    Outstanding!
Chris has incredible respect for the game of baseball. His conversations always uncover a new insight into how and why the greatest performed at such a high level. I know there are a lot more episodes in the Hardball archives and I hope we get to hear them soon!

Great but where are the new episodes?
I love this podcast and Dimino is great conversationalist, however I haven’t seen a new episode in forever. When are we going to get some new ones?

    A window into the past
As a fairly recent (and casual) baseball fan, I was searching for a baseball history podcast to learn more about the sport. Hardball is exactly what I wanted. First-person conversations with legends of the game are fascinating and go well beyond common public knowledge. I'm trying to parse the episodes out so I don't run out before the next batch drops. More please! And thank you.

Best BASEBALL interview I have heard in ages with Pete Rose. I appreciated the talk being MAINLY about baseball rather than Pete’s gambling.

Best baseball podcast out there !
Chris Dimino talking to the legends of baseball is Solid Gold ! Stories of the days of baseball past; a must to listen to if you’re a baseball fan !

    One of a kind
It’s very refreshing to have a podcast that’s predicated on conversations with the guests rather than cookie cutter, TOP OF THE FUNNEL interviews.

    Dimino is Just the Best!
I have been following Chris Dimino in Atlanta radio for a long time. He also has one of the best podcasts. If you are interested in great baseball interviews, this is the place. Whether it’s some legends or soon to be legends, it’s just good listening.

    Awesome . . . Simply awesome!
Any baseball fan will love this. But I think anyone will enjoy it. It’s the Ken Burns anthology but all first person. Said this a couple years ago and happy to repeat it now. An oral history of the last 80 years plus of America’s pastime, told by the people who played — often the stories they’ve never told before. Chris Dimino is an incredible interviewer and gets his subjects to open up and provide the “inside baseball” about . . . well, baseball.

    Baseball Nostalgia Gold
These are baseball treasures of conservations with the legends of baseball. Chris Domino’s interview style is unique in that he can get legends to open up about their playing days. Great stuff for baseball fans. Listening to these conversations really makes you wish he had a Time Machine so he can talk with Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig. Cy Young and the others of that generation. He actually does speak with players that faced Ruth. An incredible list of conversations and worth the stop to listen and browse.

    Great listen!
Chris does an incredible job getting stars from the golden age of baseball to open up and share great stories. Has a great sense of what questions to ask to make them feel comfortable without kissing up to them. Very authentic. Give him a listen and you won’t regret it!

    The Best Baseball Podcast
The talks that Chris has with some of baseball royalty are the best out there. They have brought back so many great memories of my youth and conversations I had with my grandfather.

    Tremendous
This is a fabulous broadcast chronicling some of the great players in baseball history. He has a distinct knack for making players feel comfortable and allowing them to tell their stories. If you love baseball, this is an absolute must listen. I also think that this should be required listening for media members covering the game, they may learn something.

A ‘Must Listen’ for all baseball fans
Hearing Chris Dimino on the radio is one of things I’ve missed since leaving Atlanta four years ago. Next to Costas, I can’t name a more knowledgeable, respected, baseball insider than Dimino. These podcast are a treasure chest of baseball history and my new favorite podcast. Thank you Chris!

    Just a conversation
These conversations, and yes that is what they are, are awesome. No matter the era the player played, the love of the game comes through. I have listened to Chris for over 20 years on Atlanta sports talk radio and his love of baseball, along with knowledge, is ever present. Many of the conversations leave me wanting to know more. Simply stated, these are wonderful oral histories of the game of baseball.

    Great Stories
Great stories, well told. Good guests that go way way back. Careful with cutting off your guests speaking. Would a Pete Rose by any other name play the same ?

    Something to share
Chris has a reverence for the game, the glory years, and the people of baseball that enhances the privilege of listening in on a private conversation. I suddenly have a strong urge to drive seven hours to see my dad and listen to a couple of these episodes together. Nothing more I can say.

Found these podcasts earlier this summer and have been going thru them starting with the oldest to newest...... I'm almost to the last one. NEED MORE PODCASTS MR. DIMINO! :) 9/1/21 Thank you!!! I really enjoy the Hardball podcasts and your interview style. Thank you again for honoring and preserving the history of the game and it’s personalities.

    Davie Johnson Interview
Just listened to the Davie Johnson interview. Terrific as usual! One thing I notice in this interview that I don’t think Dimino has done before. He dropped the F bomb once and the SH word twice. It added absolutely nothing to the interview. It came across as too casual, too common and absolutely not necessary. That said, keep up the good work absent the cursing. And, if you have a Willie Mays interview, please post. My childhood hero!

For the love of the game
Chris Dimino has conversations with people who love the game and gives them an opportunity to describe the whys behind their love. No matter how much you think you know about the game and the men who have played it the best, each podcast will expose you to something you didn’t know and make you love the game even more.

    Audible history
If you love the game, there are not better conversations to listen to. Some I remember, some I only have heard of, but through it all Dimino gets interesting conversations going. Dimino is part fan, part media member, but most importantly he understands and respects the game enough to interview these legends in an entertaining way. You MUST listen!

    Outstanding Interviews
Chris has a passion for baseball and a genuine respect for those he interviews. The result is an outstanding trip through the historic moments of baseball through the words of those who lived them. The questions are well informed and appreciated by the interviewees. An excellent listen.

    Way more than baseball history...
Dear Mr Dimino, What a podcast - thank you for compiling and sharing these conversations. I’m a baseball fan, but not a fanatic. What I am a fanatic about is a story, a conversation where I learn about a person’s story, their history, motivations, and experiences and in the process, get a glimpse into a piece of American history. Your podcast delivers in all counts, and then some. Thank you, and thank you for respectfully calling your older guests Mr. It’s been a long time since people showed respect that way! I’m listening from the beginning...keep them coming! Take good care, Jiffy Page

    Brilliant.
Chris’s respect for the game and admiration of these legends who played it pours forth through every minute of these interviews, especially the Scooter Rizzuto episode. Chris really brought out the life in the 83 yr old and it sounded like Phil enjoyed speaking with him. Holy Cow! Great listening. Thank you for Hardball !

    Best Baseball podcast.
Chris does a great job with , as he calls it, conversations rather than interviews. Always asks the right questions. The things you won’t hear in a normal interview.

Chris does a fantastic job getting the most from these conversations with these legends. I have enjoyed every single one I have listened to, even if I didn’t particularly care for the player when they played. You will hear never before heard stories from these greats of the game.

I just found this podcast. I enjoy baseball history. This really hits the mark . Great interviews. Excellent guests
  • So it'll leave me alone
    The best there is
I find myself listening to these interviews over and over. The combination of Chris Dimino’s vast knowledge of the history of the game and his ability to ask the right question-the most interesting question at the perfect moment is unparalleled. He takes icons and sets the stage for the player to paint the vivid picture of so many moments. I appreciate this show existing and I recommend it to any baseball fan, any age who loves the game.
