ScienceRulezJust….Let the guests talk 🤐Not just Dr Mike …. but he does it a lot - I keep unfollowing out of frustration. A podcast host has an expert on and then talks over them and asks dumb questions the whole time, even ones that were already covered - like they aren’t even listening but just looking for something to jump on. Listening to Dr Mike argue with an obesity expert about calories and insulin, as a young muscular metabolically healthy man - he has NO clue what it’s like for someone not metabolically healthy. Insulin does matter more than calories for being able, if not able, to burn fat - full stop. It’s just a fact at this point - but Dr Mike with his teenager level hormones and 5% body fat wants to argue against it 🤦🏽♀️

Sam_WiseXCGoodGood but listening is Kamala is all hurts my brain

michaelbarbeyFriend Doctor in a pocketMy only criticism is I really disliked the Dr. Israetel episode, it felt like the guest was making up facts based on perspective, like he sat at party, watched a group of people and generalized some behaviors, made some assumptions based on stereotypes and called it a study. I heard no evidence or sources from where he got that information from. I really enjoy Dr. Mike’s content otherwise. From YouTube to Podcast, I truly enjoy the quick medical and informative facts without creating anxiety about health, but mainly a suggestive doctor recommendation, kind of like having a friend who’s a doctor and you can text them at any time.

NorthAbbotWhy Dr. Israetel again?Dr. Israetel is frustrating to listen to. He’s smart, but it’s obvious he mostly likes the sound of his own voice. He’s not having a conversation with you, he’s talking in 5 different directions and hoping you keep up

haralph2Accurate medical info/topicsI’m a family medicine physician in the Midwest and I appreciate someone in our field advocating for and sharing evidenced-based medical info to the general public while also battling social media misinformation. This is not an easy task and I appreciate your team’s time and dedication. While it may be out of your wheelhouse, I’d love to hear a podcast on the topic of maternal healthcare deserts in our country and how poor insurance reimbursements are worsening women’s healthcare access.

-
PurplBannana735Amazing showI think the podcast is really good but I wish it was more like his YouTube channel because in the episode with Nurse Blake they used inappropriate language but other than that it’s really funny podcast
-
CURRY_BALLSGreat educational podcastI really enjoyed Dr Mike’s conversations with a variety of guests. He asks good questions, is a fantastic sympathetic communicator and tries his best to keep things objective. My question: Why do you think some medical professionals fall for non scientific and potentially harmful practices like using non fluoride toothpaste or even being against vaccines?

baroness4teaJohn Hopkins episodeHormone replacement negative is that it causes a huge increase in acid reflux, six fold? increase in occurrence in post menopausal women taking it as opposed to those who do not. Just mentioning because the guest mentioned all the benefits.

casem10Awesome, very informative podcastI’m a relatively new listener, but every episode and guest interview I’ve heard so far has been great! I appreciate that you’re using your platform to educate (us and you), to try and remove stigma or bias, and you’re presenting everything you discuss in a manner that’s very digestible for those that aren’t in a medical profession. I’m not sure if you still address listener questions in your current episodes, but I have a few questions, if you’re willing to answer: 1) What are your thoughts on having a DO as your PCP, and overlapping with a Naturopathic Doctor? I know NDs are not universally board certified in the U.S., but given the relation to (what I understand to be) a DO’s approach, I’m interested in your answer. 2) I’ve heard you talk about supplements (multiple times), and it’s pretty clear you’re not a fan. I’m wondering if you’d have a different stance on supplement use, if: a) a patient sees their PCP who performs blood (or other) tests and identifies certain supplements that may address area(s) of concern, and b) the supplements used are sold directly by the doctor requesting / evaluating the test results (and are non-proprietary to that specific medical professional), AND are also evaluated for quality, efficacy, etc., by that same PCP…or do you still believe all supplement use is unnecessary and just today’s version of the same old snake oil?

AnonymousPerson8912Ive lost respect for you.How can you give Transgender doctors airtime? What a crock. Transgender surgeries will go down as modern lobotomies.
-
JonJon GlickAwesome podcast!!I really enjoy this podcast, but would like to see one thing changed…for me, and I think most other people as well, it feels more respectful and respectable if swear words are bleeped (or peewooped;) out. But maybe you have a specific reason for not doing that. But thanks a lot for the podcast!!

Scoody DidWhat Media Should Be Used ForI’ve been watching his stuff since middle school, and now as a premed student I look to him as a role model. He seeks new information and skills to be a better doctor to his patients, and uses his standing on social media to inform and educate the public on important matters in a digestible and easy to understand manner. This podcast is great because it allows students and people like me to learn more about our ever evolving world from the perspective of the people who are watching it the closest. Please continue to do this for as long as you can!

