    Ezra Klein Interview
This was a wonderful interview, and my first thought was how to get Dems in Congress to hear it. Jon Stewart they’d read your emails sooner than mine.

    Brilliant and mind blowing
The show is always informative and entertaining. The discussion with Ezra Klein regarding his new book Abundance was brilliant. The deep dive into the bureaucracy holding the US back from reaching our goals was mind blowing!

    Bandaids
Listening to democrats’ process for bringing a well intentioned plan for broadband to life reminds me of every single non-profit grant making process I’ve ever been a part of. Thanks for this interesting perspective. Liberals. We’re not quite nailing it. Yet.

    Limited Guests
Try to get anyone from the administration or people like Andresson. I want to see the “small” tech big tech guys interviewed or this is all the same song and dance from the last 12 years. New blood, challenging guests.

I’m with you, Jon: just love being home. I’m an introvert living in an extrovert world (Great interviews on this podcast & ❤️seeing you on Monday nights)

    Don’t trust the guests
It’s good, but just be aware he can sane-wash some real nightmare ideologues.

    Maria Ressa is a treasure
What a brilliant, wise, courageous, and joyful warrior. I, too, was encouraged and uplifted after your discussion with her even though you were talking about some pretty heavy stuff. Her energy and enthusiasm is infectious.

    Clearing the Fog
I am so grateful to Jon and his staff for bringing clarity in this time of heavy fog in our country where it is hard to see the truth or sanity! I feel drawn to hearing Jon and his guests! Thank you!

    Informative and thought-provoking
I really appreciate the different perspectives Jon brings on the show and the depth of the interviews, as well as welcome critiques of the Democratic Party. I consider myself educated but not super informed about world history or politics, and the episode with Maria Ressa was fantastic. One note - can you please define more uncommon terms that you use on the show? The word “illiberal” was said maybe 30 times on the last episode without explanation. Similar to the “analog democracy in a digital world” phrase, I think Jon sometimes has a tendency to make characterizations without explaining them, and I’m not sure if the average American gets what he’s saying? Or maybe I’m just not an astute listener

    Great episode with Maria R.
Love this podcast! Maria Ressa’s episode was great. Hearing her perspective made me feel like we can survive the next 4 yrs.

    Get Gary Stevenson
Get Gary Stevenson! Either as an individual guest or to debate Jason Furman (from the Sept 19, 2024 episode) regarding Economics. He’s out there discussing inequality, an element of the economy that is not even included in the modeling and math taught in Economics studies. He’s made millions linking that missing element to his predictions in the market.

Jon Stewart is really impressive always to get perspective from.

    Maria Ressa!
I’ve always loved this pod. The ep with Maria Ressa made me love it even more. HOW do we make this pod become a brain worm in all of us?! Her ability to connect the dots with facts and history is incredible. This ep is so important.

Don’t write off the Daily show if you are on the right
Thank you so much Jon for really stepping it up after the election. I appreciate all your critiques of the Democratic Party, and what they need to do if they want to win another election. Your most recent episode with Maria Ressa, the Nobel prize winner who had a strong message about how the US is headed towards a dictatorship like in the Philippines, was very eye-opening. You’ve taken a strong approach towards getting depth and perspective from different voices into the mix. The first episode you did after Trump was elected was really helpful in putting this moment in perspective. Maybe you could do an episode on some of the psychology of the moment? How do we change peoples minds in the moment that we’re in? How do we tackle the problem of social media? Are there people working on these solutions? I know these are difficult questions and you’re doing a lot to answer them. I like what Maria Ressa said, make it Funny!

Please get Chris Murphy on, thank you :)

    Just a thought about segregation
But don’t we still have segregation honestly, like funding for schools go by the district or the county. Private schools there’s funding for that. It’s not shared with public schools. So basically you have wealthy neighborhoods, wealthy communities counties they get their funding versus the inner city funding. So don’t we still have segregation? Yes, we do. The Jon Stewart I love your show. I love to hear you express your thoughts ideas get us thinking you provoke us to ask questions, use our brain, consider others, consider the whole big picture. And sometimes I just laughed so hard when I’m watching your show at night in my face hurts thank you so much.

