    Motivating and entertaining
    About a decade ago I gained a bunch of weight and when I started counting calories I lost it. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize I too only looked thin. I stopped tracking calories and gained it back over the years. I’ve spent the last few years “trying” to lose weight, but really lacking discipline and not making progress. A couple months ago I saw this podcast recommended on reddit and it’s the first weight loss podcast I’ve tried that is both motivating and entertaining. Listening to the hosts really helped me normalize my experience in a way no other person/podcast/book ever really has. I too love food and for the rest of my life I need to be more honest and accountable with myself about what I put in my body. They also inspired me to get a Fitbit. I’ve always enjoyed walking, but before tracking I was quite sedentary most days. This has helped me make 5 miles a day a habit and quite often I'm listening to this podcast as I walk. Thank you Catherine and Donald!

    If you’re interested in weight loss, fitness, making habit/lifestyle changes, or improving your mindset, then this is the podcast for you! This is by far my favorite podcast, and the only podcast where I’ve listened to episodes more than once (some many times!) Catharine and Donald are truly inspirational people who have helped me personally through a dark time in my life. They’re relatable, humorous, honest, and give such genuinely good advice. I truly appreciate all the work that they put into this podcast, and for continuing to be inspirational week in and week out. Health is a lifelong goal, and a struggle for many of us, and this podcast has helped to keep me grounded as I face challenges in daily life. The fact that they don’t monetize with ads (like most podcasts) and have continued weekly for 6+ years is amazing and a testament to their dedication. Some favorites episodes: Pump up the volume, Sowing the seeds of grub, The motivation bus, There’s no i in quit, the valley of disappointment, 10 things I ate about you (all 3!), Begin again again, and so many more. Thank you both for everything you do! ❤️

    Funny, motivational, and of course- an inspiration.
    I recently found this podcast and starting with the first one have worked my way up to over episode 100. Catherine and Donald are absolutely hilarious. Their success is (all jokes aside) so inspirational, and their frank discussion of the daily struggle keeps my expectations grounded in reality. Like many, I have gained and lost the same pounds over and over for decades without managing to stay at/near my desired weight and fitness level- and have gained more weight than before each time. Tips, encouragement, laughs, their age (near mine) and references, wordplay- they feel like old friends. I highly recommend this podcast for someone on a health/wellness/weight loss journey. Adventure. Journ-venture. ❤️

    I’ve made it one of my daily helpful habits to listen to one episode a day (new listener here, so I started back at the beginning of the pod!) and it has really helped me keep my spirits high and my weight loss adventure top of mind! I often find myself quoting the pod to my husband with “must be nice” and other silly anecdotes to keep what can be a stressful journey into a fun and happy ADVENTURE!     Recommended on Reddit Loseit sub, I gave it a try instead of listening to music during the work day. I hadn’t gotten into podcasts until this one. Started on episode 1 about a month ago and now currently listening to episode 140 as a type this review. Each show has thought provoking content that has been very helpful in illuminating all things weight loss. They don’t proscribe what to do, just discuss what works for them. Catherine and Donald are truly an inspiration.

    I read about this podcast on a subreddit in January 2024. I started listening right away and it has been so very helpful! Catherine and Donald are not only inspirations (lol! Their tagline…love it!) but they are funny and honest and real and have been through this journey and will never be “done”…which is the mindset I very much need. I began the year needing to lose 106 pounds to be in a healthy range and so far I’m down 19 pounds….with lots of missteps but no desire to quit. Learning learning learning. Catherine and Donald have yet to tackle a topic I haven’t struggled with or identify with. I’m grateful to them and this podcast ❤️

    I’ve listened to this podcast for a year now and have been able to lose 33 pounds tracking food and walking and I feel so much better. I feel like the topics discussed are things my mind is very often wrestling and it’s just so helpful to have this very relatable to help with mindset. I love the steady and sustainable approach to weight management and the reality check that maintenance requires effort (dang it!). In the past I lost weight and went back to old eating habits and of course regained weight. I also appreciate the sentiment that it’s ok to lose slowly or just stop the weight gain. A thanks to the hosts for this podcast!

    I have just recently discovered this podcast- and I have to say, I love it so much!!! I’ve been listening everyday starting from the very beginning and it is helping me stay focused and on track on my weight loss journey (I have about 30-40 lbs to lose!) and I’m happy to say I am down 2.5 lbs this first week. Catherine and Donald have helped me remember there is no finish line, and to plan for what I want to see!!! Sustainable lifestyle changes for the win!

