    Best weekly Battletech show
This show has been my goto channel that helps me deal with my daily long commutes. Love the mix of opinions and takes on the stories from all three hosts. Also like the inclusion of mech specs and occasional 80s movie references to match scenes in the books. Great that you guys are getting a number of Battletech authors to speak on the show as it gives us listeners a behind the scenes look at the thought process that goes into these books. Keep these high quality episodes coming and many thanks and appreciate from this listener for what you guys do!

Seriously fun takes on BT novels
I stumbled on this when I was rereading old BattleTech novels and looking for something more in the world of BT content. These three happened to be finishing the very books I was reading, and clearly spent more time pondering and analyzing what the author was trying to get across than the average person, and that got my attention. This podcast is like a serious literary analysis of pulp novels, and does a lot to highlight the care and intention that the authors put into their work. Plus, it’s fun just to listen to a group dissect some of the major events in BattleTech lore. The only complaint I have is that I wish they put out more episodes faster!

A book club that goes deep into the books.
Having read these books many years ago it is such a pleasure to listen to them talk about them and have the same thoughts and ideas that I had many years ago. The depth they go to is incredible. I love the passion they have for the books and the lore. So much fun.

    Fire
I just got into Battletech and decided to jump into the novels. Exploring the early books with these three goofballs has been an absolute pleasure. Commentary is funny and interesting with each member of the tripod bringing their own insights and expertise to the show. The pace is just right, and it's a lot of fun to hear veteran BT fans discuss the universe. Also, the music is absolute fire. Totally giving me that synthy techno 80s feel which is a perfect companion. Keep it up boys.

    Great Listen
Been a Battletech fan forever. Missed some of these books growing up, so happy to have someone read and discuss these. Breathing a new life into old fiction.

Why aren’t you listening to this podcast?!
Retro 80’s music, plots within plots, big stompy robots blasting each other with lasers, particle projection cannons and long range missiles and the occasional awkward character who can’t keep the spaghetti in their pockets from spilling out. These are the things you will behold with your ears when you listen to “Of Mechs and Men.” If you love intrigue, action, BattleTech, cool mechs and three dudes that will relentlessly rag on characters and their tone deaf decisions in the BattleTech universe, you will love OMAN. There are seriously some episodes where I can’t breathe I’m laughing so hard. Keep up the good work boys!

A through armor critical to the fusion reactor!
A great podcast of lively discussion on the books of the Battletech universe. As a fan of the franchise for 30+ years, it’s refreshing to hear people as excited as I am discuss the lore and world building in Battletech. The hosts do a great job on chapter breakdowns of the books they discuss and make the listener feel as if they are part of the weekly book club meeting. I’m especially appreciative of the great audio quality with the recordings. Everyone is easy to hear at the same volume. I haven’t experienced any “quiet mic” issues from the participants. I hope this group keeps up the great work and look forward to them tackling books such as “Wolves on the Border”, and “Wolf Pack”.

    Loving the podcast.
It hits the right balance of going over the plot, discussing the scenes and adding in background flavor of the mechs and situations.

It’s not Steinbeck but that is a good thing
So this is my favorite battletech related podcast. It has just the right amount summary balanced with analysis and reaction/review which is actually a very tricky thing to manage. You can tell the hosts are good friends because they have very real chemistry without falling into the trap of too many inside jokes and references. If you have any interest in the fiction side of battletech this is a must listen.
