I knew deep down that it felt like bullying. This episode confirmed those feelings and reassured me that I am on the right track to exiting this situation. This podcast gave words to a lot of things I’ve experienced, felt, and even thought during my time in corporate! I remember when I started I thought I was just crazy, but as time has gone on I’ve learned a lot about how to navigate as a black woman in the workplace. If you are looking for inspiration and practical tips, this is the podcast for you!

This is one of the podcasts I really love to listen to each week, and I just have to say that today’s episode about “rusting out,” along with the perspective that the hosts are sharing is giving me LIFE. More specifically it is giving me the gift of new spot-on language and frames, which is the greatest gift of all for me. Oh. My. Goodness. Thank you for this.

I recently discovered this podcast and I’ve already listened to SOOO many episodes. It’s authentic and so many of these experiences have lived in our daily lives but have not been talked about, unpacked, let alone broadcasted. I appreciate this podcast so much!!

I LOVE this Podcast! It has helped me realize and acknowledge my self worth and caused me to be empowered to write and speak my own narrative!! I was recently told that my position required that relocate back to our company’s headquarters. I refused and am leaving the company after ~18yrs!

The advice was excellent but overshadowed by Miya’s constant praise and expressions of gratitude to Dee. As a brown girl in leadership I always told my staff that I don’t respect that. Show me by showing integrity and if you make a mistake, I’ll help you. I’m going to try another episode though.

I get my Life with this Brown Girl Table Talk. Seriously. I pop on my headphones and walk to work with all this goodness in my ears. They shed the light, they unpack the myths, They really spill all of the Tea. As a black woman i literally feel like i’m at the table. Verbal responses and all lol. Dee and Mita are having those conversations publicly that so many WOC are having privately in isolated and isolating settings. Really appreciate that this podcast is shedding the necessary light on critical issues for WOC.

This podcast is amazing. These ladies are talking about topics that impact women of color everyday, but they don’t stop there. They offer solutions and ways to handle these uncomfortable situations in a professional way while still calling out racism. Thank you for this podcast as a young Black women entering the business world this is much needed. I have learned so much and y’all have validated a lot of my experiments by sharing yours.

Great call to action here on getting people of color confused with one another. As a white woman, I venture to say my reasons for getting people of color confused occasionally is 1 . Under exposure and not enough friends in that sub group ( for instance, Phillipino women) So I am unconsciously generalizing, not observing deeply. 2. Fear of stepping on toes, so I don’t ask questions I normally might, such as “ What got you interested in working here? Love that suit. Who’s the designer? What do you like to do for fun? Etc. 3. In a picture that contains only redheads, I can only see a bunch of people that look alike. I’m pretty sure it must be like that for brown folk regarding us…occasionally…so how about we work just as hard at individuating and including as they have to?

I never write reviews for podcasts but this one is so exceptional I feel compelled to do so. Every episode resonates with me and each is so applicable and relatable. I love the way the show is structured, love their chemistry, appreciate their chosen topics and content. Excellent podcast for both WOC and allies, alike. Highly recommend!

Different perspectives make us grow and enhance our empathy skills. The hosts have significant experience and so much to share! The way the conversation flows and how they speak about everything makes it a must-listen and delightful moment for reflection!

a place to “spill the tea” - with personal stories and practical take-away tips summed up at the end of the episode. I loved “I clench the pearls.” Keep ‘em coming, and the 20 minute length is just right for average attention span.

I am a new listener, and I have two teenage daughters who are listening in too! When we are listening and you describe a scenario that I experienced it makes me cringe. Even though it is not easy to be vulnerable in front of my kids, we pause the podcast and discuss it. As a mom of brown girls, I don’t want them to make all the mistakes I made.
