The best way to start my day
I love the hosts. They’re perfect together. UPDATE: why the actual f are you advertising SKIMS on this show???? You KNOW that it’s made by little kids in a sweatshop… This is a liberal progressive news podcast.. Figure out your brand, losers.

    Host are so so
Some hosts do a wonderful job but others are just not right for a daily news show I want to listen to first thing in the morning.

Due to David’s decision to partner publicly with “Alt facts”, I’m leaving all Crooked media entities. Do you think you can make common cause to show nonpartisanship by partnering with the traitors still working to overthrow our nation? Nope, you’ve just stooped to their level, forfeited your own credibility and handed them a step up. I was die-hard w/swag, sharing, etc CROOKED LOST ITS WAY

    Uninformative and pro Hamas
This podcast is not informative if you follow the news already. It just dabbles on the surface. In addition, it is as pro Hamas as it gets. Unsubscribing again.

💙 How we got here series
WAD is my brief news pod go to. Really like the addition of how we got here series

    Ads…
I’ve been listening for ages and really enjoy this show. However, the ads keep expanding; this show is frequently under 20 min long and these days there are multiple 1 min ads; I heard 3 in a row on an 18 min ep! 3 min ads every 15 min is tv level, and there’s a reason I don’t watch tv anymore and listen to podcasts instead.

Both sides-ing a genocide is really disappointing
Was excited WAD was covering the student protests against Israel’s genocide at Columbia and other schools, but was deeply disappointed that at no point during the segment did anyone bother to interrogate the faulty assumption that criticism of Israel is somehow tantamount to antisemitism. It’s just really lazy journalism and I thought I could count on Crooked for better.

    Leave womens sports along
Trans are not women and they should not be invading women’s spaces and making a mockery of them! Stop supporting the mental illness at the expense of women! Support women being women and having spaces that celebrate women.

Love “how did we get here” but…
Love the Saturday series how did we get here but I am gonna pass on the daily edition. All the cohosts are fine (Prianka and Juanita are faves) but I feel like the outlook and point of view are very narrow and presented as fact vs opinion. Just rubs me the wrong way.

We get it. You hate Israel.
So much biased one sided “journalism.” You may as well be on the Hamas payroll.

So glad to hear your voice
Really enjoying the new Saturday program with Erin and Max. Content is educational and the delivery, enjoyable. Great chemistry between the co-hosts. Keep it up!

    Slow pace, interviews are canned
    Just okay.

    Interesting topics….but
Josie talks way too fast sometimes. Difficult to follow. Slow down and slow down guests that talk rapidly, please.

    How We Got Here
I’ve been listening to What a Day since the first episode; the weekday version is great. This review is for How Did We Get Here. On each episode so far I’ve learned something new, especially the latest one on how clothing quality has gotten so bad, including non-fast fashion. Kudos to Max, Erin, and the production team!

    News I can Use
Thank you so much for dipping a slotted spoon into the chaotic cesspool of daily narrative to bring us a concise, engaging, humorous and digestible news bite.

    Good podcasts
It’s a good podcast, very informative. But the presenters mispronounce lots and lots of words. It’s unfortunate that they can’t pronounce basic simple words. And it seems that they don’t make attempts to learn how to correctly other words And they don’t know how to properly use the phrase quote, end quote It’s hard to wanna continue to listen to this podcast when so many mistakes are made

    Simplistic and biased reporting
There is a complete lack of historical context to help listeners understand the full scope of the Mid-east conflict.

They pick and choose when to be opinionated
I’ve been listening to what a day since 2019 and it quickly became a part of my routine. I loved that it gave news while still keeping it casual, I loved the guests they would bring on for deeper insight. I also loved how they talked about different pressing issues in our country. Recently, the hosts (rightfully) express their frustration when state governments are moving backwards in terms of policies (Texas border policies, abortion laws everywhere, etc) but are eerily neutral about the US involvement in international affairs as well as not critical enough of Biden. The bias is clear and loud and the podcast has turned into a grab for sound bites and it comes off disingenuous. It’s turned me off completely.

    Usually a Great Show
The shows with Juanita are often terrible though. She is frequently misinformed, and engages in way too much editorializing based on her misinformed opinion. For example in today’s (2/14) show, she makes the claim that NY-03’s election result shows that reproductive rights and preserving democracy were the key winning issues in that race. This despite every single person and reporter on the ground, including the candidate himself, pointing to immigration and the bipartisan border deal as the central issue of the race for voters. It’s ok for a host to not be fully informed on all things at all times. It’s not ok for a host to misinform the audience because they are depending on lazy crutches and not actually doing the work. Priyanka, Trevell, Josie, all five stars though.

    Disappointing since Oct 7th
The show has become antisemitic. Hard stop. I have been an avid WAD squad listener since this show launched in 2019 with Akilah and Gideon. I have been gravely disappointed though by the new hosts on the reporting since October 7th. I’ve been struggling with whether to unsubscribe and give up until today. The coverage of the Joel Osteen Houston church shooting went above and beyond to minimize the role antisemitism played. Shame on you. Shame on you Crooked Media for letting this show proliferate such misguided hated.

    Shows Awesome
Juanita is a little annoying though. Like we get it you have a Twitter, you don’t have to speak in memes.

