tjohnsonjr87Bruce Lies JR TriesI love this show for two reasons one I think JR is very straightforward in he feels about the business. But sometimes I feel like there’s not a lot of chemistry with JR and Conrad Thompson. I think Conrad is just winging it. I don’t think he cares too much about JR for some reason you can tell through their exchange that they’re doing it for work, not for enjoyment.
-
thisKIDhereAlways goodI listen whenever I get the chance, and go back through the archives also. You gotta love Conrad and Good Ole JR!
-
this show used to be goodOle jr is your typical whinny liberalYeah jr how’s your boy brandon doing? FJB and FJR. Trump 2024 jackass.
-
WhyAmIDoingThis 2?UnlistenablePlease hang it up. Virtually unlistenable with the banging of the microphone against something (?). Once I got past the ads on the first episode, I counted 6 microphone “hits” within the first :30 so I turned it off. Thanks for the memories JR but it’s time to ride off into the sunset.

Ryan Awesomeness 12345678910Used to be betterPast several months have only been about current AEW stuff. His best shows are about old NWA, WCW, WWF and Mid South
-
dude7842689Stop talking about AEWNobody is tuning in to listen to you talk about AEW. I understand that they are your employer. Nobody cares! The episodes that have already been covered by Bruce aren’t half as good. I like Jim, but the fact is he has no insight to WWE Maybe do some more NWA or WCW episodes.

wackasackkkkThank you JimThanks for JR (and Conrad of course) for this weekly podcast. Ive been listening for probably the past 4 years. I think i discovered it around the same time i found Something to Wrestle and 83 Weeks during covid. It does wonders for my mental health and anxiety. I work night shift so i dont get to talk and socialize as much as id like to, but listening to this podcast as well as the other makes me feel less alone sometimes and that im just hanging out with JR and Conrad just shooting the breeze about classic wrestling. I hope this podcast is around for many more years to come, thanks again guys.

Dirt_McGirt77CommercialsGreat stories of old school wrestling, and I love hearing them when they actually talk. For every hour show there are about 40 minutes of commercials that appear out of nowhere, sometimes right in the middle of JR talking.
-
Juice MeisterWhat?Quit talking about AEW. Nobody is watching that garbage
-
Nick_Farrior51BitterJR is a prideful (not in a good way) and bitter old man. He’s the definition of daddy issues. He depresses me… he was one of the very best to ever do it in his chosen profession… he experienced a great marriage to his late wife… yet, he carries himself like a sad little boy.
-
nixfinityEmbarrassingJR is more confused than Donald Trump from too many chair shots to his fat head, and Conrad is an embarrassing shill for AEW nonsense. Even Tony knows better than to return JR to his television shows. Who has an announcer when we can’t understand anything he says?
-
Jraddd8Love JRBeen listening since episode 1 and I just wanted to thank you guys for helping me through many sleepless nights and long car rides for work. This podcast calls my nerves and anxiety and for that , I can’t thank you guys enough. 1 request if i could… more studio session throwback episodes, I love that old media. Thanks JR and thanks Conrad, Happy Easter gentlemen!

pizzaliveroneLove itLove catching up to the stories of podcast of older times that when i was younger watching. Love learning the stuff that i didn’t know back then .

Steve4:20JR. Jim Ross is the best at what he does.one else that can call and describe what is happening in a match like “Good ole JR”. This comes from his beginnings of broadcssting with Leroy McGuirk, who was blind (as described in his book SLOBBERKNOCKER). JR and Conrad make a great team of describing an event, just like JR and “The King” Jerry Lawler did in WWE. Sure do miss the old days… D. Brent

gw4075The king of whiningEvery show he mentions. U know I had Bell’s palsy ( a lot of people had dumbie but we don’t whine about it ) I from OAK. Who cares. Go back there stay I lost my wife a lot of people have lost spouses What about the ones you cheated on ???? Talk NWA wrestling. Your WWE. Days u were over the hill. U don’t know everything. No one cares about what Jim thinks of collage football stop the Constance whining it’s time to dump this podcast it’s just a place for Jim to whine or try and sell u his stupid Sausage every one has problems and did not make the big money like he did

