    Woof woof, Dogs!
OGA is a fun tour through the annals of gaming in the past 50ish years! Hunter and Matt do a wonderful job of highlighting forgotten gems of gaming in passionate and insightful ways. They don’t take themselves or their opinions too seriously, but rather try to keep the atmosphere fun and informative! I love their guests! EJ and Sun being the most often reoccurring guests, but they’re all great, and do a great job of preventing things from becoming stale. Matt and Hunter also come up with fun topics and varied episode formats that accomplish the same goal. They always seem to be asking themselves “How can we highlight important games in a fun, interesting, and new way for the listener?” They’ve introduced me to so many amazing games I’d never played before (*cough* Celeste 🐐 *cough*) and I’m so grateful for that. It’s really fun to play along! Another nice thing is that you can start pretty much anywhere in the podcast’s backlog of episodes. I recommend finding an episode about one of your favorite games and hitting “Play”! Don’t worry, even when they don’t like a game, they’re still respectful of the work that went into it and the kids whose childhood the game may have been a part of. Thanks so much guys! Keep up the good work!

Not sure the hosts like the show
I wish I could recommend this show. I like these guys, I’ve listened to one of their other podcasts SCPT for a long time, but you really get the sense that they actively dislike the format of their own show. They have either abandoned or openly disdain of their own self-imposed gimmicks, such as keeping a ranked list of the games they cover, or sticking to releases from a specific time period. Playing the games in advance of making an episode is treated as a chore, particularly for Matt. I think this has now reached a crescendo in the most recent episode on Mortal Kombat 2, wherein the guys stated that they didn’t like the game and thus didn’t even play it. Ok, then maybe don’t cover it? The final nail in the coffin for me is the language. I get that it is a show targeted towards adults, but any podcast that I can’t have on in my car when my kids are around is likely to drop from my following list. It’s a shame, because I have found my kids really like some of the old games from my childhood, and they would probably get interested in playing some of these classic games after hearing about them from people who played them when they were new. Best of luck to them in their other shows, but I’m unfollowing this one.

    Lost it’s way
It used to be good. However, having a list that they actively hate really takes away from the show. Removing XCOM to make room for Wildermyth was the final straw for me. Should I care – probably not. However, that was painful to listen to. If the podcasters dislike the show, then it makes it really hard for me to like the show.

Good podcast but insulted one of my favorite games
The podcast is decent BUT HALO 3 IS ONE OF THE BEST GAMES TO EXIST anyway I have played Halo 3 and finished it more times than I can count on my fingers and toes together Halo 3 was definitely one of the best games that Microsoft (helped) make/made. Anyway it’s a good podcast overall.

    Doing the impossible
More like Imps, possible. As in, two impish lil guys showing us what’s possible when you play a ton of games with your childhood friends. Lots! Also, sometimes, Tim Schaffer stops by to bless us all, every one. Who saw that coming? Much like hide and seek at John Cena’s house, you will be caught off guard by the warmth, gentility, and unbelievable physiques at play here. 8/10 would hide again.

    NBA on TNT
On the NBA on TNT pregame show, Ernie Johnson plays a pivotal role as host, where he allows Shaq, Chuck, and Kenny the freedom to be lovable idiots who go off on random tangents, while also knowing when to rein them in to get back onto the topic at hand. EJ fills the same crucial role when he guest hosts on this show. Is EJ short for TNT’s Ernie Johnson? Maybe. I give this podcast five stars, but only for the episodes with EJ.

Hyper Light Drifter is my second favorite game of all time.
I’m not that far in but this is great, I just hope they do hyperlight drifter justice 🙏, it’s my second favorite game of all time.

    Hyper Light Rating
Halo 3 is too high and I love that they know it. This show has genuinely improved my Tuesdays. The range of genres and eras covered with love (or at least, openness) by Matt and Hunter makes the ranking so much harder and the show so much more of a delight. Keep it up, gents.

A must listen for anyone interested in video games
Matt and Hunter give insightful and hilarious commentary that makes me think about these video games in ways I didn’t before. 10/10 will listen each week

Fantastic hosts to a fantastic podcast
These guys are hilarious. If you love movies, popcorn, and the theater going experience these guys are who you’ve been looking for… Killin’ it ! EDIT: if you only listen to one episode of this show, make it the 2021 year end special. It’s by far the best one, (especially compared to other episodes with Matt in them).

    #1 Video Game Podcast
So far, this is the only video game podcast I've ranked in my comprehensive ranking system of all video game podcasts, but I'm pretty confident that it's at the number 1 spot out of my current sample size. Out of the first 15 episodes, I have bought 2 games because of this show, and one of them wasn't even covered yet. (Celeste and Hades, for reference.)

    Ugh
I’m irritated with how much I love this new podcast. Matt and hunter already had 2 hours of my week, and somehow the flavor of this is way more appetizing than I could have possibly imagined. -visorjon
