fcamineiro79Great for cycling nerdsThis is a goldmine for anyone obsessed with the intersection of applied biochemistry and cycling data analysis. The hosts and his guests break down complex topics—like energy systems, nutrient timing, and power metrics—into practical insights you can actually use on the bike. Whether it’s dissecting VO2 max or crunching numbers from your latest ride, this show blends nerdy precision with real-world application. Perfect for data-driven cyclists who want to optimize performance without the fluff.

Slowrise30Worth a ListenI’ve been listening to EC since 2019, stumbling across it honestly looking for a good podcast about the sport of cycling. I’d only been riding for a year or so and didn’t know anything about racing, training, nutrition, or recovery. I’ve come a long way with them, at first self coaching from the lessons I learned on the pod, to eventually becoming a client. Kolie and his different co-hosts, though usually Kyle, speak very articulately about the biological adaptions that happen while training which is what first drew me into the show. Krebs Cycles, size principles, V02 max, FTP all get their dues, but he has also been doing a good job bringing in other voices with diverse backgrounds that all relate to the sport of bike racing. Some of my favorites are about strength training and nutrition. I’ve never written a review about any podcast but I love this one so much I thought it was important to continue supporting it. Five Stars!

CoachPatrickSmithPhD ApprovedKolie and Kyle make the science of endurance training super accessible. As a scientist is sport and performance, this is my go to for keeping up on material that is related to my work without having to wade through publications.

Lynda from CAAgeismUnfortunately I found the latest podcast to be ageist. I’ll check in again when the podcaster reaches 60 years old…then see how they feel. I know plenty of people still riding strong (even some racing) into their 70s! Also, the podcaster could curtail the use of the f-word to keep the “clean” rating. It just isn’t necessary all the time nor do I want my kids listening to it.

SeppiHOne of the best cycling podcast HANDS DOWNIf coaches can talk about cellar redox, AMPC, NADH and wavelength absortion and emission (photoelectirc effect) they leave out the quandum part on purpose and talk about real training gems and most of the time in a modest real way. These guys really know and know how the rubber meets the road. Hands down one of the best podcast. BTW i need to sent them some money for their massive amout of time and research they doing and putting this program together. Thanks

BriscoCountyIIISoooo deepKolie (the host) and his sidekick, Superstrong Astrophysicist, go very deep into what the heck happens when you train your body. It is cycling focused. The backdrop of the show is this: we’re all different people with different current states, so understanding the actual physiology can influence the best path forward, rather than just doing the same thing as your favorite pro or best bro. Spoiler alert: there is no magic bullet, and if you get lousy sleep and eat terribly, this won’t suddenly make you faster.

AJS914Five StarsOne of my favorite cycling podcasts for training and high performance.

JimV 1A couple of Hacks!Just a couple of hacks. They make assumptions of fact, that they then prove are not true, but use the assumption anyway. If you want standard FTP dogma, this is the place. Real knowledge is found elsewhere.

sean scott mud city racingBest cycling podcast for the science and dataGreat show, nice balance of deep dives into the science versus being listener-friendly and accessible. A must listen if you are interested in understanding the physiology of cycling.

NLeopardEC the bestMA$$HOLE and BIGSPACEBOI give the best training advice and exercise phys discussion on the internet.

You know, likeInformative, but...It like drives me crazy that like every sentence has like one or two likes peppered throughout. I like prefer my like scientific info to like be presented in a way like you feel like the presenter isn’t like a 17 year old.

J.atkinsProfessionals and scientistsThese guys know cycling unlike any other coach or podcast personality. Their background as scientists brings more information that will make you head spin, but in a way anyone can understand it. They address many of the misconceptions most of us know is wrong and they fully explain why. Then explain what us right. Their deep dives into studies is astounding. They are pros.
-
T. M. PalmerFantastic deep dives and lots of useful tipsI love this podcast...these guys are the perfect tour guides through the vast and often contradictory scientific literature of cycling. If you're confused about why your training program has you exhausted all the time, if you've plateaued and can't seem to get any faster, if you want to know how to make your own hydration mix to save money, if you want to know how to best figure out your FTP, or if you want to really dig in to the science of getting fast on your bike, this is the podcast for you. I listen to a bunch of different cycling training pods, and this is far and away my favorite.

b-m89MisinformationFirst episode I listened to was episode #7 about base training. Was so full of wrong information I couldn’t finish (e.g. - the real benefit of training in zone 2 is it gets you to rest, training in zone 2 doesn't cause much adaptation because it is well within your ability, below the aerobic/ventilatory threshold you are 100pct fat burning......all of these are super incorrect statements).
-
DjonaschsimplifyingThe best kinds of advice and instruction show the underlying simplicity of apparently complex problems. By working from physiological first principles, these guys achieve that really well!
-
twatruckiThese guys are amazing!Seriously mind blown after listening to these guys. I often repeat episodes just to fully understand these topics. If you wanna take your training to the next level, give these guys a listen!

SteeeereevAll others being dataIn the facts we trust. Kolie and Kyle keep it based on the true foundations of knowledge and do a ton of research into this podcast.
-
yeenevensome of the best info out thereAmazing info from reputable sources. Thank you for passing on that sweet sweet knowledge
-
TriDVMConcise, usable informationThese guys know their stuff and they know how to make it applicable. I really like how they give the theory of different training strategies, but then follow up with specific examples of putting the theory into practice. Definitely worth the listen

mitch.9876Like a personal coach - Well researched, well explainedIf you are looking for quality info on how to get faster and fitter, this is a good place to listen. Based on research and experience. I love how detailed they are in their explanations on the hows and whys around structured workouts. If you love science- this is for you
-
Dave77snaveThese guys are sharpWant to learn more about cycling and training/biology than you ever wanted (through the eyes of a scientist)? Some deep dives go over my head, but I appreciate how thorough and knowledgable the hosts are. This is not your “ten quick tips for success” and dials into what actually delivers results and the metabolic processes behind them.

KellentatAwesome stuff!Awesome stuff! It's like having cycling scientists in your pocket!