hipolitoPerezShow is awful. Doom and gloomIf you want to hear about how bad JR’s life is now, please listen and he’ll tell ya. JR rambles on and on and often forget the question he was asked. JR constantly either fidgets with something or his dentures are not secured within him mouth and there’s a very loud audible distracting noise while he talks. JR has become an old man who yells at the crowd and thinks he still has ‘it’ but he’s sadly mistaken.
-
BabyBreakerPoor Ad/Show BalanceFeels like I’m mostly listening to ads. I like hearing from JR and I like to hear how he’s been doing, but I feel like I’m really only hearing them talk for about 15 minutes in between all of the ad reads.
-
Captain Charisma26Awesome every timeLove the show, keep up the great work JR & Conrad.
-
Makes No SenseClassicIf you like hearing about the territory days, pre-Hogan WCW, unvarnished opinions on modern wrestling, you’ll like this podcast. JR puts over AEW (it’s his employer, so of course), but he has no problem criticizing the talent when they do something stupid or think they’re above experienced advice. Love hearing the stories.
-
Halfman!Brah. The ads…I love Jim Ross and like all the wrestling podcasts done by Thompson, it’s getting to the point where the commercials interrupt the flow and make it very difficult to listen to. It’s like Ricky Bobby covering his windshield with a giant fig newton ad…. It’s too much. He wants everyone to get sick of it and pay for ad free shows.
-
ElectromonToo many ads.Love JR. Want to give him a hug.

