BreeeezyMSThis cannot be her best workI usually do not pay attention to the ad comments but literally I just listened to an episode that was over 13 minutes of ads and less than 12 minutes of actual content. The entire second season could have been condensed into one mini episode. Instead it was drawn out with commercials and no real content. This is clearly not your best work.
-
MyyriToo short and too many adsThe episodes are too short with too many ads. I tried listening to one episode that had at least 5 ads in a row. There might have been more but I gave up listening during the 5th ad.
-
GbyJimBinge worthyI like the style of narration for this show. Host is concise and clear. Easy to binge episodes.
-
Rita_MarieWhy is there constant music?!I tried so hard, but it’s absolutely impossible to focus on what is being said, with nonstop music playing the entirety of an episode. I kept thinking it would stop. Nope. Why? Imagine listening to a speaker and having music playing in the background? No one does that. I wish I could’ve listened, but it’s just ridiculous and unnecessary.
-
MaverickAbundanceInteresting content!Enjoy the content and the podcast host.
-
erin vgUnreal!! Love this podcast!!!Love this series and love everything Jami does!!!
-
BringersenInteresting story BORING hostSubject is everything couldn’t get past the first episode on 1.5x. I am sure this host has improved since she started as evidenced by the additional podcasts and topics but could not handle how terrible the storytelling was, unclear facts to fit narrative, and terrible cringey ads. “hey criminal if you are listening check out better help… it just might help!” Cringey. Yuck.
-
Beans22223333222Don’t waste your timeAwful. Constantly rehashing the same information each episode with very little new or relevant content. The 5++ minutes of commercials in the middle are annoying and overkill. I know you need to make money but seriously that is just greed.
-
GPSnarkGreat story, wince-triggering hostLook lady, you do a great job on delivering this astonishing tale but can you please cut out the cringeworthy attempts to be relatable on the Better Help commercials? Maybe they are scripted and false, a way to show how so many women are driven mad by patriarchy & free market capitalism (in which a woman’s only real value is how many puppies she produces). Women hating other moms? Check. Women wanting to harm their husbands? Check. I just came here to leave this after the host’s “side note” comment when she describes something as “douchey”—girl, stop using gross demeaning vernacular in your attempt to virtue-signal your faux-feminist bona fides.
-
tc2538Over producedI just started listening and find the back-round music very distracting and unnecessary. I enjoy the host but not sure I can tune out the music.
-
BustaCrimes617Dragging Out ContentI don’t like this show. A bunch of yip yapping and dragging out the story for no reason. A gazillion episodes about Tara Lee repeating the same stuff over and over. We get it Tara Lee is a scammer and horrible person who took advantage of innocent people by exploiting their vulnerabilities. Good grief stop trying to drag out the episodes by asking guests to join the show to rehash junk you’ve already talked about 450 times already.

infiniti69TOO MANY ADS!I enjoy the show and I like Jami’s style of narration. However, after listening to many episodes I just can’t anymore. The number of ads is excessive. They’re intrusive and distracting. They are poorly placed and annoying to try to skip through. Some of the episodes have so many ads that they cover almost half of the total run time of the story being told! I understand that ads help pay the bills, but maybe cut down on some of the bills so that the ads can be cut down. Ads are infuriating. Literally NO ONE likes advertising. Advertising is a form of unwelcome psychological manipulation, which is nefarious and evil in and of itself. Podcasters need to figure out a way to produce their content without subjecting their audiences to greed-centric mind games. Capitalism is a disease that is crippling this country and it’s a disease that’s killing people every day. If we don’t begin to stand United against this disease we can never be cured from it! STOP WITH THE ADS!

Mally_Mal_Mal6789Great showSo glad I found this show. Keep it up!

