Love the topics, hosts are cringey
The topics, natural sound, and education are still top notch. But I miss the tone of the show previously. It might not be their fault (maybe the writing?) but the current hosts’ sound like they’re narrating a Disney channel show. It ends up feeling like a mismatch with the topics and BBC earth brand.

    One of my favorite podcasts
Fascinating stories of the natural world

    Very good podcast!!!
You may thank you ugly animals shouldn’t be alive .what they look like. but not what they do for the environment. it’s really changing my life for animals, in nature that look ugly. but what matters the really Beautiful on the inside. some of the most of the animals are so cute on the inside they cut me some mouse is a rat. Everybody thinks they shouldn’t be alive.. but he loves it they snuggle with you.

    Changed format not as appealing
Adored the previous seasons with Emily Knight. The shows were entertaining, educational and sophisticated. There are still interesting topics on the show but I’m not as big of a fan of the new format or the style of new hosts.

    Incredibly Disappointed
Before 2022, this podcast was amazing!!! Now they’ve completely Americanized a British podcast and I can’t stand it. I waited 1.5 years for this?! No thanks. Unsubscribed.

    Where’s Emily?
The first 4 seasons were really good, Emily knight did an amazing job and her narrations were perfect. These new teens who narrate sound awful and their dialogue is moot.

    Why change a good thing?!
Emily Knight presented the initial 4 seasons and was a erudite, thoughtful presenter with a fantastic tone. Season 5 sees two new presenters who are self-indulgent and self-referential millennials with whiny sensibilities. I’m a little devastated and giving up after two episodes….

    Olde version was better
The first 4 seasons were stellar. This new style I am not at all a fan of, sounds like every other corporate podcast now.

    I love this show!
I first discovered this show when I had a stomachache, headache and a cold. I love everyone’s voices, they are so calming. I listen to this show when I sleep and I love to learn about Planet Earth. I like how you guys interview people, it’s makes it feel… more real! Definitely one of the best shows I’ve listened to!

    Amazing work of audio nonfiction
This podcast is nature like only BBC Earth can do it. Who doesn’t love to kick back with tea and Planet Earth? Well, now you can experience that same feeling of amazement on the go with some of the best storytelling and audio production out there. Started in 2018 and having just finished up its fourth season, it presents close-up encounters and surprising insights into not only nature but the science and human condition surrounding it. There is meticulous attention given to the immersive soundscape with every volume and direction of sound added to put the listener inside the narrative. Apple Podcasts has 5/5 stars, 203 ratings, and 20 written reviews. Solo host Emily Knight guides the show through a set of related stories each week on Mondays with topics ranging from the bottoms of oceans to the peaks of the highest mountains in the world. The show currently has 35 episodes, all about 30 minutes in length. My favorite episodes have been “Can anything last forever?” and “Finding what doesn't want to be found.” Owltail’s most popular episodes are “The planet where it rains diamonds'' and “Looking Up.” No word on when the next season can be expected but with no final goodbye it seems that another is coming. The music is so great I’m going to refer to it as a score and commercials are average in quantity. Perfect for sleep or work. I can't recommend it enough. One of the best podcasts I have heard
I can’t believe how beautiful and poetic this is. The host, Emily Knight should write a book! The insight is so relevant from the guests and the structure is like a story and a narrator. I’ve tried to listen to other podcasts to learn about earth but none can match the level of depth and soul in this one. It’s moved me to want to do something for our beautiful world, bringing a feeling of familiarity and hope for it. Thank you so much for this and we need more!

    My favorite so far!
Genuinely love this podcast, I only wish there were more episodes. This is the only show I’ve come back to multiple times, and the only one I’ve felt compelled to write a review for. It’s so well done that hearing the same episodes over and over again never feels repetitive. Perfect marriage of education and emotion - you laugh, cry, and end each episode with a sense of optimistic wonder. 🌎

    Favorite New Podcast
As a huge fan of BBC docs, especially those focused on the natural world, I’ve loved listening to this podcast. I have been surprised by its dual exploration of nature and human nature. My only complaint is that the episodes aren’t longer! Highly recommend!

    Wonderfull
This is the podcast that I have been waiting for someone to make for years. Great stories about nature, travel, and our place in this wild world. This really compliments the documentaries well. Thank you BBC.
