I enjoyed the latest episode but the former judge was incorrect about the racist slavery component of the USA. Initially Africans were not considered inferior. In fact the first slave owner in the USA was an African. It wasn’t until well after the USA became established that African racism began. And…there were always opponents to the racist ideas regarding slavery. The majority of the USA was not in favor of slavery and were not racist. Read, “Not Stolen”, by Jeff Fynn-Paul. It’s a common mistake to say what the former judge said though.
