I’m a new subscriber but have been binging a ton of episodes for a few weeks now. The podcasts are fun, informative, and unique to each other. I enjoy the format and really appreciate how Big Chief gives context while offering distillers the platform to tell their own stories and represent themselves. Chief does a great job of showcasing his personality without overshadowing his guests (who have all been great, by the way). Honesty, authenticity, and sincere passion come through in each episode. Good, quality, informative content that whiskey consumers absolutely need. Keep up the great work, Big Chief.

The Bourbon Life is my first and favorite podcast I’ve listened to and instantly couldn’t put it down. I got introduced to The Whiskey Trip through The Bourbon Life and I had the pleasure of meeting Big Chief at Golden Beaver in Chico. He is an amazing person and both he and Mark from TBL have helped me out a TON getting started on my own podcast Distilling The West. I greatly appreciate both of you gentlemen on many accounts. I work about an hour away from home so I’ve got plenty of windshield time to listen to podcasts. And on Tuesday and Friday I choose to listen to Big Chief tell us all about his guest’s and friend’s happenings in the world of whiskey. You can get a sense of his character and knowledge of the game just from listening to him for an hour or so. The best though is when there’s not a real agenda on topic and he’s just shootin the breeze with April or Adam, his loyal whiskey compatriots. On Friday’s there’s nothing better than listening to Mark and Matt have wonderful conversations with all of their guests. There’s truly nothing better than Matt’s descriptions, even though it’s not horehound candy right Big Chief, and listening to Mark underplay his talents as a Master of Bourbon. The episodes with the whole gang are my favorite because it reminds me of my whiskey drinking crew. Cheers to all, drink it how you like it, and always remember that it’s about the company not the glass.

One of the friends that was a part of the “experience “ was born and raised in Kentucky and has been a studier of bourbon and Kentucky history for years. He came to the “experience “ thinking that “there is nothing that Big Chief can tell me that I don’t already know”. He left the “experience “ amazed and full of respect for the knowledge that Big Chief shares (and the bourbon of course). In fact we were all amazed and thankful for the entire “experience “. First time hearing this podcast but not the first time listening to Big Chief! Great group of cast members that provided a vast insight of whiskies that I have never heard of. Time to start hunting for those! Keep it up!

The angels share interviews are unlistenable. Hosts can’t control the temp or flow of the show and I had stop 10 minutes in.

These are guys you’d want to hang with. They know more than enough but are modest about it and having fun. No stupid schtick.

Love hearing all of the episodes. I’m new to the podcast and just a few years into my bourbon journey. Love hearing from y’all and the master distillers. I enjoy listening to the show and tasting along with y’all.

The episodes are good, people being interviewed are great. The constant laughing forced from the host, and it sounds like there’s constant liquid in someone’s mouth creeping through the back ground of a conversation, pushes me away.

Excellent format and show. Love the bourbon industry guests and the show is professional. Let me know when you want to do a show on dusties/vintage whiskey.
