Movie degreeJust began listeningIn the Abbott and Costello podcast, you referred to the duo as Lou Abbott and Bud Costello. That kind of makes me not want to listen any further.

JC1993Love, Love, Love This PodcastFantastic look at the history of film from someone who truly loves and appreciates it. Katelyn’s style is breezy and accessible, but don’t let that fool you. She knows what she’s talking about and can relate even decades-old events to contemporary ones. Bonus points for this not being a “one or two folks sit at the microphone and babble” podcast. This one is planned, researched, and delivered. Look forward to each week’s episode.

YomamamamdGreat PodcastWonderfully written, voiced, and researched with heart!

PjhatmakerSo interestingThis pod is so good. It’s very well researched and the host gives just enough personal info to be warm and friendly but not so much that’s she’s boring.
-
D_Nat302Easy listening and Informative 🫶🏻Very well organized and executed. I learn something new every episode, if not several new things. When you said your favorite actor is Gary Oldman (me too!!). I just knew I’d like to hear what you have to share with us. I was right, keep up the great work.

Katie08Like talking to a friendThank you so much for this podcast. I have been looking for a film history podcast that is easy to listen to, and actually teaches me versus having to hear someones opinion on a thing. The themes are almost always something I’m interested in, and even if they aren’t I still at least give it a shot.

MissionManSFDroning book reportsThe equivalent of Wikipedia summaries read aloud by a bored CC student, with a few random “dude” exclamations thrown to leaven the monotony.

CheckyalaterslaterGreat!Great podcast. Informative and well researched. Hard to find consistently great film podcasts and this one is always great. It’s usually easy to skip podcasts when they do a movie you don’t like but here there’s always something new to learn and it’s usually a wide net where you don’t want to skip!

theoriginalkwooLike a conversation with you smart, smart bestieI like the monthly topic format and find it impressive that Katelyn does the research, writes a script, goes to movies IN THEATERS, works a full time job and records the podcast in one week’s time. Sure, there are a few misused or mispronounced words here or there, but it makes this podcast feel more intimate, like listening to your friend share a subject about which she knows more (a lot more) than you- without being insufferable. Katelyn went to film school, works in the industry, does thorough research on a compressed timeline and most importantly LOVES FILM. If you want perfect production values, go listen to the TCM podcast. Nobody’s perfect…. Except Grace Kelly.

Aunt beeeeThe grammar! The subjects are interesting and the host gives good info, but oh the grammar! Please stop saying “whom” when “who” is correct. I’m just a few episodes in but it’s wrong in every one.

AllthingsmainyGreat HostThis podcast is great. You have a really wonderful voice and I love your personal quips about the info you so thoroughly researched. If it excites you please do more behind the scenes episodes about the process of making specific films. The Francis Ford Coppola Series is a good example. I really enjoyed the one about Dracula and learning how Coppola prepares his actors and what they did with the special effects. Also because it is a lesser talked about behind the scenes story. Thanks for all your good work!

GatsbyNYCGreat content, poor presentstionI had to give up after hearing the host mispronounce Theda Bara and Clara Bow's first names for entire episodes. Lots of similar gaffes. Hard to listen to someone who chooses to perform on microphone yet can't be bothered to work on speaking properly.

SurfCityBumAWESOMELots of good stuff from this podcast. I’ve always been fascinated by the inner workings of Hollywood and Caitlyn does an amazing job of telling it the way it was and is.
-
ictliferQuite a fan.Caitlyn (?? Sorry if spelled wrong) does a great job of retelling these stories. They are brief but informative and though many of us know the gist of her topics she has provided information that was unknown to me. She clearly does her research and perfectly recaps in a precise and organized manner. She gets right to the story and doesn’t veer off topic and bore you death with her ideas, stray stories or flat jokes. She is pleasant to listen to and her podcast keeps getting better and better.