    The best Podcast!
Max and Erin are the combo I never knew I needed. I genuinely didn’t think this show could get better and now we are here.

    Crooked’s bias is still showing
I really loved listening to What a Day every morning, but it seems Crooked’s bias towards Biden has crept even into this podcast. We get that you worked for Obama, please cover the election and all candidates fairly.

    Love the Saturday add!
I love WAD and I’m so excited that you all added a Saturday show! And I love that you’ve added Erin and Max. Looking forward to what they bring to the show.

    The pandering is the problem
I used to love this show so much and I think the hosts are trying- but it’s just not coming from a place where there’s real honest truth and heart. It’s sound bites, buzz words, kinda pandering towards institutions that go against our own interests as marginalized people. Maybe it’s the “corporate of it all” that has stifled the rawness and radicalness that is so needed and was what made the show stand out originally. I want the show to have a backbone and call a spade a spade when it comes to our reality right now in 2024 under the Biden administration, multiple wars, funding Israel, the ongoing ignored pandemic and the working class poor being ignored as per usual. Bring on more radical hosts, speakers who challenge the status quo and are reporting from the ground. I don’t get what’s happened but long time listeners have noticed and I also had to unsubscribe from Al Crooked Media (except Keep It!) bc the pandering to dems and liberals is CNN levels of delulu!
  • David*431
Listen to BBC world news instead
I’ve listened to this show for years but it’s gone seriously downhill. The new hosts have referred to first responders (firefighters and EMS) as problematic, referred to folks volunteering on the front lines in Ukraine as mercenaries, and frequently use exclusionary language. I started listening to the BBC world service instead and recommend anyone reading this do the same. Real news without the host personal grievances and inane pop culture nonsense.

Why the hate on Lexington, KY
As one of the most liberal cities in the south, I think the hate should be misdirected. I am proud to live here and proud of the progress we’ve made.

    👍🏽
Enjoying the new hosts and always the quick update, humor and perspective.

    Not Zionists!
Who are these reviewers calling this show’s hosts Zionists?! I’m an anti-Zionist Jew and am very happy with the WAD hosts’ reporting and narration. WAD is my favorite way to get my daily news and I get super sad whenever they take well-deserved days off!

    What happened to 1/3/24 episode?
I was relieved to finally see a new episode. Imagine my surprise as I was listening and it went from 1/3 to 11/26 episode. What in the world happened.

    I miss the Akilah/Gideon days
Had to unsubscribe because I can’t make it through a single episode with the new hosts. The professionalism and fun banter of Akilah and Gideon is gone and replaced with surface level reporting, rambling, and exclusionary language. Luckily I can tune in to other Crooked pods.

    A new favorite
I’ve only been listening for about a week now but i really appreciate the mix of factual information and progressive opinions and the clear way that both are expressed.

    Sad where this has gone
This use to be a great podcast that did not lean hard in any direction and provided context. Sadly it has become a podcast where the hosts just launch into their own opinions and political panics hard to the far left. Good luck but I’m out.

    Unprofessional
Some of the hosts need to scale back their personalities. It’s a completely unprofessional delivery of the news

    Love all the hosts
Love the rotation and different energy and area of expertise they each bring. It’s a little pop culture-y for a nearly 50 yo stick-in-the-mud, but it makes me feel a bit more in the know. Keep up the good work!
  • Adam Cheslock
    Miss the old hosts
Can you all please retire the phrase “it’s giving…”? Most the hosts are great… Juanita is just annoying.
  • Moderatepolisci
Not for moderate democrats- only extreme left wingers
I consider myself moderately liberal and vote Democrat- however this show is the EXTREME left wing. They use phrases like “white women energy” and are a bit anti semetic.

Super liberal. No balance. I’ll get my info elsewhere. Best of luck

    Balance
I really appreciate how your are reporting on Israel/Palestine. It is such a complicated and nuanced situation and your reporting is balanced and fair. You answer questions as they pop up in my head and offer counter points constantly. Thanks for the care with this sad and volatile situation.
  • kynaughto
    Failed
I used to love listening to this show. Definitely had great news coverage, but their coverage of the genocide in occupied Palestine is disappointing. They don’t even refer to it as a genocide. I thought they were better than that.
  • Ray_Brad
    Unlistenable
I have never actually left a podcast review before, but I feel strongly about this one. I acknowledge and seek out biased media because I group my ideals and values as leftist. The content since Oct. 7th has been horrifically biased to favor Israel and consistently fails to acknowledge the humanity and genocide of the Palestinian people. For instance, today, the language is set to describe Israelis were “hostages” while Palestinians are “prisoners”. How is is possible that the children that have been held captive by IDF are not also hostages? This is pretty much my final straw with the hypocrisy of the writers and journalists for this podcast.

    Fascinating Propaganda
Conclusory statements. Not fleshed out, party line rhetoric, and regrettably about what you might expect these days. Feelings over facts. Was looking for a neutral fact source. I wish these folks the best. The search continues.

    Impossible to listen to
Thankfully Crooked still has some other great podcasts. These hosts make it impossible to digest what little news is actually covered in each show. Bring back the Gideon/Priyanka duo - that I could listen to. Maybe it’s a generational thing.
  • chelkie
    What happened…
Used to be a favorite for go-to news, but their coverage of the genocide in occupied Palestine has been difficult to listen through.
