kimberknitsFavorite Padres podcasterI always enjoy this podcast. The host is engaging and clearly knows his stuff. One star off because lately the updates have been a bit sporadic and I miss it. Do check out his other podcast, Baseball vs. The World, very entertaining general baseball topics!

silvapa2006LOPLOP is a funny and informative sports show.

Log-24PoorJust not a good podcast. Poor sound. Host is rarely prepared and often reading recaps during podcast. He is really goofy and goes on rants. Occasionally burps during the cast. Do not recommend.

vulcano58Bad take on SotoThe dude don’t want to Sign until free agency. He wants a bigger BAG. Stop with that dumb narrative. They won’t pay Soto. They pay for Cronezone for god sake’s

Katie8509Love the content - but the soundI was just trying to listen to your crossover with the Brewers. Your sound was fine but his kept cutting out. If the sound is bad can’t you re-record? Why would you/he publish an episode that sounds horrible?

chughes_wiselyDecent ContentI don’t mind Javi’s content but the mic setup makes it hard to listen to. It’s evident in this most recent crossover section with the Mets. His mic is crisp and clean. Javi’s sounds like very muffled, it cuts out, and become frustrating. May be a bit petty but I feel if this what you’re going to do, audio is important.

ThenumberzeroEntertaining host! One of my first listens of the day, the host is entertaining though sometimes it feels like he’s not always prepared. He is insightful and could tell that he enjoys doing the podcast. Can’t watch his YouTube channel cuz I’m always busy but I can always hear him and his jovial commentary on my favorite team. Keep doing it, my guy! 💪🏼

Cdh.619Just started to follow the padresHe started to follow the Padres about 2 years ago and doesn’t even live in San Diego or hasn’t gone to any padres game. They should have a true padres fan. Never prepared before his podcast🙄 and has to many features, when he runs out of ideas he just does a feature with another locked on podcast. He is not a real baseball fan😑

billlybob25a bad pitching staff in a few yearsHow do we avoid maybe having a bad pitching staff because A lot of them are going in to free angency. Love the pod.
-
Pb11223344A Padres podcast? The host is very biased towards certain players and would constantly cast random doubts on players who are clearly not his favorites but have been performing outstandingly. Wonder if he really watched the games, or simply just not a Padres fan

holdentudix30Luishow do you feel about us trading for luis castillo?

bambino12yaGreat podGreat pod with a great host!!
-
Dk262Padres or DodgersSome days I’m not sure if this is a Padres podcast or a Dodgers podcast. The Dodgers seem to live rent free in Javi’s head.
-
Rake CronengirthLove the podAlways look forward to every show and Javi makes them fun to listen to. His exuberance and propensity to go off on tangents make him the antithesis of many other podcast hosts in a good way and it adds a different element. It’s refreshing to hear someone who wasn’t initially a Padres fan become so immersed into the organization. He clearly does his research and is a knowledgeable baseball mind. Must listen for the Friar Faithful

ScipioAureliusGood but kind of frustratingMan, prepare a little more before recording

CanuckDavidINOregonGreat PodcastI really enjoy this podcast. The host has great viewpoints and insight. I mostly agree with him!

Go Browns13Tatis injuryQuestion: Do you think that tatis could re-aggravate his injury and if so how badly? OR How good/bad can the Padres starting pitching get? My review: LOVE the host Javi, lots of great information, and catches me up on the latest Padres news. Great Padres podcast recamend to all fans.
-
theglatnaPadresGreat podcast can u talk on tattis felding tho and snells pitching
-
papple123Best Padres PodI listen in every time to get all my padres news and stats. Host is fantastic
-
blueweaver22JAVI IS THE MANI love this podcast so much! Highly recommend to all fans of the Padres. I have enjoyed listening to the podcast in car rides and golf practice. Nobody is better host of a podcast then my man JAVI. His energy is so great and a smile comes on my face every time I see a new vid. Love the pod. I have one question. If you were the GM of the Padres who would you trade/sign?
-
Chargers619760COVID superpowersLove the pod! Question for you: why are so many MLB players catching COVID and then coming back looking like they have superpowers? Tatis is the obvious example, but even Chris Paddack, Gleyber Torres, etc
-
Matthew4868Getting betterWaited to rate till I had a real feeling on Javi and the podcast. He’s really good, informed and has an opinion I don’t always agree with but a great listen. Would recommend to all Padres fans for sure.

