This podcast and Patreon used to be the highlight of my week but over the last 6 months or so I’ve found their ignorance more and more difficult to listen to.

I have been listening to this podcast for years (it is the only podcast I can truly say I’m loyal to), and it just never gets old. Claire and Ashley are so so funny and so smart and I’ve seen such an amazing development in their commentary which is so cool to experience. Can’t wait to see these gals live, I feel like they are already my friends (literally the closest experience I’ve had to a parasocial relationship haha). You have me loling when I least expect it. Celebrities better never stop writing memoirs please because I need this podcast!!!!!!!

This podcast has everything I’ve been looking for: stories that distract me from the persistent horrors & two people I feel like I’d want to be friends with. Keep it going, I’m hooked.

I love the girls’ take on the good the bad and the ugly of memoirs.

My favorite podcast! Interesting and funny, and very well balanced banter between friends. It really feels like you’re hanging with your favorite friends— goofy but not dumb. Absolutely love hearing about the internal life of Bug, a Lady of Many Charms and Skills.

I originally discovered them on TikTok after watching a clip that I disagreed with. So naturally I decided to “hate listen” to the whole episode. Turns out I was wrong. I’m obsessed with this podcast now and honestly grateful that I discovered them later in the game because now I have a whole backlog of episodes to binge.

I’ve been listening for years and at first my husband wasn’t into it but now he loves to listen too… at first he thought there were 4 hosts? Maybe because Claire and Ashley talk so fast? Idk but we’re big fans 😂 So funny and relatable.

I wonder if these women have ever experienced joy in their life. Half the episodes are just bad/hater energy lol but whatever. Some are alright!

I listen even if I don’t care about the celebrity it’s just so fun to listen to.

These girls hate a person who mentions ADHD. I like a lot of episodes but definitely hurtful the way they talk about adhd.

What a delight

Really enjoying listening. I love the celebrity gossip and life stories, but honestly find most of these memoirs unreadable. I’d much rather listen to Claire and Ashley summarize and give their opinions. If you are looking for a podcast that fawns over its subject and is always positive, this is NOT for you. The hosts are not afraid to be critical and even snarky, which is fun and refreshing in my opinion!

I love you guys so much I never miss an episode! Y’all make my tuesdays and I love how honest and insightful you guys are. Did I mention funny!

I love that this show tells me everything about the books I never want to waste the time to read. Love listening to gossip about people who are spilling the tea on themselves

I LOVE, their honesty in their opinions. They are also intelligent and funny. I do think sometimes they are a little bit too snarky. It’s not as fun to listen to when their disdain is dripping from their voices. One of them also has a vocal fry, which can sometimes be intense and hard to listen to through headphones. Overall, definitely worth listening to even though you don’t know who the celebrity is.

Always want to read memoirs before t never get around to it, I love cmbc and their funny thoughtful comments. For future memoir recs I’d do Good Vibrations (beach boy) or Faithfull ( Marianne Faithfull) anyway love love love keep up the good work.

This is my top favorite podcast, I look forward to Tuesdays now just for the drop. Clarie & Ashely are hilarious. I wish I had their thoughts on every book I read. Went to a live show and had so much fun too!

These ladies are very smart and funny! I’m a new-ish listener and have listened to almost half of the episodes so far and love pretty much every episode I’ve listen to. I just may start skipping the 2nd and or 3rd episodes they do about same memoirs, like they did with Jessica Simpson, Mariah Carey and Gabrielle Union for example. I just feel like that many episodes on the same memoirs leads to a little bit too much dissection which took the fun out of it for me personally. Anyway Claire and Ashley are great! I especially love Ashely bc I’m vegan and appreciate that she cares about animals so much!! If you ever wanna try veganism Ashley I’d recommend Plant Powered People Podcast and Chickpeeps Podcast w/ Evanna Lynch.

Some very compelling episodes— especially Anna Marie Tendler and Cher’s memoir. At times, Claire’s comments convey a lack of empathy or being ‘above it’. I also feel like Claire is not the best listener and cuts off Ashley from drawing more on her points. I find Ashley to be very knowledgeable and would love to hear her POV/opinion be valued/ expanded on more instead of usurped or refuted.

I am an avid reader of fiction but for some reason cannot get into biographies (with a few exceptions). Now I don’t have to! Thanks for the fun combination of telling us what is in the book with the honest (and funny) review.

I love this podcast, been listening to the pod since close to the beginning but am usually driving and constantly forgetting to leave a review. Ashley and Claire make me laugh, I feel like I am in the room with them and truly don’t have to read any celebrity memoirs because with 3 kids I don’t have the time but I love this version of cliff notes! Keep doing what you’re doing ladies because I am here for it! Also a worm 💜

I ran across your amazing podcast and have been listening to all of your podcasts from the start. Yesterday I listened to the Lena Dunham episode with Caroline Callaway and how you handled her was so skillful and smart that I had to join to support you. I couldn’t have remained so calm and asked such good questions as well as given such thoughtful answers, especially when she would say “how you’re wrong” or analyze you and say “this is how you are.” I did think Lena might need to get a protective order against her. Love you two!

introspective. funny. sharp at times, but that’s what i signed up for. sometimes, they call out self-pitying behavior, and it feels like free therapy. sadly, there was a time when claire said “casted” instead of “cast” and i have not forgiven her since. however, i do really enjoy the way she says ashley’s name.

When these two are “on” they are great! When they give in to their schtick though….screaming, laugh talking, purposely mispronouncing words…they are too painfully annoying to listen to.

This podcast is a public good serving the masses. 10/10

I listened to one episode and that was one too many! They are not educated on the people they talk about or the subjects in the books. They make light of serious things (again because they don’t appear to have an understanding of what they’re talking about) and their California girl accents don’t help.

The main show is great I love how they break down the celeb books and add their commentary but I get soo excited when I realize it’s Thursday at 6pm and the Patreon drops that’s where the magic happens
