One of my most looked-forward to podcasts! I enjoy everything about it!

From title of episodes, this could be comprehensive if not exhaustive history of western food. Civilizations and Societies that were the last one to invent and develop human food. It’s more like 1000 years from now, someone makes a show about History of Technology and all episodes are about technological development in Africa. Misleading and miseducating generations to come.

Love your voice, the show is great, but I HATE the music.

I started to listen to this podcast because I needed to write a short weekly post for school about a podcast relating to history/food, but even now after graduating, I routinely come back to listen. It is well done, covers interesting topics, and is a really cool mesh of history and other areas! I think most people would find something enjoyable in this show.

Enjoyable stories. No complaints at all there. Too bad I can’t hardly hear them. Granted, I listen to these to help go to sleep, but the music! It’s kinda odd to begin with but is way too loud, seemingly endless, and makes it hard to hear the speaker. Very distracting. At the end of the stories can get so loud it’s startling. Even using as a sleep story, I don’t understand why folks put music over a speaker. At the beginning or end? Or maybe. But please not constantly. Ads are long for the length of the stories. I think I need to move on to something else.

Found your podcast after hearing you interviewed on IDKAT. Hope there are more episodes to come!

It’s just so fun listening to you talk about food but I’d wish you make more episodes

Nick Charlie Key makes the history of food fun! A whimsical look at the stories behind our favorite foods. You won’t be disappointed for checking out this splendid narrative podcast. Great theme music BTW.

If you are somehow craving yet another history podcast from a British/male/colonialist lens, you may find the episodes interesting. But hardly enough to justify being comprised of one quarter advertisements.

This podcast is so engaging. You are guaranteed to learn something new and all the episodes are entertaining. Perfect listening while you clean, drive, or walk!

I adore this show and have since I stumbled upon it last year. I quickly binge-listened to all the episodes and love sharing it with those who have an appreciation of food and/or quirky history. Each show has a wonderful story and is so simply and engagingly done. My only complaint would be I wish there were more- and that I could buy all these stories in book form. Cite sources. Too much of the da Vinci episode is lifted from other articles written years before this pod, with only slight tweaks.

Not 100% sure about all his facts or maybe it’s just things I’ve never heard of, but super entertaining no matter what. Check out the Nazi margarine episode if nothing else. Great stuff!

These episodes are chocked-full of easily digestible information that keep you coming back for more. The host has a warm and soothing voice, and I would recommend this podcast to anyone who eats.

I found this podcast while searching “food history” hoping for something along the lines of Sawbones and Lore, and I couldn’t be more pleased. Nick’s delivery is clear and succinct, with just enough added flavor to keep it from feeling like a dusty monologue. I particularly enjoy the episodes about strange animals/animal products people have tried eating.

I just started listening to this podcast and think it’s so fun! The bizarre facts about food and famous people is so intriguing and interesting (especially when you’re a vegetarian 🤣). I like that the episodes are short and sweet, just like a Tapioca Time-Bomb!

By far the best food podcast I’ve listened to. I was stuck on a long flight, and only had Nick Charlie Key’s soothing voice to listen to, which helped take my mind off my cramped economy seat, and into a magical world all about food. I love the length of the episodes, they are nice and short, perhaps one could describe each episode as *bite* size. I hope to hear Nick’s voice in my ears again 👌 This podcast gets a perfect 5/7 from me.