    Interesting
I’m not big into politics or specific parties, but with the status of everything at the moment this podcast is an interesting place to hear intelligent conversation about it all.
  • chloes mm
    Sorry Jon
I listen to your podcast weekly and really enjoy your style of interviewing. I watch you every Monday and enjoy your comedy and your way of making a point. BUT this weeks episode about liberalism went good for me until you reached your Elon Musk portion of the interview. Do I believe in reorganizing the government? YES! But not the way it’s being done. Hearing ANYONE defend Musk at this point is a big turnoff for me, I admit to not finishing the episode because it was going off the rails for me.

    Run for Office
Please run for office. We need your eloquence, humility, and empathy.

    Stewart is curious
Serious show but still funny, at times. Stewart is an intellectual and ‘man of the people.’ Has become one of the few podcasts I can still listen to after Trump’s return to office bc it provides more than mere outrage and handwringing.

    Disappointing
I just listened His discussion with Psaki. I was quite surprised at the emptiness of Jon’s thinking. I really had high expectations, but to hear Jon talk about what the difference in principles are between the republican and democratic parties was mind boggling. He seems to yearn for the dictatorial approach while the majority of sane folks see the dangers with that. The voters were voting for who they thought was going to help their daily lives ( the ones who didn’t vote for the Dems this time). If they get what they want from the current government, they will continue voting for them. If they don’t, they will either not vote or vote Dems the next time. It is a simple as that. They don’t really care about this efficiency stuff. Psaki was much more thoughtful and willing to consider other thoughts. Jon was truly disappointing

    What a gem
Jon is the best at asking questions most people don’t even think about. Love the comedic side, too,
  • Marquis de Texas
    Question & Recommendation
Mr. Stewart, with state and local politics being so critical why don’t you interview state and local politicians who stand out? You always have nationally recognized leaders. I recommend Texas Representative James Talarico
  • AustinBuff27
    Disappointed
Really not much here other than a continued dose of TDS. You could get the same information on MSNBC. Hearing Psaki talk about how biased the right wing media is and how the left wing calls “balls and strikes” made me spit my coffee out and fall on the floor laughing. Jon Stewart the comedian is back.
  • ChuckD833
I worked out what Dems need to do…call me Jon
Great podcast. Thank god for the swearing. Intelligent interviewer; would like harder hitting questions to the dems. On a separate note, Jon, I’ve solved the dems problems. I know what to do. We have the Republicans right where we need them….
  • Mrsteevee
    Meh
I wish Jon had more centrist views. I am tired of the polarization. It’s exhausting
  • cmdm
    NOPE NO NEVER
remember when jon went away? DO THAT AGAIN!