Jocy G.A little urgent…/Thanks for your help!Hi! Dr. Mike I have a medical question that a lot of people have not been able to understand nor solve; My mother, 29 year old female, high blood pressure (takes pills), exercises for about 1-3 hours 5 days a week. Has this noise in her head that she hears often and we know that it isn’t anything psychological because if anyone puts their ear close enough to that spot you’d be able to hear it! It sounds like a buzzing noise but not like a bee, more like a caterpillar (though caterpillars do not make that sound), the only thing I have been able to find it similar to is the cicada, except more deafening like a low buzz that makes it sound and feel numbing, and in a rhythm a really stable rhythm. Can you please tell me about what it might be? It has been going on for about 2-4 years now and she gets it everywhere but more specifically when she tries to go to sleep. - Jocy G. (Also could you invite Blair’s White to the podcast I think that the conversation would be amazing between the two of you!)

TayleegeertsenLove this podcast/Request!I love this podcast. It teaches me so much about health, but I have a request. Could you do a podcast on how to eat healthier I’ve been having a rough time eating more than I’m supposed to or not eating healthy food. I would consider myself a binge eater and I need help getting over this. Could you do an episode about getting better at eating healthier?

mikeyboo22WonderfulLove your latest podcast episode with Jonathan Haidt. I completely agree with keeping children from social media. I’ve seen the damage. It poses nothing useful for our youth. Please keep having podcasts like this. Keep educating everybody maybe not everyone is going to agree with you or with your guest for that matter, but I think this is the most important podcast and will be sending it off to my daughter.

KBoH96215Phenomenal Discussion w/ Jonathan HaidtIt was so refreshing to hear two professionals unabashedly discuss the negative impacts of social media use on child and adolescent development. Thank you for providing informative and reliable content, Dr. Mike!

EvanjkaGreat Podcast - Medical Question Below:If people have died from cardiac arrest and been brought back to life… Don’t we know what happens when people die? Studies show people who are “dead” from cardiac arrest may have dream like thoughts.

~AmyBLove it all, but the Dr. K one is extra specialLove every episode of this show that I have listened to, but my favorite so far is the one with Dr. K. I could have legitimately listened to 8 hours of their conversations, and was actually disappointed when a part two wasn’t announced. Looking forward to future episodes, Dr. K or not!

Suzannah TroyInterview w/ Dr K Excellent twists, turns and insightswow, what a show that was phenomenal the doctor Kay interview. I am a victim of a violent crime at a doctors office in New York City and part of the strategy to cover up for the Crimes was to say that I'm crazy meaning mentally ill. I alerted the Manhattan DA that I was being harassed, threatening misogynist Hate crime threat posted on Google youtube but also someone claiming to be a medical patient saying I'm crazy until I pointed out if I was crazy meaning you believe me to be mentally ill would mean that the Crimes committed at the doctors office and you harassing me or even more egregious. I had to ask another doctor if Hippocratic oath really exists and it was impossible to report any wrongdoing. Any crimes and more crimes were committed to make all crimes disappear. Still trying to get Justice and October 1 would be 12 years and the threat to me posted on YouTube with October 7 and I told the DA thought it was a lawyer that I protested for his treatment of the NYPD victim. I have PTSD and I really appreciate what Dr. K said about it and about meditation. we also enjoyed the Bryan Johnson interview, although it would be harmful for the environment and planet for people not to die. It's just not part of the Grand design. there was another interview where the gentleman brushed aside food as an addiction, but try and eat something filled with oil like french fries or popcorn and just have one fry or one piece of popcorn.

Events24Great Podcast - Great GuestsThanks for creating such balanced and informative podcasts. My PCP’s have always been DO’s since 1981 when I started working in an Osteopathic hospital network. Wow have things changed in healthcare. I think your explanation of the difference between DO’s & MD’s is the best I’ve seen. OMT is amazing and can be so different from one provider to the next. Looking forward to more of you work. Enjoy the YouTube channel too!

jamie_144I love it!!Super insightful podcast! Dr. Mike is amazing. I would love to see trevor wallace / stiff socks on the pod!
-
Dia_MPLSGreat PodcastDobroye Utro (still trying to master Cyrillic), I am hooked on this podcast after listening to the Barbara Corcoran (what a gem) interview. I find Dr. Mike to be witty, genuine, and endearing. His content is informative and honest. Further, he has a natural rapport with his guests which makes this podcast very engaging for the listening audience. I do have a medical question that I think would be pertinent to a lot of people. If one suspects they may have sleep apnea what are the steps to pursue a sleep study and a possible diagnoses? Is this something that should be initiated with one’s primary care physician?

Ducks in a boatCoolI like putting this on when I’m bored I need something to listen to considering I’m intrigued by psychology and the human body and other sciencey things. Thanks for the podcast.

jm.ossola24The first review I’ve writtenI don’t write podcast reviews, but I have gained so much from these! Keep going doctor Mike! Love his compassion. My wife is very eastern medicine (and also a little anti vax), and even she listened to this and mentioned she liked his opinions and the nuance he brings to these podcasts. Love it!

Esha.11Question for podcastHi Dr. Mike, One of my favorite things about your podcasts is the care you take to find and invite very cool guests. What goes into the research process and how/where does the “homework” for these episodes fit into your work schedule? Love the Ginny episode btw!
-
KJkjkjkjkjkjkjkjMy favoriteJust found this pod, absolutely love it! Would love if you could do an episode on infertility/struggles with conception for people with endometriosis. Currently dealing with that issue! Thanks for helping me get through my work day!
