Deana SkellyStart listening - you’ll love it!As a licensed interior designer for over 30 years, it’s inspiring to finally hear REAL TALK about what we bring to the table on construction projects. I have been the ‘only girl on the job site’ many times and it can be tough to hold your ground. Renee totally gets it—how important it is to understand construction, and just how much smoother everything goes when we work as a team. The impact interior designers make on the construction side of projects while also holding the vision for the entire team, for the entire length of the project, continues to be undervalued. Renee’s podcast and posts remind me over and over to be proud of the work designers do. If you’re in the industry, do yourself a favor and start listening - you’ll love it!

AppleGirlLovesAnMSProductWhat They Didn’t Teach You in Design SchoolI have a Bachelors degree in Interior Design and specialize in Kitchen and Bath remodels. My college program taught me so much about building systems, project management, and other design skills I’d need. We learned nothing in school about construction, contractors, or the process of installing the designs we created. Only Girl on the Jobsite helps me navigate the complex relationships with my contractors, manage the emotional journeys of my remodel clients/homeowners, and craft the language I need to sell the project, make a profit, and get the project built the way that I and my client envision it. So many coaches give you a framework and then you have to find the time in your busy schedule to “do the homework” before you can benefit from the knowledge, but Renee Biery gives me the knowledge I need to implement so much of the information I’ve learned in the podcast the moment I hear it! These brief, easy-to-listen-to podcasts are perfect for a quick round trip commute to a client house and give me confidence to manage my business the way I want to.
-
