Since the inception of this podcast, BTC has exploded in both value and global adoption. Every one of the host’s predictions has been wrong and might explain the lack of content on here as well as his corresponding Toutube channel. He is a “far leftist” self proclaimed “anarchist” and is the absolutel worst source for information regarding crypto, the economy or anything else outside of 90’d punk rock and goth clothing.

Could the male stop using “Like” all the time. Also his awful laugh. Would enjoy so so much more. Otherwise I LOVE THIS PODCAST 🫶🏼

Much in the modern tech world is worthy of the kind of crafty roasting that Matt Binder delivers. I wish the episodes were more frequent, but they are brilliant, funny, and informative.

I really enjoy this podcast because both the host and the guests are knowledgeable and I learn new things every time.

I follow and listen to the majority report nearly every day. It is fun to listen to Emma and Brad have a place to talk about sports. I find it hard to find people that are passionate about progressive politics, while also enjoying sports, so to and have a podcast to listen to both is awesome.

Excellent podcast. Very good at clearly explaining how crypto (including bitcoin, DeFi, “web3,” NFTs, and the like) functions, and why those functions cannot be separated from the fraud, scamming, and sheer stupidity that have come to define this part of the zeitgeist. Highly recommend you subscribe and give it a listen. Matt Binder is a quality podcast host, and an excellent journalist.

The idiot host is unlistenable….

Really wanted to listen to a certain guest, but this host made it almost unbearable to get through. Guest was great though, fwiw. Replace the host and the premise is fine, other than lumping bitcoin in with altcoins and nft’s which is just lazy since they are completely unrelated.

Love the show but I feel dumber after listening to Yasmin and Connie twist themselves into “like” dumbed down pretzels “like”, “giggle giggle giggle” to excuse NFT lies, grift and theft.

We know it's a scam but here's a podcast for the facts. Fact: Pump and Dump scams are a permanent part of American life. "Get rich quick" is a phrase you heard all your life; maybe your young and believed it. I saw junk bonds. Dot com 90s; mortgage securities 2000s, speculative property in Florida every few years. So now it's NFTs and Crypto. Hype is a currency; people do get rich by getting you to believe hype. I also recommend "Big short" Micheal Lewis and other book "panic" . Basically this is a pattern and it's fascinating how the same logic repeats.

Matt should get some kind of public service award for the work he’s doing talking about the many crypto currency scams and helping people avoid them.

Cannot believe cryptocurrency has been around this long, with as many scams as it has produced, and there are very few investigative journalists exposing it. This podcast is not that (exactly), but he does seek to explain it with a lean towards exposing the ridiculous scam that it is. Thank you!!!

Love the show, Matt! My one critique is that I think you should have more true believers on, especially in the post-show. It would be good to hear arguments from both sides, and fun to hear you dismantle their arguments. Like when a libertarian calls into MR to debate Sam. The same type of calls over and over again from people who agree with you get stale. Still, I learn a lot from your show and you have great guests. Keep up the good work!

Lots of great information if you want to learn about all things crypto from someone how is not trying to sell it to you. He goes in-depth with experts and also just normal people to help the listener understand what they are really putting their money into. Keep up the great work Matt!

I love this show! Matt always makes sure the content is accessible and understandable, even to a person who’s never listened to the show or knows anything about crypto. I appreciate that almost every time a jargony term comes up (NFTs, ICO, blockchain, etc) he defines it for listeners who have never listened or need a refresher. Most of all, I love the paid call-in portion of the show. Matt isn’t afraid to talk to anyone about his disdain for the crypto scam economy and I learn even more from hearing his casual conversations with callers. Does literally any other show about crypto have a call-in portion where the host’s knowledge or opinions can be tested in real time like that? I could go on, but if you’re interested in crypto at all, whether or not you think you “understand” it, check out this amazing show by the gifted and bright Matt Binder.

There is not enough podcasts with his view on crypto. I found Matt from MR and glad to see someone diving deep on the problems with crypto. Very informative and willing to talk to anyone during his live YouTube after show.

Matt is really entertaining and informative. He has awesome guests on who are experts in different areas of cryptocurrency and other internet scams.

I found this podcast through being a Majority Report fan. It is a great realistic perspective of everything block chain. Anyone interested in content about crypto and some of the problematic elements of the crypto world, this is absolutely worth listening to. Matt Binder is a great host. He takes the listener down the rabbit hole with him where you will learn together about this very strange future we all live in.

So glad to find this podcast, it is informative, clear, and enjoyable. Can’t wait to listen to all episodes. Cuts through all the hype crap surrounding crypto hype.

I am a huge Matt Binder fan and mostly listen to Doomed but am loving the deep dive into the crypto spaces. Just learning the lingo has been helpful. I can tell it’s a passion project making it even more enjoyable listening.

A very informative podcast with great interviews and insights into the crypto economy. Also just entertaining and amusing in general. I was crypto curious, but Scam Economy has given me the grounded knowledge I needed to avoid the crypto altogether. Can’t wait for more pod drops!

In general: I love Matt's style and presentation - he's down to earth and makes issues relatable while still coming off as a professional who, while having his own views, is respectful and open. On Scam Economy specifically, the interviews and commentary have been really fascinating and cover a range of topics in the space of crypto and NFTs. For someone with a decent level of general tech knowledge, it never comes off as "talking down" or "oversimplifying" but at the same time information is almost always presented in a way that someone with considerably less (or even really no) background knowledge can still follow along with. 5/5, definitely recommend to anyone who has even just a passing curiosity about the topics.

Matt Binder has had a great series of shows that does the perfect balance of bringing on guests from a variety of backgrounds to breakdown various aspects of the crypto world to show what’s behind all the hype, while also allowing for people to call in to explain both the benefits that they see in it as well as the many pitfalls and scams that seem endemic to the industry. From dating, to Neopets, to fake landowners, Scam Economy covers it all.

Matt Binder is great. He has a lineage that dates back to his time on Majority Report. Scam Economy really plays to his strengths that date back to observing Gamergate was a really big deal much earlier than anyone else recognized. Scam Economy builds upon that legacy. This show is the first and last stop for anyone interested in learning about blockchain and it’s impact on our society. As the late great Michael Brooks would say, this show is quality.

This is a very good show that’s much needed through a leftist lens of being anti crypto/bitcoin/nft. There’s so many pro crypto shows out there this is a much needed show to counter balance that perspective. Keep up the good work Matt and go check out his show Doomed as well!

I love the show. I am a Doomed listener and enjoy this show as well. Anyone considering buying bitcoin should listen to the show prior to making a purchase.

It should make you wonder if all you ever hear about something is roses and lollipops, as is mostly the case with crypto, NFT, etc. you should want to know who is saying something else, while still remaining fair to the roses and lollipops crowd. If so, this is what you need to hear.

Episode 1 & 2 are absolute forces. The retelling of this derivative, value-less industry built off of a suspect ideology, cut & pasted from hodge podge incendiary thoughts & scams of old reminds me a LOT of QAnon in the last decade. Shadow founder, extremist starting point, money to be made - amazing case for why we’re all living in the upside-down of financial economic theory & losing our loved ones (and their money) to a cult-like “financial” instrument and its fanboys. QAnon comparos aside, the interviewees are credible and the host takes great care to not deny the “savvy” their right to make some money on a good old fashion asset bubble orgy.

Been waiting and searching for a podcast exactly like this! So happy, recommending to all my friends/family
