Kannada Gothilla Podcast

Kannada Gothilla is a phrase heard often in Bangalore. It’s a go-to phrase to convey to someone you do not know the language. There are several reasons for this. One of the reasons is there isn’t a useful resource to learn Kannada. We hope to change that. The Kannada Gothilla podcast will break down everyday scenarios where knowing a few Kannada words will help. Arvind, a native speaker, will be your teacher, and Aakash, who doesn’t know the language, will be the learner. Together we will break down scenarios, give you words to use, and hopefully, it’ll help you learn the language.

    Fantastic podcast
Wow! This is an awesome podcast! I am a native English speaker (American) learning Kannada. My husband is a native Kannada speaker who doesn’t have the patience to teach me Kannada. So… Tumba Santosha! This podcast does a great job of teaching me every day Kannada in really clear English that I can understand. I highly recommend it for any English speaking person (Indian or otherwise) who wants to learn Kannada.

Great addition to the adult language learning podcast genre
I am an adult Indian American who grew up in the USA and never truly learned Kannada, which is what my family speaks at home. I can usually understand what my parents say when they speak it, but I can't speak it myself and don’t hear it from anyone else. It's almost as if this podcast is tailored to my needs - simple, conversational Kannada lessons in bite-sized chunks that cover the basics needed to be conversant and get around. Thanks so much!
