Great Speaker with passion to tell it how it is.
I have been listening to Travis for quite awhile now and his content is so powerful and meaningful. I am a volunteer fire fighter that can relate to a lot of the spoken words. Keep up the hard work you do for all of us.

    Uninspired and Problematic Podcast
The podcast lacks originality, merely recounting experiences without offering any fresh perspectives or insights. It's evident that it's self-produced, with poor production quality, frequent verbal stumbles, and a lack of engaging content structure. It really could benefit from the input of a professional to elevate its production standards. There's a noticeable absence of compelling anecdotes or deeper reflections on the host's varied experiences. Additionally, the host swears too much and often comes across as immature. He's also not supportive of mental health and borders on homophobia, which is quite off-putting. Overall, this podcast falls short of delivering an engaging listening experience. Its lack of original content and amateur production make it a dull listen. If you're seeking a podcast with more substance and polish, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

    Speaks the REAL truth!
I have been listening to Travis for a long time. I have also read his book too. This man speaks the truth the way us first responders need to hear it. He has helped me through my darkest points and continues to help me through my life.

    Amazing
I first learned of Travis on TikTok. I’m currently a police officer and his videos and podcasts have made me rethink how I look at things.

    Godsmack
Well, I learned about Travis after some friends/co-workers heard him speak. Tonight, I caught a live IG video and learned he had a podcast. So I looked it up. I randomly picked Episode 114 to listen to. I listened to twice. And it hit….hard. Especially the part when he says, “You motherfucker…” It was a Godsmack. I can’t wait to listen to many more.

    Comfort
I’m a former firefighter and police officer with ptsd- I can relate with this man and his stories. It is comforting knowing that we’re not alone with our experiences and that some light can come from them. Unfortunately, I’d already lost my things and family before learning about Travis’s show and book, but he has made a difference.

    Changing lives.
One podcast at a time. Travis has helped me get on with my life and open my eyes to realize what I am doing. His first hand experience is real and easy to relate to as a first responder. Thank you Travis.

    Amazing
My family is multi-generation volunteer and paid first responders. I was forced to listen to this by my niece after she returned from 3 months Covid assistance in New York. This has helped her cope with PTSD and me understand her thoughts. I am passing this on to the rest of our family in hopes of helping them as well. Amazing way to present this much needed information!

    Please Listen
His podcasts resonates so much with me. If you haven’t read his book with the same title, please do so, though I recommend listening to it on audible as well because He’s got a great voice for speaking and podcasting. He’s not phony or fake. He’s just real about it and life. He’s talks about vulnerabilities. He’s funny, articulate, and gets his point across in a way that helps so much. He has help me tremendously. You just can’t help but love Travis Howze.

    Truth
I was introduced to this podcast over a year ago now. I was explaining to my safety officer my frustrations and he shared this podcast with me. It has literally changed my life. My parents, my in-laws, my coworkers, and especially my wife have all said how much I have changed in the past year. It’s amazing to hear that I’m not the only one out there with issues. Knowing that help is only a phone call away and being able to recognize my triggers and learning to walk away from them before I explode. This podcast has truly been priceless.

    I’m actually not crazy
Saw Travis at a conference in Feb this year and started listening to his podcasts right after. Randomly picked one and after, went straight to episode 1 and listened all the way through. I’ve been in EMS a long time and thought I was basically broken and that is just how things were forever. SO enlightening to know I’m not crazy, there are others out there who suffer from the same thoughts I do who feel there is no hope AND NO PURPOSE….I just had to be started on the correct path and Travis and HIS PURPOSE did that for me. Our sense of humor aligns (it is FANTASTIC but is “station humor” so don’t be a wuss) and I can relate to many things he discusses. I’ve shared with coworkers who report back positive as well. I still have crap days but I’m optimistic, have resources and support to get me through and owe it all to this guy. Listen to a episode or two (they are short and not full of annoying ads). If you don’t get anything helpful out of them, you will at least laugh. (Thank you Travis for life changing skills and advice thru your podcast and book)

    Helpful!!!
This has been a great show so many times. Sometimes the rants are off topic, but hey, we can’t be on point all the time. Haha For those of us who’ve worked public service, this is a must hear podcast. This man gets it and has lived it.
  • southern83fire
Travis is helping change the direction in first responder mental health.
When I got into the fire service, it was still looked down upon if you sought mental health. Yeah we had hot washes and CISM teams for the big calls, but you talked about it once and then moved on with life. Eventually things come to a boiling point where you’ve dealt with enough that it all explodes at once. Maybe it’s one big call that does it or just years of little calls that add up. The point is we have to routinely address it, not just one and done. And Travis Howze is helping bring that point to light by telling his story and reminding us that you’ll always have to fight back the demons. True it gets easier with time, but just like you don’t turn your back in a fire, don’t ever let your guard down with your mental health. Otherwise the devil will crawl up your back side and burn you bad.

True, raw, and honest! Listening to these podcasts has opened my eyes to a lot about myself, my past, and how I see my fellow coworkers at the firehouse! Helpful in more ways than I ever thought! Thank you sir sharing your story though your book and this podcast. And for letting us all know “it’s ok to not be ok”!

    Spot on!
This podcast is perfect for first responders , military and spouses. Travis doesn’t sugarcoat the truth and isn’t afraid to tell his story. Listening to him is like hearing myself and fellow firefighters talking. He is a great advocate for helping our brothers and sisters battle the mental struggles in our professions.

    Helped me
After seeing one of Travis’s shows years ago I was intrigued to check out his social media and have been following him since. I just finished his book yesterday and it brought me to tears more times than I can count because it hit home for me in many ways. My high school sweetheart and the father to my only child suffers from PTSD. PTSD is what tore our marriage apart. He served in Iraq in 2006/2007 and when he came home there was no help offered for any of them at the time. I stood by his side for as long as I possibly could. When I finally had enough and realized that I was being forced to make a decision for my child, I got out. Over the years I have struggled with trying to better understand PTSD so that I could understand why he did the things to me that he did. Following Travis had helped me to see that and to better understand. Travis has helped me to be able to better relate with my ex so that we can be friends again for our child. It takes time and patience because healing is not a process that can be rushed and PTSD is not something that I have learned will ever go away. The best thing for me to do is to continue to listen to Travis and others that have personally been through things and grow from there. I am interested in hearing more about how your spouse has handled everything since the beginning. From experience PTSD doesn’t just hurt you it hurts the ones you love too! Keep doing what you are doing Travis Howze! You are doing awesome with this podcast so far and I know it will only get better from here!!