Mo497417264LoveI absolutely love this podcast, I eagerly await every Thursday to see what new episodes there will be. I like everything from the content to the way the episodes are told. Truly one of my very favorites.

podcast6Donad3Background noise way too Loud
-
KGee214Background music...noI listened to Murderish and thought I'd try this one, but I can't listen to podcasts with constant background music and noises. I gave up.
-
HoodoosartWeakening contentThird season doesn’t live up to the level of interest 1&2 presented. Seems thrown together too fast without more meat on the bone content. Would rather wait for a thoroughly written pod with deeper revelations than spend 30 minutes listening to repeated statements to fill space.
-
SVS DCNot worth your timeThere is no more information in here than you could get from a quick scan of a Wikipedia page. Also it’s narrated in an automated way like Siri is reading me said wiki page aloud. Waste of time.
-
Ms. AverageExcellentThis is my favorite podcast of the year. Such an organic storytelling endeavor considering the host’s intimate knowledge of the events per her previous employment. I love everything about it except that Mary hasn’t been apprehended yet. I have a feeling this podcast will close the walls in significantly.
-
StefncxI triedI wanted to listen to this story because I remember the Weigh Down craze. Unfortunately, this series is long on opinion and short on objective evidence. There are a lot of serious allegations, but not much in the way of substance. There’s a lot about making fun of praying for help losing weight, which I couldn’t understand why that was considered controversial. More like a harmless personal choice rather than a white collar scandal. I also can’t figure out why their church is a cult. Certainly shady, but what made it a cult? Maybe the story picked up later, but I only made it to the part where she got divorced.
-
JazmineMMPodcast Should StopI actually really enjoyed this podcast when I first came upon it, when it actually released full, detailed episodes about women in white collar crime. I guess after the stories ran out, now we get a bunch of mini series? A mini series episode is less than 15 minutes but somehow has 5 minutes of ads. I’ve just lost interest.
-
jean at homeToo many adsInteresting but too many interruptions
-
BeeGeeDee128Captivating and Soooo Interesting PodcastI love this podcast. I am also a fan of Murderish. I just finished the first case and about to start the Jen Shah one. This podcast just draws you in and keeps you wanting to listen.
-
india317Listening to a book reportI really wanted to listen to this podcast as it’s a fascinating story, but goodness it’s like listening to someone read a book report. No interviews, clips, just the narrator reading from a script every episode. No spontaneity, discussion, etc. I tried but had to quit.
-
YumaDesertRainAwesome ShowI love your show. I am addicted to it! Keep great work!
-
DocumentDivaGood story, mediocre storytellingThe story of Mary Carole McDonnell deserves to be told. In fact, she deserves an American Greed episode dedicated to her scamming ways. Unfortunately, the way the narrator tells the story is not as compelling. The narrator gives too many details and repeats things she said in previous episodes. I was hoping to hear interviews and commentary from people involved in the story. Instead, you hear from the narrator in every episode. And there are more episodes than needed. We didn't need a whole episode dedicated to all of Mary Carole's frauds. I ended up tapping out early.
-
Listen1910Less reading of scriptThe story is a good one. However the podcaster should have more interviews, clips, other people speaking. A lot of time is spent just reading the list of crimes that Mary Carol committed.
-
Rdunswo0Unbelievable story!I love Jamie and an avid Murderish listener. The only odd thing is the editing, many parts have the same lines repeating in 3 episodes I’ve listened to. The music doesn’t bother me, I think it’s good to break up the pod going into a commercial. Keep the podcasts coming, I’m loving the new one!!!
-
Jules Soet KingGreat podcast!Wow! Hope she’s caught soon ! What a narcissist! Bobby Greenlease was from kc, Missouri:) fyi
-
EHunt222Maybe Interesting- Host Doesn’t Stack UpPace is slow and basically listening to someone reading a book. I have listened to a lot of true crime pod cast and say this is a pass.
-