gsr852Jim Ross is a legend. Conrad Thompson Is Podcast PoisonJim Ross is still a wealth of knowledge, and I appreciate hearing his stories and observations on professional wrestling. Having listened to several episodes, my problem is with his co-host Conrad Thompson. All Conrad does is quote from the same wrestling newsletter writer over and over again to get his information, and then asks Jim Ross to comment. If Thompson is so enamored with the words of this particular dirt sheet writer, give him a podcast of his own. I’m sorry to say that I am just not a fan of Conrad’s personality or what he brings (or better put) doesn’t bring to this podcast. I would much prefer Jim Ross flying solo, or with a decent co-host. Sorry Mr. Ross. Such a waste of a true wrestling treasure! Btw, I know the bills have to be paid, but I have NEVER listened to a podcast with so many ads. It’s a joke!
-
Brian The Flying SquirrelAds Ads AdsMy complaint is how the ads are spread out. JR might be in the middle of a sentence and just cuts to an ad. You want to use the sponsors of the show, but I tend to avoid the companies because I find the ads and the placement very annoying not to mention, garbage products.
-
Ryan LucchesiWWE DevelopmentalThe latest episode on WWE Developmental was a good one. Really enjoyed it.
-
Bryce GoddardNot sure anymoreLove JR and Connie but the constant ads combined with JR phoning it in every show as well as at least one megasode per month kinda show where the podcast empire is these days. The only one who seems like he cares anymore is Eric.
-
JcVega101InterestingReal fun and interesting show hearing some behind the scene stories from good ol JR
-
TopherJames5Used to be enjoyableThis pod used to be super enjoyable but with Paul’s mediocrity and zero charisma now hosting, combined with JR’s griping, it has made this show a weekly skip
-
JoeyBagofDonuts1991Love this pod!JR does a great job on this show.
-
AudioConsumerWrestling stories from someone who lived itJim Ross, the man behind the mic, has been in wrestling forever and the podcast proves it. Hundreds or amazing stories from a guy who knows the business like the inside of his signature cowboy hat. Grab a bottle of BBQ sauce and let’s grill JR! Download, listen and enjoy!! @Robert_Negoesco
-
brianjetsGreatVery entertaining. Current/past wrestling info.
-
caligamer1976Can’t stand the constant complainingMaybe he thinks it’s entertaining but JR’s constant griping isn’t enjoyable.
-
Valley Skin 818Too many adds ruined a home runHuge JR fan But too much is too much. Even if you gave this 5 stars would you be happy with an hour of solid commercials and hidden somewhere in the middle is five minutes of a JR story? I know people gotta eat but ads prevent me from listening.
-
BlakpoppaFinallyFinally a episode of Grilling JR without Paul Bromwell. Thank You Lord!
-
katieisdumpinBischoff + JR = GoldConrad please do more of these episodes. Having both of these guys share similar experiences is top notch. Truly the best episode from the kingdom.
-
Howie Feltersnatch 69Skipping this weekOh no, Paul is the cohost again this week. See you when Conrad comes back.
-
hoyt man 1EhhhI really used to enjoy the show but Jr has turned into a grouchy person who can’t go an episode without mentioning something political. I don’t even bothering listening if Paul is a cohost.
-
BIG💶Paul is the worst. This is a 5 star show with Conrad and JR. But the show with Paul is unbearable. Even JR sounds annoyed with him most of the time. Please find a better fill in for Conrad please!
-
B.. MillerNot a fan of PaulNothing personal against Paul, I know he helps Conrad out with a lot of things, and that is great, but in my opinion guest hosting should not be one of them. When I see Paul's name listed as the host in the description, I skip that episode. The show is very difficult to get through when he hosts so I have just given up trying. Conrad,, I know you have 856 shows a week going on (I love them all) and it's hard to be on all of them every single week. I'd rather just miss a week than have to listen to Paul. I appreciate everything Paul and others do for all the shows that we the listeners do not see but please, if a new show is not possible, just repost an old Ask JR or something, or maybe let JR freestyle the way he did on his old podcast. Love the show, just not crazy about the guest host.
-
Jsuits23Too many ads every 5 minutesAll about the money for Conrad
-
puffy0365By The WayThis show give you a real deep in deep look at some of our wrestling moments, wrestlers, and just overall dope perspective into the world of wrestling. Oh by the way this show is dope👍🏾
-
UWEFUELAWESOMEThank you Conrad & JR for giving us a great show every week! Paul when you get tagged in you do a great job! Every cry baby that keeps complaining about “SOOOO MANY ADS” there’s this thing called “Ad Free Shows” Keep Up The Great Work!!!!
-
RickRee11Please stopIf Conrad isn't available stop using the other guy. I've given him a shot twice and had to turn it off both times. He's unbearable.
-
D47483More ads than actual showThe first 6 minutes of the show I listened to was ads. Then they plugged a live show they were going to do in the future for several minutes. Next they spoke about the actual topic for about 5 minutes and then they went into the ads again.
-
Thrillhills3I listen for Conrad tooConrad and JR have the chemistry that makes the show work. I’ve tried listening to many shows with Paul hosting and it just doesn’t work for me. I remove the download and mark as played each episode Paul hosts. Paul is “channel changer jones” for me.
-
coopmanjones23So. Many. Ads.Jesus Christ the ads are never ending!!! The podcast is good but my God the ads never end.
-
Old Man MesaToxic Beta MoneygrabConrad is great. Paul is under-appreciated. Jim Ross is easily the least entertaining, least likeable host on Ad Free Shows. Even when he provides the insight for which we’re listening, he makes sure to bury the insight deep in the steaming turds of product placement, disingenuous virtue signaling, and contempt in every direction except those he can monetize. I found myself having to find a reason to listen after the allure of nostalgia dissipated.
-
Bobby ShagsBring Back ConradPaul just doesn’t have the charisma or enthusiasm that Conrad does. If you listen carefully, Paul seems to ask ridiculous questions and JR tends to give sarcastic responses back because I think he realizes they are stupid questions.
