I’m an archivist that spends a lot of my workday scanning, filing, and sorting things and you can be sure Mary and Blake are constantly on my podcast feed. The dynamic between the hosts is lovely - these two are very funny, sassy, and smart! They bring a unique perspective to their recaps, that I may not always agree with but certainly enjoy and appreciate. I love Mary’s random anecdotes and Blakes attention to detail. I could listen all day!

Every episode I finish, I immediately think “what did Mary & Blake think about this episode?! Did they pick up on things I did? What did they see that I missed? And most importantly, what did Mary’s dad think?!” 😂 I cannot wait for their episode on House of the Dragon episode 6. I found them through Outlander and I can’t watch my shows without them anymore. I recently cut all my Patreon subscriptions except Mary and Blake. They’re worth it, try it out!

I love that Mary and Blake quench my thirst for more of my favorite shows. When I’m done watching an episode I want to explore it even more, and Mary & Blake provide insights and perspectives that help to solidify how I feel about each episode. Mary and Blake are a must have companion to every episode. As I watch, I find myself wondering what they’ll say about plot points. I love the sharing of Team Black or Team Green in each episode in addition to the GBG and flame ratings. This podcast definitely is a great addition to the Mary & Blake universe!

I was introduced to Mary and Blake by my girlfriend who is a big Harry Potter fan and has been a long time fan of the potterverse podcast! It’s made my morning commute easier listening to the banter between the hosts and I always learn more about the show when I listen to the podcast. The episodes are very organized and each talking section opens more topics of discussion that work perfectly with each other. I’ve become a big fan! Thanks for all you do :)

I love the newest addition to this show, where Mary & Blake show their allegiance by the colors they wear! This is one of my fave fan podcasts! Mary’s empathy and understanding for the characters (even when she hasn’t read the books) and Blake’s attention to film/TV-making always make me say INTERESTING! As someone who *has* read this book, I can’t wait to see their reactions to the rest of this season and beyond!

I was reading the book and I realized that the first episode of the House of the Dragon where Aemma Arryn has a C-section is actually inaccurate. They took the scene that happened to Queen Alyssa, the mother of Jaehaerys I, Alysanne and Rhaena Targaryen in the Fire & Blood book and used it in the show. Aemma did die from childbirth and did have a son who survived her a day in the book. Do you think they did that on purpose?

I’ve been listening to Mary and Blake’s podcasts for a while and when I heard they were going to podcast about House of the Dragon I got really excited and they did an excellent job I absolutely love it❣️ I actually binge listened to it and one of my favorite things about Mary and Blake is when Mary makes Blake almost choke from laughing so hard 😆 I always love hearing your thoughts about the shows and of course Stats are for nerds 💕✨and all the info Blake talks about is always interesting! Good people with an awesome sense of humor, and this is just one of their many podcasts that they do from their own home with their own self developed business! It’s like when you and your best friends all watch the same show, then can’t wait to get together the next morning so you can all talk about the utter chaos and drama that happened in the episode the night before. That’s what it’s like with Mary & Blake. Except Mary & Blake bring together a great big group of international friends to share insight, hot takes, speculate about future plot lines, and carry on with plenty of laughter and shenanigans each week. Plus Mary’s Dad is absolutely the BEST!

Not being a GoT fan, I only gave HotD a try because I knew Mary and Blake were going to podcast about it. Turned out I really enjoyed the show but having this podcast as a companion certainly added to the experience. I love M&B dynamic! Love hearing the details of filming, lighting, etc that Blake mentions, and Mary’s takes and down to Earth humor crack me up every time! No matter how heavy the matter is, there is always gonna be some laughter and fun banter.

I have been listening to Mary and Blake since discovering them through their other podcast, Outlander. I enjoy their format and perfect level of humor it brings while I listen on my daily commute. Also, with all the similar sounding names and multiples of the same names in characters, listening to them helps me process who everyone is in the global scheme of things (like Erik and Erik 2). The characters on this show are entertaining and I never thought I’d be rooting for an incestuous uncle/niece duo but here we are. Love hearing all the questions and theories, and especially the newest segment with Mary’s dad- and Mary always forgetting that he listens to the podcast too. Thank you both for all that you do and the joy you bring to many fans!

