Vivv72An excellent retrospectiveI hate to criticize. No actually I love to criticize something that is already good in a very stupid way. Trevor and Matt do an amazing job of taking you back to the moment of these early 2000s matches, while acknowledging the things that history has put a black mark on and highlighting the importance of these times on the wrestlers of today. But also, if this podcast is missing something for me it’s a commentary on the aesthetic choices of early 2000s wrestlers. Look I know these folks were just doing their best but the frosted tips on Nigel Mcguinnes could be an entire segment for me. Why does Claudio dress like that, and can we go back in time and steal all the parachute pants from the locker room? Perhaps just once get a judgmental woman wrestling fan on to guest. I’m sure that wouldn’t cause any backlash… just kidding. Wrestling fans. Trevor and Matt’s insight and experiences really treat you to wrestling through their eyes. In general I like wrestling recap podcasts to take me through quieter parts of my day with a mental image of matches from the past playing in my minds eye. More often than not I’ve never seen them and only occasionally do I look them up, maybe I’ll search out clips to see the most spectacular spots described. But wrestling is a rich world to delve into, and I’ve only been a fan since 2018 or so. Listening to long term fans, who I don’t always agree with but usually find level headed and thoughtful, gives context to the scene today. So many of the fixtures of todays scene were honing their craft in roh in the years this podcast focuses on.

akakhawkGood, but with major flawsThere’s a lot to like about the podcast - it’s a good topic and the hosts go really in depth to give you a feel for everything that was going on with the show and at the time. Their 5 hour show on the Feinstein scandal was great work. So while only three stars? Because the hosts (especially Matt) insist on taking every single possible opportunity to bash WWE. Look, you can objectively look back and say that all wrestling companies have done things they shouldn’t be proud of, but to hear these guys tell it, every bad thing in the industry from the past 40 years should be directly the fault of Vince McMahon, which is ridiculous

packersfanskiAs great as a CW AndersonArm stunner. Recently started rewatching ROH from the beginning and this podcast is a great compliment. Trevor and Matt are a blast and this show is much needed to cover one of the most influential promotions in wrestling.

MikeD500One of my favorite podcasts everSuch a great companion piece for watching old ROH shows. Love the great blend of nerdy fandom with cynic amusement. Both geeking out at the good and laughing at the bad.
