I have listened to every episode of the podcast and have enjoyed practically all of them. The episode on Scary Movie made me unfollow and never want to look back. It wasn’t the movie review, it was the unnecessary bigotry thrown into it. David made some disparaging remarks toward Sydney for using the pronouns “They/them” and fired her on the spot. That is oversimplifying what was maybe a 5-10 minute uncomfortable segment. At first I thought it was a bit. Since they were talking about Scary Movie, I thought it was making fun of the outdated homophobia/transphobia jokes found in the movie. No, the co-hosts hemmed and hawed about it being David’s podcast and not wanting to make waves because they need the income brought by it. The show then resumed like normal. A few days later another 10 minute pod appeared to address the controversy. I was expecting David to apologize for his antiquated views or for him to announce it was all a horribly conceived skit that wasn’t as humorous as he thought. He didn’t do either. The podcast episode didn’t even have the decency to formally acknowledge if it was real or a sick joke. It addressed that they lost Patreons and then announced Sydney bought David out to become majority shareholder. David celebrated he cashed out and made money instead of floundering on a struggling podcast. Either his rant was serious and he is a disgusting human being who ended up victorious by getting paid to leave his own podcast or this was all one big elaborate joke using real minority concerns over bigotry in the workplace as a punchline. Either way, it left a bad taste in my mouth and I hope no one listens to this pod ever again.

A once-great show that fell apart when David just couldn’t act like a professional. Too bad.

This is supposed to be one of the top horror movie podcasts, but based on the most recent episode, the owner is a misogynist and a bigot. This podcast is just gross and disappointing.

After David’s comments and handling of firing on-air, please unfollow the show and do not support this fool.

Of Hill House and Bly Manor. Many podcasts in this genre are weak but these guys are Good enough to keep me listening. Finished their Hill House reviews and on #4 of Bly. Forgot I did a review already. UPDATE: The one host saying he likes Paranormal Act. “Next of Kin” makes me wonder about all your life’s decisions. It was a hot mess, even Blumhouse hates it.

This podcast achieves a rare and perfect balance with its three hosts, Bryce, Max, and Sydney. Younger Max and Sydney are perfect foils to Bryce. The trio bring a mix of in depth knowledge of the horror genre and goofy humor to their conversations. The listener comes away edified and entertained.

This pod was always questionable, but was at least a little edgy and entertaining. Now with Max and his not so veiled misogyny hiding behind “I’m just a sweet Mormon boy” persona, it’s unlistenable.

Listened to my first episode today on Silent Hill. I found the discussion to be pretty fun and very funny. The hosts gave great chemistry together and the show flew by for me. Will definitely be back for more in the future!

Agreed with what you guys said on the Silent Hill episode. You want growth? Cut the casino ads. Nonestopped casino ads should go. I listen to several podcasts with no ads. Huge fan. I’ve been listening for years. Really love the show. Hope you guys right the ship on this one.

Any person who still uses the excuse on behalf of a woman (not themselves) of “women troubles” is a bit of a horror show. I may have started with the wrong episode here, but I stuck with it because of my love of horror only to find Max rambling on and on as though he is a podcaster because he loves to hear himself talk instead of his love for the topic and engagement with like-minded people. Blah.

So I’ve been a fan of the show since the David Era. I was really bummed when he left and I first I wasn’t really digging Sidney and Max. I was the jackass who referred to them as “human quaaludes”. But since then they have come into their own, shaken off the slow start and become more lively. I still really love the show and listen weekly. Keep up the great work! One more thing, I think Sidney uses the word “like” too much when talking.

Sooo, this episode on the Devils Rejects starts with every pod member describing how bad the movie was, taking them days to get though, and they don't even want to talk about it...followed by 10 straight minutes of Sidney literally whining like a child (don't get me wrong, I agree with the sentiments and think this is a terrible movie), but unbearably immature...then ads that break in and out of the cast repeatedly and jarringly, with the same ads playing multiple times (as though a mistake - not the only time this has happened). Why would I listen any further??

Glad that the show is back to mainly horror. But Sidney and the younger guy are vapid posers.

I listened to the immaculate review… spoiler incoming… you guys need to seriously reflect on why a movie centered around female body horror is, according to you, entertaining, but the ending somehow crosses a moral line. Instead of whining about how it “really upset you,” would be nice if you could maybe express equal outrage and criticism towards the systematic ab-se of women that works to produce the inhumane outcomes you claim to abhor.

New listener and love so far! The only thing that was hard is Sidney talks over the other hosts. I don’t know if it’s due to them doing the show virtually, but otherwise it’s fun.

I don’t give low star ratings so il still give 5 to not be a hater but I tried listening to 3 eps and these guys are way too critical of films. I want ti hear films being reviewed by ppl who enjoy them. Just seem bored and don’t seem like they even like horror movies

Didn’t even get to enjoy my first episode without Trump bashing. And what’s funny is all he said was “do you think the FBI actually do some crazy things like….” and cut to his friends slamming him for being a possible conspiracy theorist. I just want to know; do liberals know any real history? Have you all read the things that our CIA and FBI have ACTUALLY done? Do you honestly think after reading these insane deeds..”oh, they’ve all left that in the past, they are totally on the up and up now”. I will never understand the people who root for government and government coverup so hard, it’s easy to see how we are all kept so in check I suppose. One star. Do not recommend if you have common sense.