a pug named knucklesLove the show, sorry for the long question! On paper, our offense is slightly above average across the MLB (12th in runs). However, a closer look at some individual stats reveals that our batters are far from average-not that they are all performing well, but their stat lines make them appear highly specialized. Machado leads the team RBIs by a mile, but his OPS is a pedestrian 0.734. Cronenworth rarely notches an RBI (11 on the season) but leads the team in batting average (0.306) and runs (26). Hosmer has a great batting average (0.305) but doesn’t have many runs to show for it (12). Grisham is our only Swiss army knife who is decent in all situations, everyone else is either machete, bottle opener, or scissors. Is it normal for batters to be this “specialized”? Is our lineup capitalizing on the weirdness of our batters?
-
Brice-PJavi is the best!!!Love listening to Javi talk about the Dads bc there is nobody more energetic or knowledgeable and he makes baseball fun even when things aren’t going perfectly!
-
collonial foot soldierStaying Faithful 😜Love the show! Since we got nailed with covid, I was hoping you could go over the rules. Does getting sent to the IL due to contact tracing mean you have to sit out 10 full days. I’m sure Tatis and Myers will have to sit out the full length... but what about Hosmer and Profar?
-
AnthonyBurruss22Too Early QuestionJavier, I love the podcast. Exactly what I was looking for. A daily podcast on our Padres with a knowledgeable, energetic host who knows our Padres with a fan’s perspective who knows WAY more than I do. My question is: I know the trade deadline is a long ways away, but what do you think is our weakness we need to improve? Should we get a reliever to help out our bullpen (who have been stellar but getting worn out because of our inconstant starting pitching) or get a bat for the middle to end of the lineup? Somebody to get on base like we did last year getting Mitch Moreland? If the Cubs aren’t in contention and in a fire sale at the trade deadline, I think Kris Bryant (free agent next year) would be a great edition to our team taking over left field for Tommy Pham, What are your thoughts? Bonus question: with Tatis with covid, do they call up CJ Abrams who’s been hot in the minors to cover for the next 10 to 14 days?
-
smileymothGreat HostDefinitely one of the better Locked On network pods. Q for J: Why haven’t they moved Tatis down in the order? He has seven solo homers this year and it seems like he never gets ABs with runners on. Padres are forfeiting a ton of runs by letting him lead off and bat after the bottom order.
-
Bald Eagle BirdThis Podcast is EverythingThe Padres bring so much joy and energy to baseball and Javi matches that each and every day. Definitely have to listen each and every day. Froppy ftw!
-
Ben KaspickA must for Padres fans! This review is long overdue. Javier is an absolute gem. Phenomenal energy, hilarious, great voice. And of course tremendous insights on the Padres and baseball in general. Do yourself a favor and subscribe!
-
Nicholas DupontNoThis is such a horrible podcast. Annoying idiots. I beg you, please listen to it so u can know my pain.
-
Rylan StilesJavi is the goat!Javi is the very best in the business he balances baseball talk with fun! A rare combination in this mostly stale sport! Javi is covering the perfect team the Fun Diego Padres! He is Locked on to SD! Local vibe! Chill vibe! Good vibe! Javi is a Big Padres guy!
-
aram17Javi rocks.Most engaging Padres pod you’ll find
-
ConnorNewcGreat content!Javi, like Manny Machado, is elite!
-
totallyapadsfanI’d give 10000 stars if I couldPhenomenal pod, great host and guests!
-
PadrejebHuh?Find someone in San Diego to do the show. The show with the KC video game fan - awful
-
LlessurhsojHost isn’t knowledgeableThe host doesn’t know much about the padres. Kinda pointless to have a daily padres podcast if you don’t have a host who knows the team. Can’t LO find a real padres fan in SD to host the show?
-
covid kingPadres fanPretty weak podcast. Host knows very little about the padres history, or personality of the many entertaining teams over the years. Maybe the lameness of this podcast is due to the lack of baseball currently being played b/c of corona virus. iDK? Host is definitely a poser padre fan, has sub-par baseball intellect compared to the average padre fans’ baseball I. Q., and would be heckled right out of old jack murphy back in the day. Why is he the padres podcast host is very questionable? Oh well