Jon Stewart NEEDS to run for President!!!
I switched to Independent / 3rd party. Dems and America needs Jon Stewart as president
  • Lilly101669
    Needs Opposing Views
Love Jon, but he needs to to have guests from both sides of the political spectrum. Simply having Dems on to whine is boring. Needs to represent both voices of America.
  • lisalfarin
Outreach means CONNECTING unified values D’s Fight to Produce for Americans.
Connecting to the day to day struggles/fears would visually show voters of swing states with simple accomplishments. In states like PA where there are over 18,000 billboards across the state, if they had pictures of local workers standing in front of the road or bridge the Infrastructure bill invested in. People needed to see how the Dems had improved each part of their daily life to make it safer and easier to complete their hard/long days. Ie., their bridge will not fall down and your neighbor had a great job fixing our state’s services.
  • kat.houston
    Thank you!
Informative and fun. Thank you for trying to fight back the dark. 🙏🏻 We MUST end Citizens United. Please keep talking about it! It is how we got where we are now.
  • Truly66
Until good Dems get mad at bad Dems we’re screwed.
So much for speaking truth to power! Im sooooo tired of listening to discourse of how bad Trump is. Psaki was part of the problem with n the summer of 2024, she won’t or more likely can’t see how bad Dems are at this, and how good Trump is. Jon, please get mad and call out these softies or we’re all dead. ☹️
  • Graaavy
    Jon is awesome, but…
Please don’t forget that democrats and the progressive left were not in unilateral control of the federal government since the 80s. Yes, the party has “stale vibes” today, but it’s also the party that has had to either compromise or take losses from the right on the very key issues you speak about today. Drug prices being high isn’t b/c democrats allowed it to happen, it’s b/c the pharmaceutical lobby persuaded lawmakers to vote poorly!!
  • AndresBaja
    Nice, but
could use some new framing. Can’t count how many times we’ve heard “analog in a digital world” or the term “efficacy.”
  • pnagar
Thank you for exposing Hakeem Jeffries
Hakeem Jeffries has the personality of a radish. Jeez, he has no plan to tackle Republicans, no charm, so so bland. On another note, Jon, please go to Joe Rogan again.
  • Leff1980
You need to get Sen. Nina Turner on.
She needs to be the next voice of the Democratic Party.
  • Hotteddog
    Incredible
Thank you, Jon, for your continually refreshing and insightful take on events and the current political climate!
  • Bizarro Crazy
    Jen Psaki
Again: RWMedia! It’s the RW media! Yes, they have the machine, or as Hillary said “the vast RW conspiracy.” It’s a larger part of the long game you mentioned to overturn Roe vs Wade. The only way the Republicans could get there, to appoint their SCOTUS judges, and hypocritically deny the Dems, is because of RWM. And the RWM did this: used the stupidity/simplicity/ frustrations/anger/jadedness/etc of the American voters to the advantage of themselves (the wealthy RWM masters). While SO many people on the Left think/act like the American voters are smart, the Right thinks the sad truth, but says the opposite, while saying the liberals think they’re stupid. And of course, many liberals on social media are now happy to acknowledge that fact to their (avatars’) faces, proving that point no matter how often Democratic representatives praise the people. I don’t think THEY are so much the problem. The answer is to turn up the volume and the simplicity in the media that supports them, because they are the only legitimate party of any size. WE NEED LOUDER VOICES: time to get rich by attacking the rich.
  • MamaDiez
    Hakeem Jeffries
Thank you Leader Jeffries! I would love an answer to Jon’s question; do we (Democrats, left leaning) have think tanks like the right does? Do we have our “Heritage Foundation”? Do we have people, smart people, working on our kind of Project 2029 where we have concrete plans of how to course correct to save and safeguard our democracy?
  • moby2023
    Knicks all day
Hakeem Jeffries - please bring him back!! He’s the voice of the American people right now, thanks for having him on!

    Jon For President
Where is the voice of the Democrats? It’s Jon Stewart and it has been for a long time. You and Colbert saddle up, the time is NOW!
  • kt.d11
    Jon is a national treasure
In a world full of self-absorbed MAGA supremacists, be a Jon. The man retired and opened an animal sanctuary. And this podcast shows exactly his personality: hilarious while trying to make a positive impact on the world. He truly makes me hopeful for mankind.

    Disappointed
Was a huge fan from the old Daily Show days. Got rid of my TV about 14 years ago, follow quite a few good podcasts, this one will not be among them unfortunately.
  • JMJWD
    Hakeem Jeffries interview
Jon Stewart is a great interviewer. If there was a glimmer of hope about the existence of a credible plan from Democratic leadership( beyond “better messaging”) that HJ could explain, I did not hear it. Good news, John — great interview. Bad news, John — Democrats are not up to the challenge.
  • pissedthisweek
    Chris Christie
This conversation proved that Jon Stewart would make a much better president than Christie ever would. Ugh. 5 stars for Jon, 3 or less for the guy talking out of both sides of his mouth.
  • boniejo
    Jon Stewart / AOC 2028
    Presidential Ticket!! Let’s do it!
  • 1GrumpyGal
    Chris Christie
Appreciated your conversation. Glad to hear an interview where both parties are actively listening w/o interruption and actually seem to think about the responses. Even when you called him out about his support of Trump, respect that he answered and didn’t stop the interview and run away.
  • KamiCujo
    Grateful
I beyond grateful to have Jon back. He’s been needed for my sanity! Bill Maher is great but Jon Stewart is my absolute favorite. People with the negative views about him….there’s enough negativity in the real world and the insults are unnecessary.
