jmirdamadiMy insights on BL PodcastLet me say that Dr. Correa and Dr. Peters are very knowledgable and personable in regard to various neurological conditions. I love how they are very neutral when they interview various individuals and speak to various experts on specific neurological disorders. As a fellow healthcare provider (SLP), thank you for all that you do! I hope you both keep this podcast going !

Raise qualityReviewThis used to be a high quality informative site. Katy Peters brings down the critical information to a silly simplified level, insulting and wasteful to listen to. Highly important to people dealing with brain injury but recent shows are poor quality , get speaks who have the issues, not talk about her childhood dance class.

HappystartVery informative about the BrainAfter having relatives die from MS and Dementia, I was looking for something that would teach me about the Brain and this Podcast has not only done that but has made me aware of how many people are dealing with problems with their brains. I abbreciate the helpful sources that the host and guest give on each episode.

Elevator 152Misinformation about debunked therapyEpisode 107 shares uncritical positive information about “letterboard therapy,” which is debunked pseudoscience. The letterboard therapy described in the episode is Spelling to Communicate (S2C), a form of Facilitated Communication. It is not a valid form of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), as implied in the episode. Many peer organizations, such as the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and the American Psychological Association have issued statements opposing Facilitated Communication.

KO313July 8,2024 epInaccurate info about damage to optic nerves in both eyes that may or may not bring about vision loss depending on severity and subsequent success of limited course of megadose IV steroids. Blood tests should be ordered by neuroopthalmologist to rule out NMO and MOGA+ Antibody Disease, frequently misdiagnosed demyelinating autoimmune diseases. NMO prognoses are particularly grim. Much more research is needed.

ApctravelVery good lessons in healthI have learned so much. In time it seems the program is getting better and better covering a wider range of neurological issues. I’m 87 and it is never too late to learn.

ZKanaThe best medical/science podcast I’ve heardI’m a brain tumor patient so I seek out a number of sources to learn more. This is absolutely the most accessible to the layperson that’s also firmly grounded in solid research that I’ve come across. Also not boring which is a huge plus.

NicknamethatnoonehasBig fanCame in from the newsletter, to which I migrated from the magazine, to which I migrated from the old Neurology Now magazine. I’m. Podcast addict for efficiency and enjoy learning more neuro by the episode. Good educational interviews, but I also like hearing of any book titles or anything for further depth, when possible.

Smart Guy's MomSO InformativeI’m the parent of an adult son (age 27) on the autism spectrum. He was diagnosed in 1998. Since then, I have done a LOT of reading and information gathering. We intervened early and aggressively and he has thrived. When he had a tonic clonic seizure at 19 and eventually diagnosed with epilepsy, I could not be surprised because I knew the percentages, but it made it no less traumatic. I upped my reading game because education is power. I was so thankful to discover the Brain and Life Magazine - so informative and packed with helpful information. And, NOW, to have the podcast?! Jackpot! Thank you for helping to calm this mom’s nerves.

Hangry927Excellent podcast! As someone with a neurological condition, I really appreciate this podcast. It’s wonderful to hear from people with lived experience with these conditions, as well as from medical professionals working on the cutting edge of research and care. I would appreciate more discussion of the impact of COVID on these conditions, risks for long COVID, and specific coping and risk mitigation strategies for people with underlying neurological conditions. Thanks!

E.RobbInformative and PositiveI appreciate that the hosts tackle a variety of serious conditions in an informative, compassionate, practical and uplifting way. As a brain tumor patient/survivor, there was a time when I felt truly overwhelmed and anxious about my course of treatment and what the future held for me. I enjoy and appreciate learning about the wide variety of neurological conditions out there. The show strikes the perfect balance, with clinical experts and patients sharing their experiences.

Taina1227Very valuable informationThis firsthand accounts of the experiences lived by the participants has helped me understand better how our brain and nerves affect our lives. One suggestion cauliflower’s tortilla company should become a sponsor. Once George lopes mentioned I bought it- love it which has let me to recommended to others
