I love the focus of this show on bringing together authors & illustrators to talk about the picture book creation process. Because of how the traditional publishing process works, many cases it may be the first time these two halves of the creative team have spoken to each other in person, which leads to some fascinating discussions!

I haven’t found anything else that brings PB authors, editors, and illustrators together to discuss the creative writing process. Love the concise format, too!

I was so delighted to hear about this new podcast and it did not disappoint. Kim and Kirstie have such an upbeat energy and a love of all things picture book that comes through in their interviews. Since a picture book is the lovely marriage of both text and illustrations, I loved learning both about the back story of the text but also to hear from the illustrator their first impressions of the story and how their illustrations developed. The short focused format allows you to enjoy many episodes at a time, like a delicious bowl of potato chips! They have a real winner here. Highly recommend!
