BillBlaster1Doug is Back, I like this PodcastDoug Ellin gives us an idea of what it’s like in show biz to write a script, develop a screenplay and direct. He tells us the ins-and-outs of the show he is working on, plus past shows he has created. I enjoy it and I enjoy his viewpoint on life. He is genuine and I enjoy listening.

Brownie jrGreat ShowDoug keep killing it! I appreciate how honest and upfront Doug is with the fans. Thanks!

jlm11579Sorry DougI enjoyed Entourage and the follow-up Victory podcast. But in this latest venture, Doug frequently vents his underlying bitterness towards an industry that paid him handsomely, despite all its troubles. He is, at times, the Doug we enjoyed listening to. But, too often, he reverts back a number of recurring negative topics that amount to a lot of self-centered complaining. As you keep suggesting, maybe it is time to pack it in. That said, thank you for Entourage and Victory. Both provided hours of great entertainment. I wish you all the best.

Jay Lewis 562Doug is a betaDoug constantly brings up the fact that he has fire arms and “attack dogs”. That is the most Beta ish ever. Not one man is following his lead when Doug is obviously a scared little white guy.

RonnieGMiamjWeekly Hug it OutDoug’s podcast is the perfectly calibrated mix of neurotic energy, bts insight into the entertainment world with the proper amount of a smear on an everything bagel. Highly recommend tuning in once a week. Really like having Scott prepare some research for each episode and participating in recent podcasts.

Jay from AustinSmart insightWith the way that the last two podcasts went, I came in a bit hesitant on Doug’s new podcast. But, after the first episode it quickly reminded me why he is one of my favorite writers. I love the insight into his backstory and how it connects to his writer’s approach. Doug has found the right balance between Hollywood life, and history in the game, without the polarizing topics. Love the show, and he’s still the reason I got into writing.

@Los2911Glad to have rediscoveredThank you Doug for coming back to do a pod. I know I’m a little late to this and I’m catching up on episodes, but I always enjoyed your commentary on all things.

Mike T LA RockVery real! A great listen! This podcast was suggested to me by Apple and it turns out that it’s been an awesome listening experience. Doug is brutally honest and his podcast is great. There’s lots of insight into the entertainment industry, and along with it there’s advice and his take on many things, like being a professional at what you do. It feels very real and sincere and I think listeners can get a lot out of it, even if you aren’t working in Hollywood. He’s smart and funny and also get very angry but in a way where he’s expressing his frustration so it seems genuine. Some of the anecdotes like his Eddie Murphy story or Chevy Ghase story are so hilarious. Even listening to him rant about politics is worth it — and actually quite funny too because he always says he shouldn’t talk about politics — but does anyway 😂

Sorry I couldn't help myselfPoor guy is losing itJust listened to episode 17. Wow he’s in such a great mood. Definitely what you want to hear after a long day at work haha jesus is this dude miserable. Prayers sent for Sara Sanderson who is stranded in the desert with this lunatic. Boy did she made a good decision.

Jumping maddnessLove itI listen to the podcast in my car. I really enjoy Doug’s rants. He is opinionated, but I respect that he stands firm and is not wishy-washy. I don’t always agree with him. For example, there are some movies that I like that he thought were horrible. Doug, if you were running out of topics, maybe you could discuss how you met your wife, etc. I know you have explained how you got into the business but you don’t talk much about your personal life. Maybe your wife doesn’t want you to or you think it could be a security concern. keep making the podcast and I’ll keep listening. Thanks!

gsr852If you want to listen to a grown man cry…Doug Ellin was the creator and writer of an incredible television series, Entourage. That was then, this is now. This podcast is short enough to be clocked with an egg timer, and yet he finds the time in every episode to complain about anything and everything, with one exception. He shot a pilot a couple of years back, that has not been picked up. It’s incredible television, and if you don’t believe me he’ll tell you over and over again. The only problem is everyone is against him, and there is something wrong with the Hollywood system, or this masterpiece would be in production. Again, don’t take my word for it, Doug will tell you. He constantly says it’s not a big deal if he never works again, because he is financially secure, and he has things to keep him busy. I believe that to be true so I have to ask, can’t Doug figure out something to do with the 15 minutes per week he uses to record this podcast? Thank you so much for the gift of Entourage, but if anyone listens to this podcast, you’ll find it’s a gift you want to return.

