knew so much about birth and pregnancy since I’ve done so much research over the years and having 7 babies of my own. I am so incredibly amazed at this podcast. It is such a blessing to have a Christian perspective on birth. I feel like so many things I read or watched had a new age feel to it which I don’t believe in. I believe pregnancy and birth is very spiritual and we can only really gain knowledge getting it from the Bible. Lori’s Christian perspective is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Thank you Lori for blessing us women with your time and knowledge. Please don’t stop. It is so encouraging in such an important time in women’s lives.

    Incredible Podcast!
As a first time mom going through my first ever pregnancy, I was desperate to find information that wasn’t sold out to the medical system. I need balanced, rounded info from someone with my worldview - and this podcast has delivered in spades! Thank you thank you thank you so much for presenting birth with the understanding that it is NOT a medical emergency and our Heavenly Father has created us to do this: we just need a bit of guidance! ❤️

Empowering Podcast - Exactly what I needed
I was searching for something with a Christian perspective that talked about parenting and I stumbled (guided by God) onto Lori’s podcast instead. This was about 6 months before I got pregnant and what a blessing it has been. I went from wanting to get pregnant and not thinking much past that, to a whole new way of thinking and a wealth of knowledge. Lori talks about it all, and had really helped to open my eyes to what I want in pregnancy and birth in a way that honors Gods design for us. I’m now just over 5 months pregnant and I’ve done so much to prepare for our little girl. I did take advantage of the Midwife Power Hour that Lori offers - and I would HIGHLY recommend you do that if you’re on the fence about anything, or if you’re just looking for a little reassurance. I also plan to take advantage of her birth class as well. I’ve learned so much, and couldn’t be more grateful for this podcast and all the hard work, knowledge, and love that Lori shares. She speaks faithful wisdom and whether you’re trying to conceive, pregnant or just curious to learn more from a faithful perspective - you’re gonna love this podcast.

    The best reassurance
Since this is my first pregnancy, so many emotions and thoughts flooded me. But the most important thing that my husband and I agreed upon was doing things God’s way and that means as natural as possible without any medical interference. This podcast is a true Godsend. Lori applies faith and backs it up with stats. I look forward to listening everyday as it makes me feel so much more confident in my pregnancy journey and helps know I’m following God’s will. I am so grateful for Lori’s podcast and will also partake in her available courses. I only want to listen to faith based practices and not what the system has to say. I highly recommend this podcast to anyone who also wants to honor God in your pregnancy journey!
