Horcrux HunterA must listen to podcast for film lovers!Chris does an amazing job analyzing and going through the films of Steven Spielberg. I am excited for season 2 and can’t wait to see what surprises are in store :)

chugalug08A Must For Any Spielberg Fan Albeit IconsistentThe podcast starts out really strong and I liked the format where Chris gives his thoughts and then has a companion episode where he brings on a guest. For some reason, he ditches that format in the last couple of podcasts. In my opinion there is so much more potential for this podcast. I’d love it if there were episodes on the many projects Spielberg didn’t direct (eg: Harry Potter, Memoirs Of A Geisha, InterStellar, etc).

steffakishThe best of the best!I love this podcast so much! I wish there was more episodes because I binged it in two days! I really appreciate Chris’ passion for film and for director Spielberg. He really does his research and brings on amazing guests to have a full on discussion. I just really love hearing people geek out over film without being condescending. Can’t wait to see what else he has in store.

conrockEmpathy, Authenticity, and Passion wrapped up in a fantastic PodcastSo incredibly well researched, thought out and heartfelt. Chris’s passion, vast knowledge, and understanding of Spielberg is immediately apparent. Amazing podcast. A must listen.

LamlotIf you love movies listen to this. The beautiful sound of a Tom Waits voice talking about movies, what is not to love. One of my favorite film writers has now made a podcast about the best director in film history. Y’all need to listen to this folks. Makes my day so much better when I see this in my feed. I hope Chris makes more of these kind of podcasts, maybe a Tarantino podcast? Like make many more dude.

se7encrowsA voice that will touch your soul. Yes, in that way.Listening to Chris discuss the works and genius of one of the greatest filmmakers of our time is enhanced by one of the greatest voices in podcast history. The 3 star review from christonx comes off as a whiney crybaby brat that doesn’t like the type of cereal their parent’s got them. Get over yourself. I rate that review 1 star not based off it’s tone, but off it’s content. Rating a podcast based off a voice and not its content is the dumbest thing you can do in the history of reviews. Chris, keep tickling my earholes with that voice. It might be illegal what your voice does to my eardrums, but I won’t turn you in.

cyrus17Soothing soulful soundsChris is a superstar. From his start at Slash Film to now his own unique podcast, he has proven himself to be insightful, sarcastic, and endearing. Come for the voice, stay for the content. Cheers!

howhigh52Wonderful!I’m a fan of Chris E and his wonderful deep voice from Slashfilm Daily so I figured I’d give this a listen. This podcast is truly wonderful. I’d recommend folks to not skip the “bonus” episodes as they also provide wonderful insight and analysis into the films they are discussing. Maybe we get can 20th century Spielberg next and cover the rest of his career? 🤞

christonxSounds like DeathUnfortunately this podcast is hosted by an apparently drunk nine year old who sounds like the grim reaper. Otherwise could be great.

PhoenixStoriesGreat way to revisit Spielberg’s filmsI enjoy hearing Chris’ reviews on /FilmDaily and am glad that he now has his own podcast analyzing Spielberg’s films. The special guests are interesting and the show has led me to revisit films like War of the Worlds, which I had not watched since it first came out. Looking forward to hearing future episodes.

MariaMontez54Winner for Best Improved NarratorI listen to Slashfilm Daily’s Podcast and while I understand that Chris Evangelista is the Eeyore of the group (think grumpy, touchy, disagreeable) I have also heard him be just like a normal human being, laughing and being nice to his co-writers. I started listening to this podcast, expecting the natural way he speaks on the Slashfilm podcast and perhaps some gloom and doom and was surprised when he spoke. I know he wrote the synopsis that he is reading but all I heard was Ben Stein saying, “Bueller…Bueller….”. The most boring and flat delivery I’ve ever heard and weird coming from him. I was going to leave a 1 star review then but decided to wait, listen to him again, and then decide the rating. I’m glad I did. This episode of the podcast highlighting War of the Worlds and Munich really shows how much he has evolved from the first episode. Engaging, interesting and his natural charming personality comes through. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this one and will look forward to more in the coming weeks. P.S. Not sure what copy of War of the Worlds you had - in mine Tom Cruise and his son embrace in the street outside his former mother-in-laws house in Boston. He’s definitely an enigma wrapped in a puzzle, but now that he has found his voice, I await the next episode with great anticipation. Keep ‘em coming, Eeyore!

imjoeycusackThoughtful examination of contemporary SpielbergBeen a fan of Chris’ film journalism on Slashfilm and was pleasantly surprised to see him doing a Spielberg-centric podcast. I really enjoy Chris’ narration and appreciate the effort he puts into each episode.

SMRTALECA Fine Spiritual Extension to the HBO DocI love the passion behind this podcast. The host seems to have an endless well of details from on/off the screen. Great insights and articulate podcasting.

Rugby1970A great, entertaining podcast for fans of Spielberg and cinema of all kinds.Chris’ passion comes through in every episode so far. While other film podcasts can be filled with snarkiness and cynicism, the host is really passionate and thoughtful. That doesn’t mean it isn’t fun. Quite the contrary… Chris’ enthusiasm is infectious and I can’t wait for the next episode. And to see where he’ll go after this! Can Carpenter or Tarantino be far behind??

gleamingcircuitOutstandingEvangelista is a knowledgeable film lover who really finds his own voice on this podcast. Clearly a lover of Speilberg, yet also willing to kep it grounded and critical. Having enjoyed hs sometimes curmudgeonly contribution to /Film Daily, on this cast he flies solo and practically sounds ebullient. You can almost believe he once sang in a rock band, and performed druken karaoke last year at SXSW. Highly recommended.

saviem01ExcellentI love listening to Chris talking about films - he's very knowledgeable

Ethan AndertonA great listen for Steven Spielberg fansChris Evangelista is a die hard fan of Steven Spielberg, and here he dives deep into the more recent filmography of the director, movies that haven’t been covered as extensively as classics like Jaws and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. It’s a great way to dive into the Spielberg of today, so give it a listen, and let his rich voice take you to Spielberg-burg.
-
Oshea76Cinephiles RejoiceOne of my favorite movie critics/writers has brought his wonderful editorial to the podcast realm. I could not be more elated. Evangelista, with his voice sounding like years of Maker’s Mark & Marlboro consumption, casually eases into the title referenced era of one of our greatest film directors. With bits of enlightening trivia sprinkled over his reviews and mixed with some comparisons & contrasts of each of the subject films, you have a well thought out , entertaining and evocative podcast.

chileangumbinoLove ItInformative and entertaining. Love Chris’s perspective, looking forward to more! Board Game Snobs Primary Host Gaby

chippadeeThis guy gets SpielbergAs a Stephen Spielberg fan myself (and I am one for sure) this guy knows his Spielberg facts, so if you’re like me and you like movies and like yourself some Steven Spielberg than listen to this podcast about all his movies made after the year 2000.
-
roundguy43A fresh set of eyesSpielberg’s later work is not exactly underrated, but certainly underDISCUSSED. I’m really looking forward to following this podcast journey and hear Chris Evangelista’s thoughts on some of the best films ever made yet not as talked about as the tent pole du jour. And of course I’m not including READY PLAYER ONE.

BrendanHodges81521st Century Spielberg is excellentAn excellent survey of Spielberg's often overlooked movies in the last 20 years. Essential listening for any fan of Spielberg or movies in general.