    I absolutely love this podcast. I listen to it while getting my walks in, when driving, doing household chores. I started it from the first episode and am now on episode 34. I think my biggest takeaway has been that this is not temporary or until I hit my goal- it is for life.     I am currently on a weight loss journey venture, and I’m hoping this will be the last time. I started listening to this podcast a few weeks ago and with the tools I have learned I feel like it can be (the last time being at a high weight before maintenance). I have learned so much and taken away so much and I keep listening to show after show on this. today I enjoyed pizza and ice cream and there’s zero guilt because I know it’s in my calorie budget. I’m not a garbage person. The show is teaching me a Balance I’ve never actually known before. I am a human being and I will make mistakes on my path and I love how they talk about how to pivot and course correct. There was about a week and a half where I didn’t lose any weight, and I went up a couple pounds doing everything I thought I could, and I thought about the words from the show and did not give up. I decided to pevot and cut out fake sugar and bam I lost a couple pounds nearly overnight. I also am starting to see how my weight fluctuate throughout the month but it’s still a downward trend. I really appreciate Katherine and Donald for doing what they do on the show. From the bottom of my heart, Thank you so much. <3

    Of all the weight management podcasts out there, this is the first time I’ve felt that the hosts have confronted all of the struggles that I’ve had with my weight management for my entire life. The hosts are brutally honest with their own experiences and failures and what they’ve learned and how they adjusted some part of their life or thinking to do better. And while I’ve had so many friends and family do their best to try and support my weight and health goals, this is the first time I feel less alone in this journey. I’ve known for sometime that my weight management journey is never ending. That’s ok. It’s great to know I have fellow travelers at WOLT.

    A mindset intervention for life and weight loss, hosted by two very smart and funny people
    In a word, inspiring. In a few more words, slow and steady gets the spaghetti. I saw this podcast mentioned in a Reddit thread and got hooked right away. It’s funny, introspective, and relatable. It’s also family-friendly if that’s your thing. And though I may be a tad too young for some of their jokes, I have straight up cackled at many. To be completely honest, I was at my worst mental place when I found this podcast. Hopeless about my weight and fitness levels. Listening to this podcast almost immediately gave me a new perspective. It brightened my life. When I tell you that in a two weeks, I went from walking UNDER 1K steps everyday to 4K a day and being excited about it? I wouldn’t have peeled me off the couch for cash money. But Catherine and Donald did that for me, and all I had to pay was attention. I’m spreading the good word of the WOLT now whenever I can. I appreciate the heck out of Donald and Catherine. I listen on the way to and from work I can whole heartedly say you two are truly an inspiration! I have lost over 40 pounds with about 8 more to go to my goal weight. The knowledge picked up from this podcast is invaluable. There is no finish line and the things I have learned from the two of you will carry me once I hit my desired goal weight.     This is a good listen for anyone in any stage of their weight loss journventure. I have lost 90 LBs but the only person I can talk about the daily struggles and tips is my husband. This podcast is inspiring and very helpful. Kathrine and Donald have topics that cover some things I haven’t encountered on my journventure and ways to look at some of the struggles I have encountered in a different way. I just found this podcast and am looking forward to catching up.

    This is absolutely my favorite weight loss podcast. It’s informative, empowering, entertaining, and most importantly, an inspiration.... The married couple, who incidentally have lost about 250 pounds, have a terrifically close relationship and their banter is hysterical. They share ALL THE TIPS and plenty on the head-game of weight loss. Best of all, they believe in being proactive about what one can do for oneself - NOT in playing the victim-of-life card. I’ve lost about 50 pounds following their advice for behavioral and mental change and apply it to other areas of life, as well. Thanks guys! 😘😘😘😘😘😘🤗

    UPDATED REVIEW: 3 years in to my weight loss journ-venture, and this continues to be the consistently best, most enjoyable, and inspiring podcast I listen to. I’ve been maintaining a 120-ish lb. weight loss for the last year and a half, and I actually attribute my maintenance mindset and habits to this show. It is unendingly relatable and provides such practical advice. I listen to 3 podcasts only: We Only Look Thin, Half Size Me, and Happier with Gretchen Rubin (the latter 2 were recommended by Catherine in the WOLT podcast). Nothing else has kept me more focused on improving my habits and making real, sustainable changes. Down 83 lbs, and I attribute so much of my knowledge to them! Catherine and Donald are funny, witty, evidence-based, and realistic about what maintenance looks like long-term. And there’s no advertising!

    Binge listening to keep me on track
    I found this podcast a few months ago and started listening from the beginning. Binge listening. This is keeping me from binge eating so I’ll take it! There is a lot of repetition, but that’s what it takes to sink in. But it is not the same stuff over and over again, it’s addressed in different ways, put into different practices or experiences. It makes it feel like they are talking directly to me. So many times during each podcast, I find myself nodding or saying “yes, exactly”. It’s like they’ve known me all my life! ;)

    Great Listening Experience!
    I was scrolling through the Lose It app, and saw a reference to this podcast. I started with episode 1 and realized that I am running into the same problems Catherine and Donald ran into. They joke about being inspiring, but there really are! They made me realize that I’m not crazy and that the loopholes I was running into are common with everyone. I usually listen to them in the morning while riding my bike and when traveling for work. I can’t wait to get caught up to the more current episodes!