The Real Johnny GPodcast is great!Doug/Entourage is the reason I subscribed to HBO almost 20 years ago. I love hearing the BTS stories of how things happened. Don’t listen to the haters. Doug you are great!
-
erickolsonI needed this podcast!I loved the Victory Podcast it helped me get through Covid, but I think Doug solo is a even better podcast, I even love his political rants, I hope Doug keeps the format solo.

LiddyuhDoug is a genius. He’s so smart and such a great writer. I mean he made one of my favorite shows of all time. Me and my husband LOVE it. I enjoy Doug’s point of view on current events.
-
Mikeey427Podcast conceptI like the banter you bring with viewers. When you talk about other shows I tend to go and watch afterwards. You should talk/review shows and answer questions from viewers about their thoughts and getting an inside scoop from your mind.

JohnnyDrama004Doug’s the man!First and foremost keep it going. I’ve been a fan/listener since day 1. I want to thank you for you. You have made my life better. Keep going sir!

BHILLGoHammerMr. Doug EllinFirst off you’ve created my favorite show of all time and I’m not just fluffing you. I’ve seen every episode many, many, times. And A: I’m just wondering how do you financially manage to live the life you do in Bev Hills without working, because I’m jealous. And 3: Just watched the movie over again, and I can’t ignore the fact that you used Sonny Marinelli as the cheated boyfriend, but also as the restaurant chef for Don Pepe’s In season 8.. What inspired you to do that? Just curious about the creative negotiation.. Either way, you’re goated in my opinion..

jerrymeridaJerry MBeen listening from the beginning Doug, love the insight and passion. Especially behind the scene stories of Entourage. One of my favorite shows ever. Please continue to provide us with your thoughts and memories on creating such a beloved and Iconic show. Also if i may ask.. I always wondered if there was a reason Vince never referred to his brother Johnny as “drama” like everyone else. Just curious. Cheers!

TudbeidbInside baseball with OG ShowrunnerI’ve appreciated Doug’s insights and stories back to the original days of Victoery the Podcast. I’ve sold a few shows of my own and always appreciate the insights of those who have gone before and been successful.

FjhdfhjjSo glad you’re back!Count me as one of the people who enjoys listening to your podcasts in whatever form they take, whether Victory, or Wayz, or Ramble, or…Something I Am Interested In. That said, if you don’t accept my instagram message invite (where I was just trying to say I love the show), I might change this to a 1-Star Review and start whining about how much you talk about pickleball and grievances. But of course those would be lies because I love pickleball and I sometimes think you should have a Festivus segment of the podcast where you air all your grievances. Would be funny to go ahead and make it a fixture, so even when you don’t have one you have to come up with one, no matter how petty. Anyway, I am patiently waiting for Ramble On. I’m one of the many that would contribute to a crowdsourcing effort. And for whatever reason I enjoy hearing your ramblings on any number of topics. So please keep it up. And thanks for all the great content you’ve put out into the world!
-
LovscottKeep this pod going. So interesting…wish it was done 2+ times a week. Love itF the Victory pod. Your stories are very interesting…keep it going! Listen to every new episode you put out!!

Abernethy1Keep It GoingWhether it’s Victory, Hollywood Waze, or the Ramble On Podcast, Doug Ellin is the reason they were a success. This latest podcast is just as good, if not better. It’s refreshing to hear him uncut, unfiltered, and unapologetically blunt. The content is always interesting. While he may dislike the negative reviewers, it’s entertaining to hear his passionate takes on them. This podcast is a must-listen for me. Please keep this podcast going Mr. Ellin.

peterackIf You Love Hollywood - Great Show!I grew up in show biz, thanks to my parents and I briefly followed in their steps, first as an actor and the in television production and happily left on my own terms in the late 90’s. And though I have a vocation that I love, I still miss “the biz.” This podcast, through stories or current events from the lens of the podcaster offers a deep dive into show business today.

