Seth .BLove your show!Hello from the United States. I have been very intrigued by Wellingtonās Peninsula campaign for a long time and a fan and collector of Bernard Cornwellās Sharpeās series. This podcast is exactly what I was looking for.

Grifman1A new favorite! The British Empire fought a lot of wars across the globe, some large, but many local obscure colonial affairs. This is a great podcast looking all of this history. What I like is hearing the stories from the perspective of those who were there, as the host often relays these accounts. Love this podcast and I highly recommend it!

KalquienFantastic Deep DivesLoved the recent podcast where the podcast did a deep dive into the life of Lord Kitchener. Often seen as just a caricature on a poster itās amazing to learn the details of his extraordinary career and how it affected his life. Equal attention given to topics as varied as the Zulu war and Peninsular Campaign. Have been really enjoying this and hope more people sign on.

šµš¼āāļøhistory detectiveGoodGreat content and nice delivery, good voice, at least to someone whoās not a Brit š. Sounds like kind of a bad dude himself which combined with being a good story teller works out swimmingly for a war podcast.

G_NUTTSuperbWith nuanced detail, Mr. Parkinson does a phenomenal job of creating a narrative that is easy to follow, and thoroughly entertaining. His use of first hand accounts really makes the listener feel like he has āboots on the groundā during some of the British Armyās most prolific (and sometimes obscure) historical moments. Highly recommend.

aardvark61555 Stars and 3 Cheers! Not the conventional high gloss podcast (which is refreshing), but the amount of research and details provided make this podcast very much worthwhile. The Zulu episodes are solid gold and that hooked me into listening to the other stories. Being from Texas Iāve never given a moments thought about the Peninsular War but, because of the way the stories are told, I look forward to every episode. And the interviews are outstanding. He lets the guest speak at length on their subject without interruption. I just hope heās able to keep up the great work without having to surrender to limiting his time and/or adding advertising. Great job!

IdahoPakehaEngaging history podcastFirst off, the enthusiasm for the subject is contagious. There are so many history podcasts out there that just put me to sleep but this one is different. The author (caster?) uses first person accounts liberally which really liven up the narrative and make you want to visit the sites yourself to put yourself in their shoes. Recommended

FlatmanLewisOne of the BEST podcasts available.First, let me say that this podcast is amazingly detailed and thorough. It does a perfect job of capturing the technical aspects of warfare while wholeheartedly telling the human tale. It is well researched and told with passion. I LOVE the manner in which he reads his narrative and speaks as a man truly driven by the quest to remember the history of events. He has the confidence of a man well versed in the material covered and yet humble enough to offer honest moments of self criticism when his research leaves some obscure fact undetermined. Simply put he is a relatable man who I would love to sit and throw a few cold drinks back while remembering the brave souls who fought under the Queens Colours. I have heard no better podcast to date. My only advice, donāt apologize for the impersonation accents when reading the accounts of actual participants of the battles. It adds tremendous depth and captures the imagination. Itās done in believable manner and makes the narrative come alive. Well done.

Jumpy JohnnyOutstanding PresentationBrand new to this and itās already in my Top 10. Great discussion of the Zulu War and other conflicts that I know only through movies and minor references in other works. I am learning a great deal and enjoying the hell out of it.

English ScottishHit the ground runningA lot of podcasts take time to find their feet ( even the great History of Rome). Not this one, this has been truly excellent from the very beginning. Christian Parkinson has found a subject that could run for a long time and so far has covered the Anglo-Zulu War brilliantly. Iām looking forward to hear more from this great podcast.

MadmeninviennaThis is the best podcast on itunesGripping tales of the military campaigns of the British Empire at its height, come to life in each of the Redcoat History podcasts. Each story is excellent, well researched, narrated with great care and character. Christian Parkinson takes the listener inside all aspects of each campaign - exploring the reasons why, the strategies of the leadership (on both sides), and the voices of the officers and the troops engaged in battles. He wraps each tale in the sounds of the battle which brings the whole story to life in such exhilarating way; and he offers incredible additional content on his youtube and website. Listen once, and you will be hook. Brilliant job!

Yank SamLove itThis podcast is great for history buffs. It is simple enough for people who arenāt familiar w the topic yet isnāt a bore for people well versed.

Xenophon212730Great Military History Podcast! The āRedcoat History Podcastā is off to a great start with a fascinating and relatable series discussing the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879. The story is intense, the narrative clear and organized, and the account very even-handed and balanced. I look forward to more great podcasts!
