will0wisp1Something to be excited aboutI’ve been in a slump where there’s nothing I want to read/listen to, and very little I want to do. My first dungeon’s Wildsea play through has been the highlight of my month, and given me something to be excited about.

RobiticusEncouragingThis is absolutely giving me the confidence I need to try my hand at DMing. My wife recently ventured to DM for her first time and I think I’m ready to follow suit.

Nikki_M_518Captivated by this Podcast!I just finished listening to the 10 Candles season and I was absolutely CAPTIVATED. This game is so unique and the small details that the creator incorporates into the rules really creates a spooky/ thriller vibe. I loved hearing how the characters created their stories and played off of each others experiences. The end of the game had me on the edge of my seat and the imagery was even more powerful than watching a movie. Great listen, can’t watch to hear more!

UrizenxviiMy go-to recommendation for APs nowHonestly, My First Dungeon is doing for me now what One Shot did for me in 2013--revitalizing my love of interesting TTRPGs. In an ocean of overproduced D&D podcasts, the cast and crew of MFD _actually play games_ and show how to be good players and good gamemasters. In terms of the actual games--they explain mechanics without being too wordy, they openly discuss safety tools, they showcase interesting settings and systems, and they work as a team to tell a good story. Oh, and the stories they tell are AMAZING. Between the creativity of the cast, expert editing, and their on-call musician, they somehow make arc after arc of deeply compelling narratives without losing sight of their mission of teaching us to be active and collaborative participants at the table. Do yourself a favor and subscribe.

IzzumumuNew FavoriteI’m sure this is a common thing with this show, but I started listening based on the most recent TTRPG the crew started playing, The Wildsea RPG. I’ve followed the game since early in its Kickstarter, and when the creator Felix Isaacs mentioned the podcast I knew I had to give it a listen… And BOY was I blown away. I have fallen in love with the people playing, their characters, the humor, the editing, everything. An immediate recommendation to all my friends who have even the slightest interest in actual-play podcasts.

superdillinWhat actual play can beThe high level of effort and care put into this show is so obvious. The sound design and professionalism from the casts really showcases the games while also telling such a polished and entertaining story. I came for the Orbital Blues series but have fallen in love with all the rest.

23 Dogs in a TrenchcoatA fun, digestible, and polished Actual Play Podcast! This podcast is incredibly well done, with immersive sound design, epic music, and engaging storytelling. The GM and players are all extremely talented storytellers and improvisers. After listening to the Project ECCO episodes, the Orbital Blues season, and now the new 9 Lives to Valhalla season, this is quickly becoming on of my favorite actual play podcasts!

Gaurav VaidyaListen to new DMs tackle new role-playing gamesIn this podcast, new DMs lead players through a variety of role-playing games, including playtests of some brand new games still being designed. Extensive briefing and debriefing sessions mean that this podcast really gets into the DMs heads and gives you a perspective on both what it’s like to lead one of these games and how you could do that better in the future. And of course every season is a brand new world to explore with a new crew, a new DM and a new game! Lots of fun.

Mariko F.Great time for new folks and seasoned players alike! My First Dungeon does an amazing job of highlighting fun new games enjoyable for folks new to TTRPG and folks who have played for a while. The cast and crew beautifully showcase the silliness and depths that each game can reach. Highly recommend.

ChrisWolfe82Need more of thisBrian and company do such a great job of showcasing what tabletop games should be about: exploration, imagination, storytelling and friendship. I had been looking for a podcast about a game I was hoping to get to the table and discovered My First Dungeon along the way. So happy I did—it’s perfect for a commute or winding down for the day.