Jariath29Took a couple to get goingWas a little worried at first, but was anxious for a locked on show for my Team. The host takes feedback and is working to make the show better. The best part was listening to him get the pitchers names right the first time, after butchering for a few episodes. Updated 4/28/2020 Show is going downhill, I realize there is no season at this point, but let’s try and keep the focus on your team everyday, with other stuff occasionally. Talk about years past, decade weeks, something Padres related. Also, many days are missed. I was eager for a locked on for all my teams, i guess the Patriots and NFL podcasts are the gold standard, this one I have been giving time. I only want to listen to one team podcast, and right now I am probably going back to On Friar.

theryanjamesOkay BUT...the host is NOT a Padres FanI love the format and idea of ~20 minutes a day of Padres content. As far as that content goes, what the host has come up with so far has been reasonably well selected and relevant and COULD be worth listening to. Meaning, the topics are fine. The actual discussion of the topics is lacking. The host, while seemingly a baseball lover, knows pretty much nothing about the Padres. A fact which is readily apparent to even the casual Padres fan. It isn’t just the mispronunciation of player names, which is blatantly obvious, but also the references that the host looks to pull from during his chatter and conversations with guests. They are generic and lacking in detail and authenticity. Javier - If you aren’t actually going to be a fan...study up!! Now is a great time. Do some research. Watch some old games or player interviews. Read the heck out of whatever articles are out there. Do something to catch up to the familiarity of the Padres fans who are listening to you. Do it before the season actually starts. Do it while people have more time in their days to actually continue to tune in. I think the negative reviews stem partially from the posing as a Padres fan as much as the lack of knowledge. The tangential relationship to San Diego you have mentioned has not generated what you need to be believable as such. The public can smell it a mile away and we don’t love it. Lastly, for me personally there are two other things which could be better. One general and one specific. 1. I don’t know how relatable your New Jersey kid, just out of college, anime, living with your parents personality is to most San Diego Padres fans. To me...not at all. Maybe tone that down? Not that that they are bad things. You seem like a nice, smart kid overall. My guess is just that you won’t have that in common with a lot of the potential listeners. 2. Stop saying, “Still making that joke...” after the best pod that isn’t the Padres bit. The statement is fine/witty enough. I like it. Wouldn’t mind hearing it every day. Just own it and don’t waffle. I hope that you find this review constructive! Keep trying!
-
luuthedudeNot a Padres fanWas a fan at first now this is just ridiculous you have a guy that has not once clue about this franchise looks at stats on the internet for guidance mispronounces names who the hell is Matt Stram? Please locked on let’s get an actual Padres fan who talks PADRES BASEBALL
-
NarniaKingGreat podDon’t listen to the haters, nobody is going to pronounce the names perfect without being corrected, who’s going to actually know how to say Lucchesi right the first time?? Show/ host gets better with each episode and still going strong without even having baseball to follow!
-
Les VegasNot much about the Padres? This is more about what the host thinks, what’s going on with his guests, and general baseball than the Padres. I listen to a lot of locked on podcasts this is my least favorite.
-
Raiderhater75DisappointedWas happy when he acknowledged mispronouncing Pham and Lucchesi... then he mispronounced Hosmer a week later. Besides the fact that the host does not know enough about the padres to pronounce their names correctly there isn’t enough of what padre fans want to hear, like knowledge about the team in general. A host with an actual pulse on the team and city would go a long way.
-
GRobConnollyNot authenticThe person hosting this podcast comes off as a general baseball fan trying to be an “expert” on the Padres.
-
be8365PassShould probably have someone host who can at least pronounce the player names correctly. Plenty of other Padres podcasts worth your time instead of this one.