I only listen to episodes of movies that I have watched, or sometimes I watch the movie to be able to hear the pod. David was great, but the teenagers have really been sharpening up, you all have great chemistry. Bat > spear for me

I love the laid back, casual vibe. Great mix of current and old movies. One of the few podcasts I listen to as soon as it comes out. No complaints!

Hilarious podcast for horror fans! Sometimes Max has trouble taking a joke, but other than that the hosts are awesome. Sidney brings a fresh perspective to the show and Bryce brings the laughs.

I love this show! Bryce and David are awesome, but so are Max and Sydney! They have added a lot of flavor to the show since the departure of David and you can really tell that they love being a part of it! It shows in the work they all put in. Anyone who is a fan of horror needs to listen.

The best and only podcast I listen to consistently. I’m obsessed with the horror genre and tried numerous podcasts revolving around horror themes, but always came back to HMT. It was excellent in the past when Bryce and David were both hosting, and it is equally enjoyable in its more recent iteration with Bryce, Max and Sydney. I love the format they follow for reviews, and it’s very clear everyone is passionate about horror and has a lot of fun talking about the genre, while delivering welcome doses of sarcasm and good-natured ribbing. I’m always laughing at the banter and hot takes, and I have to applaud HMT for keeping it real and not worrying about censoring themselves or being called out by the PC police that make most modern discourse so static and boring. What a breath of fresh air….keep it up!!

Love the podcast, been listening for over 1yr! My only gripe is that the audio levels are all over the place. The discussion volume is fairly low, and the ads are much higher volume. Maybe look into to that issue. Otherwise you guys rock, very funny!

I love this podcast! I found it randomly on Spotify one day and I haven’t stopped listening to it since. They are hilarious and entertaining and the best podcast out there for horror fans!!!

Perfunctory film commentary. “Oh, I don’t know the name of the lead female actor in Killing of a Sacred Deer.’ tired schtick. Comfortable with using the R word in every ep. Somehow thought a belch bit was needed in every ep.

Started listening to this maybe two years ago. Seemed like the hosts were burnt out already, especially Bryce, who spent half the episodes, sighing, burping and sounding unbelievably bored. Regardless, I found them pretty funny and occasionally insightful, even though I think they have very different opinions than my own when it comes to a lot of movies. But now, one of the hosts of a horror movie podcast refuses to watch horror movies? Why are you still even on the show? I stopped listening for a little while, and when I came back, that’s what the situation was and now the show is just awkward and the formula is totally messed up. I still like their brand of humor, and I think they seem like decent guys, it’s just not really something I want to listen to anymore unfortunately since David no longer participates in the thing the entire show is based around. Also, the advertisements just randomly breaking in when they are midsentence makes it hard to not just instantly switch to listening to something else

After one of the commentators said “like” for the 100th time in three minutes . I was “like” done!

I used to be a ride or die for this show but now that the format has changed I feel like we’re just left with some empty shell reviews and the heart and friendship between the two are now, not gone but sort of…awkward. It’s like when you’ve been friends with someone since grade school and then one day you both realized you grew up and totally changed and are now like “yeah this is weird.” It be like that. Here is the new format: David got to a place where he couldn’t watch horror movies anymore so now they alternate every week between one week Bryce reviews horror movies with a guest and the other week David gets Bryce to watch a comedy or action (or any non-horror) movie he hasn’t seen or it’s been a while. The non- horror movie is a bust in my opinion. They have done True Lies, Jurassic Park, Dumb

Started listening to these guys maybe over a year now just joined their Patreon to listen to more of them. These guys are great and hilarious I enjoy listening to them and you will too.

I really wanted to like this podcast, but as I listened to several more episodes over time, it completely turned me off for several reasons: The length of the episodes is deceiving because they really only talk about the movie for about 15-20 minutes and the rest are commercials and random unrelated conversations. The hosts constantly bring up about how hot and sexy an actress is or the sex they had with their wives which we listeners do not care about that personal business. Sometimes they even sexualize an under age person in the movie, and then the other hosts tries to get them to shut up about it yet they don’t seem to cut this part out of their episode and still keep it in? It’s uncomfortable to listen to. The random burping is DISGUSTING and unprofessional. They don’t do enough research about the movie so it comes off as lazy…..

I used to love this show A LOT an every week warrior every Wednesday I’m there listening to this podcast. Now since David doesn’t watch horror it’s not the same anymore. Think of it going to your job and not do anything but your just there. That’s how it feels with David there. Also people down play some scenes idk if it’s to make david to feel better or not cause they’re to intense or gory for him. I would just change the name of horror movie talk to just movie talk or start watching horror movies again. It’s just sad.