tgiw21Great - love the hostI listen to so many podcasts like this one - but I find that I can only continue to listen to podcasts who have hosts/narration that is easy on the ears - ie voice tone, cadence, “story telling” sophistication and clarity. I’ve had to stop so many times and move on to another podcast because it’s lacking in many of the areas I appreciate. The host is right on the mark for me. Her voice is easy to listen to and her cadence is nice. She’s also easy to follow - plus she’s funny when appropriate. I like her, I like the podcast and you will too if you look for the same things I do.
-
jkackiLove it!So glad that this podcaster has branched out to make this riveting show! The subject matter is fascinating. I love Jami (I mean I do not know her personally but love her personality in the show) and they way she presents the material and does her research. Not too much chitter chatter either which can work my nerves. Can’t wait for more!!!
-
Unica SolaJami is greatJami is awesome - sharp, funny, great voice. And the concept - and season one case- are very promising. But for me, the story isn’t quite coming together yet - too much listing of transactions, not enough insight. To be fair, that’s the show trying to be responsible - going on research and evidence rather than speculation. But it doesn’t feel very…. Satisfying. It needs more narrative and motivation. Getting perspectives from exploited employees and ripped off bank employees are definitely interesting and important aspects of the story. But I think it really needs interviews with people who were close to MCD. But I’m sure the producers have tried to get that content. In any case, I’m a fan of Jami’s shows and will def. keep listening….
-
livingfree603Great Show!I can agree with others about the music in the background but it’s not enough to make me lower the rating. This is a great story with a great narrator. No music necessary!
-
BuffyNeptuneGreat Story, 1st seasonFirst season subject is very interesting & complex. The music is HORRIBLE & annoying and the host talks about herself too much IMO.
-
Betty Draper74If you enjoy con artists podcastsThis is a good deep dive into an audacious scam. I love Jami’s voice- I agree the piano riff is distracting and annoying. Still giving it 5 stars
-
really?thatnicknameistakenGreat podcastJami does a great job. This and her other podcast Muderish are 2 of my favorites.
-
BaffldovritPerfectI’m so picky, especially for the vocal presentation. This podcast hits all the marks. The host’s delivery is an oasis in the podcast horror show of terrible diction, sloppy presentation, maddening vocal fry, and annoying vocal quirks too numerous to mention. This is the perfect balance between open authenticity and professional-sounding speech. The content is thrashed out, captivating & thorough. SO GOOD!!! Thanks for a FANTASTIC & utterly wild narrative of this unbelievable story!
-
cherrio65Good Story But….The story is interesting, but the cussing is very awkward. It seems to be thrown in the strangest places. The host would sound very intelligent if she would forgo the “added” expletives.
-
treehouse50Just One Thing…Excellent host; charming and near-perfect voice inflection. I love hearing fresh stories that have not been covered ad nauseam by other pods. My only complaint is the piano riff…please make it go away.
-
Niki SkiLove it!As a big fan of Murderish and Jamie, I was really excited to give this one a listen. And I LOVE it!! Jamie’s writing and storytelling are top notch!
-
jessieprayStellar First Episode!I am so excited for the rest of this series. Big fan of Jami & Murderish so I’m thrilled to dive deep into this case with such a fantastic host (and fascinating subject). Looking forward to more!
-
mallick88Excited to listen!A friend pointed me towards this podcast. I was a previous “employee” of one of Mary Carole’s production companies (Producer at Bellum Entertainment). I’m happy someone is putting her story out into the world. One episode in and I am already learning a lot more about this corrupt woman. Many of us are owed money, even after taking her to court and winning our settlements. We tried many times to bring light to our situations via the news and the job board of California, and we are still owed thousands of dollars we will probably never see. I’m excited to see where the podcast goes and where my (our) story fits into her schemes. Highly recommend if you’re into true crime, especially crime that happened recently.
-
Longtime LiferGreat job!Loved the first episode. Great job Jami Rice! - Woody Overton

Jordie___Interesting story! This story grabbed my attention and I’m patiently waiting for the next episode!
