Love this podcast!! And the Plaza! I’ve stayed at the Plaza several times and it never disappoints. Love to hear what’s going on downtown and the guests are fantastic. Keep up the good work!

I can’t even begin to explain how much I love this podcast. I went to Vegas the last weekend of March 2023/First days of April 2023 for my mom’s wedding. I stayed at the incredible time machine that is El Cortez, and knew little to nothing about downtown Las Vegas. I have been to LV numerous times as a kid and teen, but hadn’t been as an adult. It has always held a special place in my heart, having lived in the area as a child, and now I can’t wait to visit yearly, if not permanently. The history of Vegas is so rich and deep, and I feel like On the Corner of Main Street encapsulates all of it with such a vast array of guests. The fact that Jonathan is a host along with Lisa is satisfying and oddly comforting, that a CEO is so laid back and willing to be committing to a podcast about so many things beyond his own hotel. As well as having guests on that are so diverse with so many different perspectives. It would be cool to hear Zak Bagans on the podcast, being a Las Vegas native, who is in a whole different category of the history of the town. That would be a fun episode. I didn’t discover this podcast until I got home from vacation. So I binged from the beginning, and I can’t wait to go back. I was so bummed I was unaware of EVERYTHING that is DTLV. It’s vastly underrated in my opinion. I’ll be staying at the Plaza next time, no question! Please never stop doing this podcast.

I feel conflicted writing a negative review because I really enjoy the podcast. However, the comments I just heard Oscar make were so beyond inappropriate. To make light of murder is not funny. To threaten a member of the crowd is not a good joke. Real families of real people more than likely died at the hands of the men he is so proud to represent and reference from a podium. It just really rubs me the wrong way. To be so drunken on his own ego (or just drunk) indicates such a complete lack of perspective. I will no longer enjoy listening to the episodes where it is Oscar’s story hour. It is a shame because he is admittedly a gifted storyteller. But, after hearing the same stories rambled over and over and never hearing any empathy or nuance of any kind while discussing such serious matters is, well, disappointing. I look forward to future episodes that focus on modern Vegas, the industry in general, and operational insights at the property. I feel Oscar would be better represented by his many statues, they are slightly less offensive.

On the corner of Main Street is one of the best Las Vegas podcasts out there. Not only does it provide tourist information, information about casinos and happenings on downtown, but the amount of history with Mayor Goodman is outstanding! If you are a fan of Las Vegas, this is a must listen to podcast. You will not find a more entertaining and informative podcast about downtown Las Vegas. I look forward to every new episode!

The crew that puts this podcast together is very intuitive and fun. The insight the guests bring with Jonathan and crews knowledge of current activities gives all a great insight of Vegas and how downtown Las Vegas is growing and where it’s come from. Always adding Oscar to a show just flat out entertains any drive home or hike in the neighborhood. If you want to understand how the old Vegas (who shook Sinatra’s hand) has transformed into the current adult play-land give this a listen.

I have been listening to this podcast from the start. Jonathan, Lisa, Gary and even Oscar do a great job with bringing on guests who are vital to Las Vegas past abs present, especially downtown. I have met both Lisa and Jonathan on one of my trips and both are as they are on the show. Down to earth and great to talk too. Each podcast has something different to offer, from discussion on the Mob Museum, to Vegas Sports & betting, to updates to what is happening on the corner of Main Street (The Plaza). Thanks Jonathan, Lisa and Gary for your time and effort in this project.

From a cattle feeder in Iowa who had been to Vegas many times (before I was married and had kids…..), I dream of going back to visit downtown with new eyes after finding this podcast. Until then I will continue to be an avid listener of On the Corner of Main Street. The way that Johnathan, Lisa and Gary discuss the history of Las Vegas and the current developments downtown has given me a renewed sense of admiration of Fremont St. I recently have really enjoyed the Oscars dinner series as well as episode #86 with Tim Poster. A great listen during my work day!

This is an excellent effort to preserve and retell the history of Las Vegas. Incredibly interesting interviews/discussions with people who created Las Vegas.

I listen to every episode, the dinner series with Oscar are incredibly entertaining. All the guest though are excellent.

I love listening to On the Corner of Mainstreet. They always have interesting guests who are very knowledgeable about Las Vegas and the casino industry. I enjoy the replays of Oscar Goodmans talks at Oscars and hope to be able to attend one someday. It is great that Jonathan will answer anything people ask and Lisa is great at asking interesting questions and keeping everyone on topic. Definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in Las Vegas both past and present.

I enjoy hearing stories from people behind the scenes, like bartenders, bingo manager, marketing people, hosts, dealers, etc. Jonathan and his team definitely have a passion for their work and downtown.

If you like learning about Vegas history, this is THE podcast for you! Jonathan and Lisa, the hosts, get really amazing well known local figures on the show, and I have learned so much about Vegas. They are so entertaining that the 45 minutes fly by, and I eagerly wait for the next episode.

There are a LOT of Vegas podcasts, but this is the only one that really takes you inside the walls of a successful Vegas hotel/casino and makes you feel like you’re part of the executive team. The hosts are knowledgeable and refreshingly honest about the day-to-day aspects of running an enormous Vegas business that caters to out-of-town visitors of all stripes. Their guests are equally honest and often unique to this podcast. A great and fast-paced listen every week, week after week.

This is absolutely the best Vegas podcast out there. There are always very interesting guests sharing the untold history of Vegas like Oscar Goodman. Jonathan always has great surprises and updates on new and exciting plans for the future. Lisa is an outstanding host and sets the stage for every exciting episode! As a local who loves to go downtown, ON THE CORNER OF MAIN STREET is one of my go-to podcasts. There is lots of great info; not only on the fabulous Plaza Hotel, but also on many other things Vegas. I think Jonathan Jossel may be the only casino/hotel CEO who regularly connects through the podcast medium and this give even greater credibility to the show. Keep up the great work.

LOVE the Plaza podcast! So glad I heard about it last year and have been looking forward to each episode. It is very informational with current events and history of Plaza and downtown. Ever since I took part in the Oceans 14XL group trip in 2017 with my stay at Plaza I became an instant fan, an even bigger fan once On The Corner of Main Street began. Jonathan and his team have created the must listen Vegas podcast — especially if you love Downtown like I do! The guy is basically an open book - so transparent - when it comes to the casino industry and The Plaza. And he truly only interviews interesting people. It’s a great show!

Jonathan Jossel and Lisa Melmed do a wonderful podcast which brings us in to the day to day operations of a real casino. Yes, they might be shilling their property, but they do so in an entertaining way. Great guests and candid conversations let the listeners know that they not only are interested in their own property, but also the health of the downtown business community at large. Regardless, it’s always a good listen!

Having listened to every episode, I will say they are solidly in my Vegas podcast rotation. They have interesting guests and Johnathan and Lisa ask the questions you would want to ask (especially getting Johnathan’s take on things coming originally from across the pond).

The Plaza was one of the first hotels I stayed at when I visited Las Vegas and one of the first poker rooms I ever played cards (1-5 stud if I remember correctly). If you enjoy the history, news and mystique of downtown Vegas this is a must listen! Jonathan, Lisa and Gary are such a pleasure and it’s a privilege to be invited into their studio each episode.