Mary and Blake provide insightful and unique commentary on HOD (and so many other shows/books). They often point out things in that I failed to see, hear or understand. They provide just the right amount of background info (without delving into spoilers). Plus, their witty back and forth banger only adds to the fun. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 for M&B!!

In the latest episode 1.09, Blake sympathizes with Aegon saying basically he is the way he is due to not having his father’s love. Excusing all his monstrous behavior. He is not a teenage kid who acted out in high school and stayed past curfew. He is a rapist who feels no remorse for what he does (says he’s only having “fun”), and who enjoys watching children fight to the death in pits. How would you feel if someone did that to a family member of yours and their defense in court was “my father didn’t love me”? Would you all of a sudden say, “oh, I understand why you did the things you did. You’re not so bad. Here, you’ll be better with some love. Let him go free!” And disappointing that Mary did not push back on this. Lots of podcasts about house of the dragon out there. Don’t waste your time with this one.

Love you guys. I started listening to you with Outlander and then TLK, The Crown, GOT and now HOTD. You guys are the best. I love all your stories and you seem to always make me laugh. I listen while I work (luckily from home). I was laughing hysterically with episode 1.04 of HOTD and Mary’s dad. You two always bring joy to my day!! And thank you to Mary’s dad!!

Mary & Blake are my favorite podcasters! I initially found their podcast for Outlander and loved the analysis they brought to each episode! I then listened to their podcast of Last Kingdom and Bridgerton! I have only watched the first 3 episodes of Game of Thrones but had to jump over to House of the Dragon because I wanted to listen to Mary & Blake’s commentary in real time! The authenticity of this couple comes through in each episode and really makes you want to join the nerd clan (go to maryandblake.com for details)! I love that Blake points out things about lighting and music that I might have otherwise missed. I love that they have a sense of humor and make the analysis fun and not boring! I love when Blake breaks out laughing at something Mary said 😆. Whenever I watch a great episode of TV, I immediately want to know what Mary & Blake think! I started listening to Mary & Blake with the Outlander Series. I am now listening to House of the Dragon and Rings of Power. I always love Blake’s comments on the cinematography because I learn something and sometimes go back to the episode to look at what he is talking about. I identify with Mary in many ways as I too was a Band Nerd! She always has the Woman’s view and I usually agree with her takes. I hope that you will give their podcasts a chance. I guaranty it will make you rethink a few of your takes while watching the series!

My favorite podcast nerd power couple is at it again! This is the perfect companion podcast for any fan of House of the Dragon. I love their intelligent insight, and they are also just straight up funny. Highly recommend this podcast!

I was able to get halfway through before turning this off.. House of the Dragon premiere review… lots of complaints about how the premiere didn’t grab them or impress them and the subtext is they liked GoT better. And that’s fine but at least have some analysis to illustrate your rationale. Case in point- Mary complains there is gratuitous sex and cited the brothel scene. but why not explain what the sex took away or failed to add to the scene, or how it was a distraction? And why does Blake continue to re-interpret what Mary says? Lastly when he started to downplay Rhaenyra’s selection as crown princess I gave up.

Your Grace, I have throughly enjoyed your posts to the masses. Your conversations & view points have increased my enjoyment of HOTD. I hope that your father continues to call in with his take. My Lord Earl, please know that when you give your daughter laughter, it spreads to all of us everywhere.

I am absolutely obsessed with everything Game of Thrones, so I love hearing their mostly ‘unsullied’ opinions, which are often quite different than others deep in the fandom. I’ve been a big Mary & Blake fan for a few years now. I’ve listened to their GoT podcast, This is Us, Outlander, Gilmore Girls, Harry Potter Book Club, just started their Gilmore Girls podcast, Bridgerton podcast, and others that I’m sure I’m forgetting. The point is, they make some wicked awesome podcasts and I suggest you check them all out! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 rating!

I fell in love with M&B for Outlander and am so happy they are covering House of the Dragon! I love their witty banter and Blake’s knowledge of the makings of good TV.