ScottdhartleyGreat PodcastDoug, so glad to hear you're gonig to continue with this podcast. Victory was great but that was about your shared experiences with those guys. This one is about YOU and your experiences - it's different and super interesting. Keep going with this and it will likely morph into something popular and, hopefully, professionally rewarding. Pickleball is entering the mainstream, keep being a great ambassador and don't listen to the whiners! Thanks for all the entertainment you've provided over the years, love your work!

gerantoussbhbGreat podcast without barriers.Doug is a great story teller! Love the new pov and can’t wait for more. Please don’t stop recording. You don’t need Kevin and Kevin to discuss entourage. I didn’t listen for them, I listened to your stories and your insight on the episodes.

Victorrrrrrryyy!Hate to see it endDoug, great show and conversation. With no victory or ramble, it still felt like a window into the same narrative. I enjoyed it. Look forward to seeing a future project or seeing you back in the booth.
-
NickyfrrrrrrrNeed more EllinI hope you keep this consistent. We love your podcasts and we need them! Need Victory back, somehow.
-
tyler mendAlways a fanSince Victory made its disappearance, I really missed hearing you guys. You have consistently been the only one trying to make things happen, and I appreciate your transparency about Victory and Ramble On. I’m glad that you decided to continue your own podcast and as always appreciate your insight into film and hollywood. You’re doing a great job, Doug please keep it up. My one recommendation is I think you need a costar on this thing. Not that what you have to say isn’t interesting, but it could use someone to counter off of you to make for good conversation. Even if you might not be that interested in doing your own filmmaking anymore, discussing your favorite films and maybe having some relevant guests on I think would be really awesome to hear about too. Thanks for rambling on!
-
rick030Don’t go Doug! You can really tell when someone does a pod cast for fun and doesn’t expect huge pay days. No ads and unnecessary plugs. He just riffing and it’s nice to hear from a guy that’s lived before this era of nonsense. You got the voice for this type of work Doug, I know you can make this into something you can do for yourself. Love the change to ITSYMBII. Entourage forever!
-
SethfordNelsenThanks Doug!Hope there are more episodes! If not, thanks for the great content and I hope whatever you do next is fun and awesome! 😎

ZackdelDoug is the throat goatHe even tickles the balls while working the shaft. Love the podcast too! Keep up the good work - don’t let the haters and the losers get to you!
-
mppffppmWe need more DougThe world needs more Doug Ellin, let’s be honest if he’s not gonna be involved in an Entourage reboot or a new project he’s made for the podcast game. It would be awesome for Doug to have a live call in show, he would thrive in that environment. We’re lucky to get him once a week but hopefully one day he’ll realize he was tailor made for a talk radio style podcast and we’ll be able to listen and chat with Doug on a regular basis.
-
Ekaterina G.Doug is GreatDoug is very insightful and his stories are always interesting and easy to listen to. Keep up the good work Doug. look forward to more podcasts from you in the future!!

tperkins24Excellent!Love this show! Glad to have you back on brother. Please keep it going… it’s a show about nothing and everything all at once. Dying to see the trailer for Ramble On!

MollyMechThose who can’t do…Dear Mr. Ellin, They say that those can’t do, teach. Well, you’ve done it. You created and wrote a show that somehow captured the breadth and depth of human friendship and developed characters that showed a broad spectrum of personality. Even characters with unlikable qualities had redemptive personalities that overall made the show somehow relatable, albeit in a Hollywood world that is not. Entourage is one of those shows that will forever live on because the characters, situations and friendship hold so much interest that can be applied to a lot of peoples lives, most of which exist in frames far from LA. So, here’s where the second part comes in. Since you’ve done it, could you talk about how you write characters and the situations? I know some of them came from real life, but how do you develop them? What was your process that went in to making those characters in such a way that kept people coming back season after season? Is it archetypical or is it evolved from their experiences? Did Hollywood play a part in it or could it have succeeded in a lifestyle more accessible? You often talk about wish/dream fulfillment, but is it transferable? I think it would be fascinating for you to educate people on your process of writing and creating. This was verbose, but I am a huge fan of the show. Probably have watched it at least five times (and I went to the movie opening weekend in theaters). Even if you don’t choose to talk about it from an educational perspective, I really appreciate and respect what you did. Thanks for the years of fun! Molly
