Fuzzyf4c3Not the best, but not terrible.Sorry guys, I love 30 Rock but you go on way too many unrelated tangents. Your speak in monotone and your mics are at wildly different volumes which is real hard on the ears. Additionally, your 30 Rock knowledge is just ok and for a super fan the main guy apparently doesn’t actually seem to like that many episodes. I like how much show content is in it. Also there’s no that much 30 Rock content out there so I’m glad this exists.

Huckleberry27616Promise unfulfilledThese two podcasters are painfully unaware of at least half of the pop culture references made in the show. I tried three episodes and it really never hit stride. Often, they get distracted by something in the episode and have a 4-5 minute non sequitur about something inane. On the positive side, the use of clips from the show are a nice touch. Somewhat shocked the NBC/Universal hasn’t “shut it down”

(RAWR!)Great podcastI love listening to podcast as I sleep because I try to keep my light exposure to a minimum. 30 Rock is one of my favorite shows of all time, so having a podcast to listen to about is a great option. My only issue with the podcast is that the audio levels are really low when they use audio from the show, and when it cuts back to them talking it gets really loud. Having the audio levels balanced better would be my only critique.

JagerfishA solid base to build onI’m giving this show five stars despite this cast being far from perfect because I see potential here, and it often takes a show a while to find itself, and I don’t want to judge too early. First, this show’s mere existence is great. Getting the opinions of the hosts on the shows various plots and jokes is enjoyable. I enjoy the clips even when they run long, and like the tangents and supplemental information about other media. I’m thinking about rewatching the series along with the hosts to better enjoy the show.

amy_dStill finding its footingThis podcast has potential, but I think the hosts are still figuring out their angle and format. The podcast goes like this: each episode is a beat-by-beat walk through an episode of "30 Rock," featuring several audio clips—too many clips for my taste. The hosts do a good job identifying ongoing gags and tying them to later seasons. I also like that they comment on how the characters evolve (Jenna), or stay the same (Kenneth). But I wish the hosts would do a lot more research before they record. For one thing, they stumble and struggle to remember details (characters' names, certain lines, what happens next). They are often clueless or misinformed about the current events that drive of the jokes, although those things are easily researched (e.g., Gary Condit). And the tangents… (I think they spent 10 minutes trying to remember who Stacey Keach is, an actor who has never appeared on 30 Rock.) Finally, I wish they had more behind the scenes or "insider" perspective. (They did a great job with this in pointing out that there were 3 episodes in a row without Jenna or Josh—I had never noticed that—and referencing stories from Tina Fey’s Bossypants.) I’d like to see them provide more information and perspective, not just airing audio clips and explaining the plot.
